Maintenance and care

Staffordshire terrier tiger color requires special care and maintenance. It is not necessary to bathe the dog so often (once every 6 months). But at the same time it should be periodically wiped with a damp terry towel. This procedure should be carried out after a walk, because the pet will lose particles of the old skin. At least once a year, the terrier must be brought to the veterinary clinic for examination and given him a special vaccination. The first time a small puppy of this breed should be vaccinated 2-3 times a month. But first, the pet should be rid of worms 7 days before the procedure.

After the first vaccination procedure for 2 weeks, it is recommended to limit the communication of the terrier with dogs of other breeds. Also, the animal must not be physically overstrained and bathed. A dog of this breed must be walked periodically.

Otherwise, she may become naughty and not learn teams. Representatives of this breed should actively play at least 1-2 hours a day. You cannot keep the terrier locked up.

Hair care is simple, as these dogs are quite short. It can be combed with a special brush only once a week. No haircuts needed. In the cold season, you should buy clothes for the dog, since the undercoat of the dog is poorly developed. If necessary, trim the pet's nails and clean the auricles. Also, the animal is sometimes taken to the dentist to remove tartar.

You can feed the terrier with dry ready-made granules from specialized stores or natural homemade products. The basis of the diet should be natural meat. Moreover, it is recommended to choose low-fat species (veal, chicken, turkey, rabbit). It is better not to give pork, as it usually contains a considerable amount of fat. It is recommended to include the liver, lung, heart and spleen in the diet. Remember that both meat and offal should be boiled beforehand. 1-2 times a week, you need to give raw foods.

To strengthen the teeth, the dog can be given gnawing bones. But remember that sharp bones can injure a dog, and too thin it will break too quickly. In the menu you must include various cereals (buckwheat, pearl barley, rice, oatmeal). Sometimes the dog can be given sour milk or boiled chicken eggs. A small amount of cottage cheese is also acceptable.

If you want to feed the dog with ready-made feed from the store, then remember that you need to choose food only super-premium. When choosing a diet, consider that its basis should be meat and cereal components (oatmeal, rice, corn or barley). Super-premium purchased foods should also contain vegetables, fruits, and medicinal herbs. In addition, it is better to choose diets with vitamin and mineral supplements for the normal growth and development of the animal.

Ready canned foods can also sometimes be added to the dog’s diet. But using them too often can lead to the fact that your pet will begin to deteriorate greatly. You cannot mix natural food with prepared feeds. Adult animals are fed 2 times a day, small puppies are recommended to be fed 3 times.

A dog should be accustomed to cleanliness from a young age. For her, you need to have a separate litter, which must be washed regularly.
