• Using a thread or rope. If there is no tailor meter at hand, you can find out the volume of the head with the help of improvised means - threads, braid, any rope. It needs to be wrapped around the head in the same way as in the method described above, and then we measure the obtained length with an ordinary ruler.

It is worth noting that many models of caps are equipped with the so-called adjustment tapewhich has one or two sizes in stock. That is, a hat of size 56 can stretch to size 58. First of all, you need to decide for which season a hat is purchased. In the warm autumn and spring months, the hat performs more of a decorative function, so the material can be almost anything. Sports hats can be made of cotton, fleece, acrylic or synthetics, everyday models can be made of denim, a mixture of silk and cashmere, suede, thin leather or knitwear.

Models for the winter should include wool, it is good if it is a natural fabric. Angora, camel hair, and alpaca also have excellent performance. If we talk about fur hats, then there are two options - either the fur is inside, and the outer part of the cap is leather or suede, or the fur is outside, then the lining should be pleasant and cozy, for example, from good knitwear or fine wool.

The headgear should also fit into the general style of the wardrobe, or be suitable for the occasion. If you choose a hat for sports - for example, for running or skiing, then it should be dense, windproof and have a minimum of decorative elements. Such hats often have a fleece or even a membrane lining, which allows you to effectively remove moisture from the head. If sports style is the basis of your wardrobe, then a hat can be much more interesting.

These are models of knitted earflaps with long “braids”, with fancy pom-poms, these are caps-caps with bright inscriptions or print, or knitted caps that are “equipped” with fur headphones.

Young ladies who prefer a feminine, calm style can wear soft knitted hats, cute berets or fur hats. For impudent ladies, dressing in the style of "glamor" or casual, caps with a decor of rhinestones or metal elements, fur flaps with leather inserts, bright hats with pompons are suitable. For business women, a headdress of restrained color with a minimum of additional elements is suitable. A classic fur hat or a medium knit hat will look good.

If this is not possible, try to negotiate with the seller that you need to think for a couple of days to try on a hat with outerwear.

• Another important point is the quality of the product. If it is a bright fabric or yarn, check if it will stain the skin, for this you need to rub the cap with a damp cloth. If there is decor on the headdress - rhinestones, metal or plastic elements, make sure they are firmly held.

• Pay attention to the quality of the seams of the product, the density of the gum. It happens that in a store the hat seems comfortable, but with prolonged wear it puts pressure on the temples or forehead, which can cause a headache.
