With a large number of old newspapers, skillful needlewomen at home can create unusual interior items, such as a laundry basket. The weaving technique is quite simple, and the whole process requires only the perseverance of the master and a sufficient amount of source material.
What is required?
Before you start creating a laundry basket, you need to make a sufficient number of newspaper tubes themselves, as well as prepare all the other materials and tools. For work, you will need regular prints available in each house, a dye of the selected color - for example, a water stain, scissors and a stationery knife, acrylic varnish and a special small load for oppression. You will also need a simple pencil with a ruler, PVA glue with a thin brush, clothespins and a long knitting needle, the diameter of which reaches 2.5 millimeters.
The formation of tubes, acting as a "building" material, begins with the fact that newspaper sheets are cut into A4 fragments. Next, each of them will be cut into three parts of the same size - somewhere around 7x30 centimeters, which is most conveniently done using an office knife. For work it is better to prepare about 200 blanksso that it turns out slightly with a margin.
Elements are sorted into white, exciting edges of newspaper spreads, and colored, covered only with text. White stripes can be used in their original form, and "text" in the future to be painted.Each workpiece is laid out vertically so that the white side remains on the right, after which it is very tightly twisted around a spoke located at the bottom left at an angle of 30 degrees. The end of the tube must be fixed with glue, when only a centimeter of the strip remains.
If everything is done correctly, then the craftswoman gets the required number of identical tubes, the length of which is 30 centimeters.
Between themselves they will be fastened by twisting movements, and the sharp edge of one will always be inserted into the socket of the other.
You will need to paint the tubes before weaving begins.
It is convenient to do this with a tray tightened with polyethylene and used for drying. Each tube will be dipped for several seconds immediately into a container of paint, and then cleaned to dry, which will last about 12 hours. Work better with protective gloves.
Weaving Methods
Laundry basket from newspaper tubes can be made of different shapes: square, rectangular, round and triangular (corner). Step by step following the instructions of the master class in all cases requires first weave the bottom, then proceed to the manufacture of the walls and finish everything with the design of the upper edge.

The wicker bottom is created much longer and more complicated. As a rule, first from the tubes laid crosswise, a center is formed, which then grows to the required size.
Weaving walls is much more convenient on a special rotating table. Fixing the product in a stationary state will allow a small weight.
The base stands are built up simultaneously by putting on newspaper tubes fixed with PVA glue. It is important that all joints are either inside or in the most inconspicuous places. To create a neat edge, the racks are wound up one after the other, after which they are bent up. Prepared "rays" are braided by the rope method. At the end of the work, the ends of both the “vines” and the racks must be masked with the help of a spoke leading them down.
The basket lid can be either hinged or separate. Weaving them follows the same technology as the bottom.

The easiest way to design a newspaper laundry basket is to select an unusual color for painting tubes. Many needlewomen prefer natural shades that imitate a vine or a tree, however, the choice of bright colors will make the subject a real "highlight" of the interior.
When choosing paint, you should focus on the main color of the bathroom decoration.
Acrylic varnish for newspaper tubes without an unpleasant odor, it will not only give the product an attractive shine, but also provide additional protection against dirt and moisture. In the case when the tubes were not covered with paint before work began, colors can even be added to the finished product by applying a thematic pattern to the surface, for example, by decoupage method. If you use magazines instead of newspapers or use sheets of a periodical with only high-quality illustrations, you can make a very bright laundry basket, which will deservedly become the main focus of any bathroom. The use of bright colors allows you to use the most simple technique for weaving a round basket, as additional patterns or decorative elements will become redundant.
No less spectacular is the combination of colored newspaper tubes and ordinary white. The alternation of colors makes the subject less vivid, but no less stylish. The existing hole, on the one hand, adds a “twist” to the round basket, and on the other hand, creates a convenient handle for carrying it.
If the basket is created in one color and has a classic rectangular shape, it can still look very attractive. For example, a hinged lid fixed on satin ribbons, lace trim or elegant patterns obtained by changing weaving techniques will be an excellent decoration.
