Gift wrapping is, of course, not as difficult a task as its choice, but it also makes one break one's head. I would like to please the gifted, and to ensure the safety and security of the gift.
The present, originally wrapped in beautiful wrapping paper, increases its value - because the person to whom you hand it over will understand that you took the time not only to choose what the recipient really likes, but also to design it.
Types of packaging materials
Before discussing packaging methods, we’ll figure it out, and what, in fact, can be used to pack a present. Consider which types of paper are suitable for these purposes, and which are not very suitable.
- Glossy sheets. This is exactly the paper in which gifts are most often wrapped. It is she in rolls and sheets that is sold in most office stores and gift salons. For beginner packers, this is the most convenient option.
- Craft This type of paper is designed specifically for wrapping gifts. She has transverse embossing and ribbed texture. Sold in ten meter rolls.
- Hush - thin and airy paper. It is most successful to wrap things that are complex in shape in it.
- Corrugated paper. It is most often used for packing bouquets, however it is convenient to wrap elongated, cylindrical objects - bottles, thermoses, vases with it.
- Polysilk - This is not exactly paper made from a polymer material. Used to create large decorative bows. It looks like a dense film, has the ability to stretch a little. Suitable for packing items that have a non-standard shape.
- Mulberry - paper made in Thailand. May contain floral elements (dry leaves, flowers), as well as ornaments, drawings.
Without dwelling in detail on mother-of-pearl, silk, reaped, gel and embossed paper, we move on to packaging methods.
Packing options
The main and most common flat gift wrapping material is wrapping paper. You can take absolutely any - there are a lot of them on sale, with colors and prints for every taste.
Of course, choosing paper, one must proceed from the one to whom it is planned to present a present.
A packaging with a print of unicorns or sweets is hardly suitable for a serious man, and a rough princess will surprise a young princess.
So, gift paper is selected. It remains to wrap in it what you will give. To do this, take a sheet that is suitable in size, a tape roll and glue - better than PVA. First you need to wrap the gift on the long side, fastening the edges with tape. Where the sheet has short edges, you need to fold them with corners. Next, the corners are bent inward and carefully glued. After that, you can stick a bow, tie a ribbon, other decorative elements.
You can pack your present in a newspaper. Of course, for this you need to choose a newspaper with a minimum of photos and small text without scandalous headlines. If you manage to stylize it like a vintage, you get great packaging.
If you have a printer at home, print a puzzle on the wrapping paper and circle the words “With Love” or “From a Friend” with a felt-tip pen.
It will turn out unusual and at the same time warm. On simple white packing lists, you can draw the faces of charming animals - owls, cats, dogs. And you can - a ribbon and a bow. Print a photo of the person to whom you will give the gift, stick it on the package. Write warm words.
If your gift is already packed in a box - white or “cardboard” brown shade - you can not wrap it. Tie a chic volumetric bow. Even simpler - wrap the gift with ribbon and glue the largest bow that is on sale.
Instead of a ribbon, a multi-colored rope is suitable, to which you can attach a name tag cut out of cardboard and write the name of the person for whom the gift is prepared. You can wrap the present with brown craft paper, tie it with a usual twine to match, and put a flower or a fir branch under the bundle (depending on the holiday).
Even paper bags, which put purchases in clothing stores, can be used to create beautiful packaging.
