Today, one of the most popular fabrics is polysatin, which successfully replaces its satin predecessor. This material is quite unusual in that all the fibers undergo special processing before weaving, so that the fabric becomes perfectly even and smooth.

Description

If you mix coal, oil, water and air, the result is a synthetic additive called polyester. It was this substance that became part of polysatin, so that the fabric acquired strength, exceptional durability, and resistance to the occurrence of creases and deformations.

Things from this fabric are very convenient, they do not require smoothing, almost do not shrink and look great even on the lightest staining. The second component of the canvas is cotton fiber. As a rule, modern materials contain 35% polyester and 65% cotton.

The material is thin, smooth, the surface is silky. The density of the threads varies from 70 to 100 g / m2. The popularity of the material is explained by its extremely high technical and operational characteristics.

  • Durability. The material is resistant to wear, does not fade, does not fade in the sun, is designed for frequent washing and intense wear.
  • Strength. Double interweaving of threads provides tensile strength.
  • Unpretentiousness. Polyester products can be easily washed off even when heavily soiled. They dry very quickly, but do not wrinkle, that is, they can be worn immediately after washing and drying (without steaming and smoothing).
  • Convenience in tailoring. The material is easy to cut and sew, it does not crumble, the edges do not open and do not curl.

Many note the hygrostability and breathability of polysatin. However, these qualities are encouraging when you need to sew a canopy, awning or raincoat, but such linens are not suitable for everyday clothes: they will not be quite comfortable, the body does not “breathe”, and this often causes various allergic reactions.

Kinds

Two types of polyester are distinguished depending on the raw materials used and the features of use.

Industrial

It consists of 100% polyester, used for the manufacture of bags, mattresses, upholstery, rugs, tents and the like. Throughout the entire period of use, synthetics do not lose their shape, do not change color and do not wear out. Products made from industrial polyester are perfectly washed, although a smooth surface by itself almost does not absorb pollution, but rather repels them, which greatly simplifies maintenance.

Some manufacturers sew bedding from such material, but they are not popular with consumers.

Domestic

This is a blended material that is used to make clothes and bedding. In recent years, at the peak of demand there are fabrics with 3D patterns, which are obtained thanks to the special technology of photo-deposition of vivid pictures. The image looks very colorful and realistic and does not lose its colors even after repeated washing.

Comparison with other materials

After the appearance on the domestic market, polysatin began to be positioned as a material that came to replace such traditional fabrics as satin, microfiber and many other natural fabrics. We will try to answer the question of whether this fabric can become an analogue of other paintings.

  • Satin Weaved from double-twisted fibers that were previously processed for a flat structure. The result is a dense canvas, but at the same time silky, smooth and thin. This is a completely natural material, and this is its main difference from polysatin, which is either a mixture of synthetics and cotton, or a fully synthetic material. That is why satin is much more expensive than polysatin, although things from it wear out faster and lose their original gloss.
  • Poplin. It is a material made of fibers of different thicknesses, as a result, a dense header is obtained. Poplin can be made 100% from cotton, and may contain inclusions of silk, wool or artificial fibers. Such material is hypoallergenic and very pleasant to the body by touch. Like polysatin, poplin does not crumple, does not require special care and is worn for a rather long time. Polysatin, especially if it contains a lot of polyester, is less pleasant for the skin, it can become electrified and in rare cases cause irritation. However, it costs much cheaper than poplin, therefore it is in great demand.
  • Calico The structure of the fabric here is the same as that of poplin, but the fibers are coarser. The fabric is fully cotton, so it is widely used for the manufacture of sets of bed linen and other household items. This is a safe and practical material, and in these parameters coarse calico outperforms polyester, however polysatin is softer and more tender to the touch, and it is priced a little cheaper.

Summarizing all the above, we can conclude that polysatin, in the structure of which cotton is present, is almost not inferior to cotton cloths, but it costs an order of magnitude cheaper.

If the body does not respond to artificial fibers, then it is quite possible to save a little.

Care

Polysatin is very easy to care for, the only precaution when working with this material is the need to observe the temperature regime when washing and ironing. The fabric easily transfers all cycles and modes of machine and hand wash, while the temperature should be set no higher than 40 degrees. If you wash clothes at higher temperatures, then it will quickly become unusable.

When choosing detergents, it is better to give preference to chlorine-free formulations. This will preserve the brightness of colors and clarity of 3D images. Experts advise using liquid and gel products.

It is advisable to use air conditioning when working with the canvas: it maintains the softness of matter and the saturation of colors.

Polyester products dry very quickly. It is best to dry them in air, they do not lose their properties under the influence of ultraviolet radiation, however, prolonged drying in the open sun is undesirable. The material can be used immediately after washing and drying, since it does not wrinkle, but experienced housewives advise slightly underdried linen to be carefully folded in a pile and left on a flat, strong surface for several hours. In this case, the products will look like new, as if just "from the package."

If creases nevertheless have formed on the fabric, then polysatin needs to be ironed only in weak heating modes and only on the wrong side. It is imperative to use a fabric pad, although in the vast majority of cases you can simply moisten the canvas from the spray gun and dry it straightened.

Reviews

User opinions about polysatin in most cases are positive. Buyers claim that this material is practical in household use: it does not crease, is easily washed and almost does not get dirty. Many say that they use a bed of such material for 3-4 years: it does not lose its appearance and operational parameters. Sheets, pillows and a duvet cover made of polyester perfectly absorb moisture, which is of fundamental importance in hot summer weather.

It is noteworthy that the products have fairly affordable prices, but the appearance is exceptionally stylish and presentable. It is quite convenient for modern townsfolk with their fast pace of life to use linen from this fabric, since caring for it practically does not take time. However, for children and people prone to allergies, it is better to give preference to completely natural materials.
