Even a neat person is not immune from the appearance of stains on clothes. Some of them are easy to remove during normal washing, while others require special treatment. Stains from oranges, juice from this citrus are classified as complex.

Pollution features

Oranges are capable of leaving noticeable and difficult to wash spots on clothing. This is due to the high concentration of organic acids and coloring pigment in their composition. The first ones begin to corrode the tissue, disrupting the structure of the fibers. This, in turn, allows the pigment to penetrate deep into the fibers, dyeing them.

In the fight against pollution from orange citrus, time is crucial. Fresh spots, if you start to fight them immediately after the appearance of the spots, sometimes you can remove even ordinary water. In other words, the pigment at this moment is on the surface of the tissue and seems to be washed away from it.

If more than an hour has passed, especially several hours or days, the tissue fibers are damaged and the pigment eats deep.

Fabric Cleaners

Not every stain remover will cope with pollution from an orange. On the packaging of the product should be indicated that it copes with this kind of trouble. Another point is to make sure that the stain remover is suitable for a particular fabric. Most of them are effective on white fabrics, but can ruin a colored thing.

Preference should be given to plant-based formulations without chlorine and other aggressive components in the composition. Stubborn soiling can be removed with white using bleach. You don’t need to pour it directly onto the stain, you should moisten the sponge in the composition, and even better - dilute it a little with water.

Bleach pencils are becoming quite popular. They are convenient to use and almost all of them cope with orange marks on the fabric.

Withdrawal methods

One of the simple and safe ways to eliminate stains from an orange is to place them under cold water. However, this method "works" only on fresh spots that are delivered no later than 10-15 minutes.

It is enough to turn on cold water and place the place of contamination under the flowing stream. The time of such exposure will be 2-3 minutes. However, the hostess herself will see that the stain first faded, and then completely disappeared. After that, wash the item in a suitable way.

Another option is to sprinkle a fresh stain with sodium chloride. It is left on things for 7-10 minutes, after which it is washed off with cool water. Finally, the item is washed in a suitable way. Exposure to salt may be unsafe for colored and delicate fabrics.

White items that do not sit in hot water can be treated with boiling water. For this, a very hot liquid is poured directly onto the stain until it disappears.

Another effective, but in some cases dangerous way to clean a fresh orange stain is to treat it with vinegar. An important point - you can not pour vinegar essence directly on the pollution. First, a cotton pad or stick is wetted with liquid, which gently processes the contamination. This should be done until the stain is pale and disappears. Then you must rinse the thing in warm water.

Instead of vinegar, you can use citric acid. First you need to prepare a whitening solution by adding 10 ml of hot water to it 1 teaspoon of acid. The composition with the help of a cotton swab is applied to the contaminants, after which it is necessary to give the tool 10-20 minutes to activate. Then you should wash off the lemon concentrate and wash the thing in the usual way.

The use of citric acid can be combined with soaking or steaming. First, the thing is soaked in soapy water or steamed, after which the stain is coated with a lemon composition and the steps described above are performed.

A much bigger problem is old spots. One of the technologies involves their removal by hot steam. To do this, keep the thing over steam for several hours, then soak in powder and, finally, wash it by hand or in a typewriter.

Most of the described methods are suitable for further washing by both manual and machine methods. The determining factor will be the quality and characteristics of the fabric. However, sometimes you have to resort to hand washing or using an automatic machine.

In the washing machine

An orange stain can be treated with glycerin. It is sold at the pharmacy. You just need to pour it on the stain and leave for an hour and a half, then rinse the item under water and send it to the washing machine. First you need to set the “prewash” mode, and then the usual one, the one that is suitable for a particular thing.

Manually

Perhaps the most common and time-consuming way to get rid of a chronic orange stain is to soak things for hours. To do this, washing powder is dissolved in warm water, which this time needs to be taken a little more than usual. The solution for soaking should be concentrated.

Soaking should last 2-3 hours, you can periodically check the stain and lightly wash it. After soaking, the stain can be rubbed more intensely with your hands or brush until it disappears completely. After that, it is recommended to wash the item manually.

When stains are removed from bulky and dimensional things (for example, a carpet), you can prepare the following mixture - mix soda and dishwashing gel. The latter should be taken 2 times more than soda. Apply for 30 minutes, then rinse with water and rinse with a sponge.

Tips

Before using any of the methods described or a finished anti-stain composition, make sure that the composition does not spoil the fabric. To do this, a small amount is applied to the wrong seam and left for 10-15 minutes. If after this time no negative changes are found on the tissue, you can use the tool.

To avoid the appearance of stains and a new spot around the existing pollution during its removal, a little trick will help. To do this, the area around the contamination should be sprinkled with talcum powder or wheat flour.

You can’t just remove the stain and plan on continuing to wear the item. When drying, stains can form, and the stain itself will manifest itself in less intensity. In this regard, after removing stains, the thing must be washed with the use of powder. This will help prevent the occurrence of the described troubles.
