The bedroom is a special room in every house where its inhabitants spend most of their time. For proper rest and relaxation, the atmosphere in such a space should be filled with peace and coziness, and the atmosphere should be comfortable, possess pleasant tactile properties.

In the shops you can find many finishing materials suitable for this room. In this article, we will consider materials that can be selected to decorate the floor in the bedroom.

What should be the floor?

Before purchasing material, you must familiarize yourself with the requirements that apply to it. Incorrectly selected coverage may be unsuccessful and will not last long.

When making a choice, several features should be considered.

  • Environmental friendliness. You can not neglect the quality of materials, because in the bedroom we spend most of the time.
  • Comfort while walking. Pleasant tactile sensations after waking up will provide a good mood for the whole morning, and in the evening, after a hard day, will allow you to relax and relieve some of the fatigue.
  • Appearance. The decoration should be in line with the design of the room.
  • Ease of care. Cleaning will be a pleasure, if it does not cause inconvenience, it is carried out quickly. Selectable coverage should be low maintenance.
  • Non-slip surface. After sleep until complete awakening, our body remains awkward, inhibited, so slipping is easier than ever (especially after going to the shower). The floor must be safe.
  • Heat. After waking up, nobody likes to touch the cold floor with their feet. In the cold season, you can spoil the mood for the whole day, because the coating should be warm.

Varieties of materials

We will analyze the features of each of the floor coverings in turn.

Carpet

One of the popular materials for flooring is soft, warm, creating cosiness in space. He has such positive qualities:

  • soft and warm upper part - it is pleasant to walk on the floor with such a finish;
  • the pile can be either short or long;
  • variety of palettes and prints;
  • good soundproof qualities;
  • ease of installation.

A long-pile carpet can be combined with different types of finishes or it can only be laid with a section of the floor, for example, around the bed, so that it would be nice to get up on it in the morning.

It also has disadvantages:

  • the carpet accumulates dust, this is noted by many consumers;
  • due to the accumulation of dust, the need for cleaning grows at times;
  • For allergy sufferers, the coating may be contraindicated.

Modular carpet

In fact, this is an ordinary carpet, cut into individual elements with a reinforced base. The plate does not bend - it is dense. Some advantages of the material are presented below.

  • Elementary installation. Working with small tiles is easy, as well as dismantling them.
  • Easy to carry.
  • Profitability. After installation, no more than 5% of waste remains in any room, and with a conventional carpet this parameter can reach 20%. The problem is that the roll in size often does not match the size of the room. In the case of tiles this trouble will not be.
  • Environmental friendliness. The product does not emit hazardous chemical components. Manufacturers assure that it is allowed to operate at high temperatures.
  • Sound and heat insulation properties.
  • It does not deform under the load of furniture.
  • Using tiles of different colors, it is possible to create a suitable pattern.

The arguments against this product are the same as those of the carpet:

  • the need for constant cleaning;
  • abrasion of the material.

Solid board

One of aesthetic, heat-intensive and natural coatings that add harmony and comfort to a room in a classic or artsy style. The board is mistaken for parquet. This product is made from natural wood.

The strengths are the following parameters:

  • strength characteristics and durability - the coating can last about 50 years, it can be restored many times;
  • excellent thermal insulation;
  • chic design;
  • ecological cleanliness and safety.

Not without flaws:

  • not the most affordable price - this factor repels buyers;
  • the installation procedure requires many auxiliary materials and equipment, which is why installation is also expensive;
  • the material is exposed to temperature surges and humidity;
  • it is necessary to use protective solutions for the tree, otherwise in a couple of years it will begin to rot or may be eaten by parasites;
  • The board must not be installed if the underfloor heating system is installed.

An array board can be of 4 quality classes:

  • 4 and 3 grade boards are rougher and suitable for roughing or will have to be painted;
  • boards 2 and 1 class can be used for finishing, it is necessary to varnish.

Based on the loads on the floor, a tree species is selected. In the bedroom with minimal load, you can use any wood.

Parquet board

Unlike solid wood, a parquet board is not made from a whole piece. This is a three-layer coating, where the first layer is responsible for the design and is an elite tree species. The larger such a layer, the more polishes it is possible to carry out - accordingly, such parquet in the end costs more. The remaining 2 layers are often made of coniferous wood. All parts are glued together under high pressure, and the fibers are in opposite directions - this allows to achieve good product strength.

Of the benefits include:

  • good appearance (suitable for expensive interiors), it is not always possible at first glance to distinguish a parquet board from piece parquet;
  • environmental Safety;
  • quick and not too complicated installation (especially in relation to a massive board and parquet);
  • a good, pleasant sensation surface;
  • soundproofing;
  • low cost in relation to piece parquet;
  • with such parquet you can make a warm floor.

Cons of coverage are:

  • thin top layer - scratches easily remain on it;
  • afraid of moisture;
  • restoration of the material is not always possible; if damaged, it will be necessary to replace the entire board.

Cork floor

A good choice for floor repairs. Main advantages:

  • natural, environmentally friendly product, made from cork oak bark;
  • cork is characterized by antibacterial properties;
  • constantly warm, pleasant material, which also springs up while walking along its surface, which has a beneficial effect on the spine;
  • due to the modest weight, installation is quite simple;
  • the surface does not absorb dust accumulations and does not slip; it is easy to clean;
  • has good sound and heat insulation;
  • long service life - up to 20 years.

Less floor - soft top. If a sharp object falls on it, a deep mark may remain.

Laminate

An excellent and inexpensive option for decorating the floor in the bedroom. It is possible to regard it as the most economical and affordable analogue of a parquet board, which is much inferior to it in the materials used. This board is assembled from a certain number of different layers, the fundamental of which is fiberboard, under which moisture-resistant paper is used. The top layer is reinforced with a film that makes the coating even more moisture resistant. This is followed by decorative paper and a layer of melamine resins.

Positive parameters are:

  • affordable price;
  • a wide range of colors and patterns will allow you to choose exactly what you want to see in the room;
  • high strength;
  • tolerates temperature differences;
  • so easy to install that anyone can put it in;
  • scratch resistant, especially if it is of high quality;
  • quite a long life.

Laminate is a cool coating. It is possible to make a warm floor under it, but it is not recommended. It goes well with fluffy carpets. It is necessary to acquire a coating of high-quality, from well-known manufacturers, otherwise the new finish after a short period of time will begin to warp, will become worthless.

All types of laminate do not like moisture, but in the bedroom this will not be a problem.

PVC linoleum

The specified material is known to many, and in current apartments it is present almost everywhere. At the base is polyvinyl chloride. The first white layer is a substrate having small sound-absorbing properties. On the upper layer there is the possibility of applying any pattern with an imitation of material, such as tile, stone, marble.

Benefits of coverage:

  • elementary installation;
  • there are characteristics of heat and sound insulation;
  • hygiene and undemanding care;
  • good strength properties, moisture tolerance;
  • affordable price;
  • large assortment of prints and palettes.

Cons of coverage for use in the bedroom is not significant:

  • leaving dark stripes and marks from the shoes, but in the bedroom almost no one walks around in shoes, therefore there should be no problems;
  • it cracks from subzero temperatures and deforms from high ones - in bedrooms, as a rule, the temperature does not change much;
  • after installation, unpleasant odor may come from linoleum, but it will disappear in a couple of days.

Interior Design Ideas

In a muffled room with peach walls, dark paintings and a light, soft bed, it is permissible to lay a dark chocolate parquet board.

    The decor in a modern style, in which white and black tones collide, is suitable for a black laminate with a glossy surface.

      In a bright room with the same bright furniture made from natural materials, it is worth laying a carpet with a milky hue.

        In a classic interior with a voluminous bed, carved decorations, expensive furniture and intricate golden lamps, a dark floor made of natural wood covered with a large carpet will look chic.

                  With a modern snow-white room with minimalist furniture and light decorations, a pale ash shade laminate covered with a large gray carpet will harmonize.
