They manage to make vases from jute on their own, without spending much effort or money, but the result is very nice decorative objects. Environmentally friendly material is easy to use, and therefore can be used to create not only vases, but also flower pots, toys, paintings and even dolls.
A big plus is the fact that you can decorate a jute vessel with absolutely any decor available in the bins.
Which are there?
A jute vase can be realized in any size, so at home it is possible to create both a floor design for flowers and a miniature container for sweets. The shape and dimensions of the vessel vary depending on the base used - for example, a hemispherical cup will be required for a candy cane, and it is better to build a large jute container on the basis of some kind of plastic barrel.
By the way, I must say that jute vases can be created both by gluing the cord to the base, and by knitting with an ordinary crochet.
What can be made of?
In addition to the twine itself, either cardboard, a plastic bottle, or a container for drinking yogurt, which act as the basis, is usually used to create a vase. The bottles are usually cut from above, and a roll is formed from cardboard. From several balls it is possible to construct an unusual rounded design, suitable already for organizing a fruit bowl or candy bowl.
By the way, a fruit vase can also be made simply from a straight thread wound around a frame of wooden skewers.
A nice openwork vase is also obtained with the help of a balloon, which, after drying of the twine impregnated with glue, is blown away. For the decor of this design, flowers made of burlap are used.
Workshop for beginners
There are a large number of workshops on creating a jute vase with your own hands, but it is better to start with some basic one that allows you to get acquainted with the basic techniques.
Tools and materials
To create a simple vase, jute threads will be required. It is good if the ropes are colored, but you can color them yourself if you wish. Besides, PVA glue or Titan glue, scotch tape, scissors, knitting needles and matches should be prepared. A sheet of cardboard with sides of 20 and 26 centimeters, as well as a plain white A4 sheet, will be required from paper. Finally, a file, a pencil, a few staples, a tailor meter, a brush and watercolors are required to work.
In principle, a paint tank and spreads of old newspapers can come in handy.
Step-by-step instruction
Work begins with the construction of a template from cardboard. The sheet is folded so that its height is 20 centimeters, and its edges are slightly glued and fixed with tape. Additionally, the roll can be fixed with staples for several minutes. With the help of old newspapers, candy box liners or a gasket, you can give the vase the necessary shape. Next, a pair of flowers is drawn on the surface with a pen or pencil.
Taking pre-stained threads of some contrasting color and glue "Titan", it is necessary to arrange properly inflorescences. Next, with a jute cord of an already prevailing shade, it is necessary to weave the vase itself, that is, glue the material on its entire surface. The base must be slightly oiled with glue, and the threads themselves should be in tight rows. In those places where there are flowers on the surface, you just need to use smaller jute fragments.
The bottom of the vase is first drawn on a white sheet, which is then embedded in the file and filled with jute with a “spiral”. After about an hour, the bottoms from the jute can be removed from the file and glued to the vases.
You can decorate the finished vase with beads placed in the hearts of the flowers. Additionally, you can make a few more inflorescences that will add volume to the vessel.
Handicraft Examples
Having learned how to create a simple vase from jute, more complex structures can also be created on its basis. For example, it can be flowerpots or a cache-pot for indoor plants. Crocheted design easily lends itself to any needlewomen who own these tools. Simple “pipe” works with cardboard rolls at the base, decorated with volumetric elements, look advantageous. As an option, a simple jute vase, the surface of which is decorated with several curls, is completely transformed by a large rose with a stem and leaves made of the same twine.
Among needlewomen, the so-called royal vase is especially popular. The details of the twine are designed in such a way that they resemble the teeth of a crown “planted” on a vessel. Large rhinestones of a bright red color are used to decorate them.
