How to create a bag?
If you don’t want to fantasize too much, you can create something original based on an existing solution. The important point is to do such things best from some dense and durable fabrics.
The first step is to take measurements from the device, as well as the selection of pieces of fabric that will become the basis of the future bag.
For this you will need:
- fabric for the valve;
- lining and main fabric;
- doublerin or some other sealant;
- a pair of fasteners or straps (depending on the chosen bag model).
The sewing steps are as follows:
- First you need to do the cutting. To do this, you need to draw the main and lining fabrics, taking into account the size of the gadget and taking into account the allowances for the seams. A couple more centimeters should be added for a loose fit. The valve layout will also depend on the type and appearance of the gadget.
- Next step - cutting out the details of the cover. Each will need to be glued with doubler or previously selected sealant. Sewing should begin with the main piece. In this case, the fabric is folded face inward, stitched with the usual line. Now the edges need to be processed. If you want to make some drawings, make applications or add details, then this should be done at this stage until all the elements have been sewn together.
- Getting to the bottom: Corners are carefully inserted from the bottom of the stitched part, after which the seam is fixed with a pin. It is necessary to measure the thickness of the gadget perpendicular to the seam and mark it with a pencil. Now the product needs to be sewn along this contour, and the excess fabric must be cut off. For the day it will be even better to lay two lines to make it stronger. In the same way we sew the second corner, as well as the lining. - The next step is to create a valve or bag cover. It is necessary to fold the two parts facing one another and stitch them from 3 sides.
