Primary school teachers can work in schools, public and private, and can demonstrate their professionalism in a tutoring center. And everywhere, when applying for a job, he will need a resume.

Basic Rules

The summary of the elementary school teacher should be compiled meaningfully, comprehensively and competently. It is logical that if there are errors in such a document, this discredits the specialist.

It is worth paying attention to several rules for writing a competent resume for a teacher.

  • Write only the truth, but do not note the negative points. Of course, if you were fired for an article or in the past you had some sad experience that has become known to the general public, you will not conceal it. But you do not need to indicate those negative aspects that have remained in the past and do not affect your current pedagogical image. At the same time, you should not embellish your appearance for a device to school, keep a balance.
  • Stick to the structure. The summary should contain paragraphs, and in them - logic and harmony. Try to keep the resume on one side of the sheet: work with the font, its size, lists.
  • Keep in a friendly tone. Excessive rigor, protocol in such a document is not needed. You can write about yourself competently, in a business style, but without clericalism.
  • Do not try to create a standardized resume: in this case, it will not differ from the competitors resume. This is especially true of paragraphs on personal and professional qualities.
  • Do not write bad reviews about your previous job, about your previous bosses. This speaks of you as a person who removes dirty linen from the hut and will certainly do the same with a new job.
  • Do not write in long sentences - they are poorly perceived by the reader, especially if it is the employer who wants to immediately see the essence in the document.
  • Accompany the resume with a photograph. This will show that you have nothing to hide, which may cause the employer's first intuitive sympathy. Choose a photo where you are friendly. This may be a photograph in the workplace.
  • Format your resume before submitting: highlight item names in bold. Create a visually pleasing to read document structure.
  • Such a resume allows you to make a few professional liberties. For example, you can mark your pedagogical credo there.
  • Ensure that all parts of the resume are proportionate. If the list of achievements will occupy more than half of the total, it may look immodest.

Covering letter

Such a letter is an optional resume application, but desirable. It is small, consists of several sentences. The following items are included in the cover letter:

  • greeting (just do not write “Good day!”, just write “Hello”);
  • FULL NAME;
  • the position you are applying for; very briefly but succinctly list the strengths, skills that are important precisely for the position that you intend to take;
  • motivation;
  • parting.

Write so that the reader can spend no more than 15 seconds reading the cover letter. But keep in mind that it may turn out to be decisive: its task is to encourage the employer to carefully read your resume and interest.

How to write correctly?

There are paragraphs in the summary that may cause difficulties in writing. Some of the alleged wording may not seem quite convenient, accurate. The following recommendations will help you avoid offensive mistakes.

Personal qualities

It is only necessary to write about what may affect the professional sphere. For example, you are a generous person, but this does not apply directly to the profession of primary school teacher. But the fact that you are prone to empathy, try to help people, are responsive, can be important for the employer.

Do not pay much attention to this item; 5-6 qualities are enough that will tell about you: friendliness, sociability, activity, perseverance and attentiveness.

Job responsibilities

Here you indicate your functions: exactly what you did at the previous place of work. No need to add what else you could do. Write about current responsibilities, about real experience for you. Job descriptions can be described as follows:

  • drawing up and conducting lessons;
  • preparation and organization of class events;
  • organization of leisure for students;
  • holding circles and associations of interests;
  • work with parents.

Perhaps, at the previous place of work, you did something extra, beyond the rate of a primary school teacher. Write about this in the “Additional” paragraph, as this does not apply directly to the vacancy you are applying for.

Professional skills and achievements

Here you should note the key skills that you can really bring yourself into the asset. The professional skills described may be as follows:

  • the ability to interest children, to engage in educational activities, including children's research work;
  • the ability to organize discipline in the classroom;
  • the ability to organize an individual approach to students with different intellectual abilities.

Find 3 points that characterize you brighter. Someone has strict discipline, others have bright lessons that allow them to do a lot of work. Someone's skate - well-established work with parents. Achievements are your rewards, thanks and, of course, qualifications. Indicate not all (diplomas can be several dozen), but only the main, key achievements.

If there are more than 5 of them in the resume, this will tire the reader.

What to write without work experience?

It may be that the place where you intend to get a job will be the first for you. Or, for example, having a specialized education, you have not yet been able to work on it. This does not mean that your resume should be as short as possible. A young specialist can note the achievements that he brought to his asset during his studies at the university.

It makes sense to emphasize in practice: where did you go, what tasks did you perform, what kind of assessment did the leader give you, and so on. The way you have recommended yourself during this practice will be your main characteristic. In the resume of a young specialist, the motivational aspect is of great importance. Write a little more in detail what goals you pursue, what tasks you are ready for, what you want to achieve in your new position. Write how you see yourself as a teacher, how you intend to go towards your goal.

Consider examples of such a motivational aspect.

  • «I’ll try to gain a foothold in the new workplace and establish good business relationships with colleagues. I intend to follow the path of professional growth and development, engage in self-education, learn from the experience of senior colleagues. In my work, I focus on the synthesis of the best achievements of the Soviet school and the findings of Western education, which it makes sense to bring to the national school. ”
  • «At my first workplace I want to establish myself as a creative, active, goal-oriented teacher. Set to professional reflection, introspection, search for your own pedagogical style. I look forward to starting work, I strive to approach my professional mission with dignity, creativity, and responsibility. ”

Additional information about yourself
