Sometimes one wants to escape from all worries at least for a moment. But how to do this, when there are a lot of things ahead, in my head - a lot of plans, and everything around me is sad. It’s raining outside, vanity is in the office, and unwashed dishes are at home. It would be better to see a good one instead of this picture, take a break, and even better - sleep a sound, restful sleep. It is possible, and a lot of time is not required. You will be in time, even if you allow yourself to “disconnect” for a while. And transcendental meditation will help us with this.

What it is?

Transcendental meditation, or TM for short, is one of the most common and used meditation techniques. According to some reports, today it has mastered from 6 to 8 million people around the world. And almost all of them believe that this is the most important component of their well-being, excellent health, vitality and success.

It is believed that the doctrine appeared even thousands of years ago. However, officially, the technique got its name more than half a century ago. Its official founder is the Indian yoga guru Maharishi Mahesh. According to some reports, it was brought to Europe by members of the legendary four The Beatles. They got acquainted with transcendental technology when they were in India. Returning to the West, they began to promote and popularize this method. After all, it is available even to a very busy person.

Only 20 minutes, ideally twice a day, and you are full of strength and energy.

Effect

The followers of this spiritual practice, however, like any other meditative technique, are sure that it favorably affects the whole organism: both the body and the soul.They claim, and this, by the way, has been proved by some scientific studies that if you perform the exercise correctly and do it regularly, it will certainly lead to a solution to a specific problem and to improve well-being in general.

Spending just 20 minutes a day or 40 if we immerse ourselves in transcendental meditation twice a day (experts recommend doing this the first time in the morning and the second in the afternoon), we get impressive results:

  • one meditation session will replace you with a full sleep in 8–9 hours;
  • blood pressure normalizes;
  • your body, as after vaccination, will develop immunity against various diseases;
  • the nervous system gets stronger;
  • you will get rid of insomnia;
  • you will easily cope with nerves or even cease to be confirmed by stress and depression;
  • You can easily cope with bad habits;
  • creativity will open;
  • You will begin to make extremely right decisions even in the most difficult situations;
  • you can develop your mental abilities;
  • your health will improve, both physical and mental;
  • self-esteem will increase.

Unlike other meditations

The first and perhaps most attractive difference between transcendental meditation and others is simplicity - this method is simpler than the others both in development and in application.

Another advantage that is also decisive for many - this type of meditation is exclusively “secular”; it does not require complete immersion in a particular religion or philosophy. While other forms of meditation for the most part are not just exercises, but part of the lifestyle and worldview. Even becoming an instructor in mastering this technique is easy enough, say those who have already gone this way.

Transcendental meditation Suitable for almost any person. Both successful businessmen and children are successfully using it. It helps to cope not only with fatigue, but also helps to get rid of problems for people who have undergone some difficult events, traumatic incidents in life, for example, victims of personality crimes, violence, victims of terrorists. Other methods of meditation involve focusing on what surrounds us, while transcendental meditation, on the contrary, leads us away from the outside world and makes us head inside ourselves. "Lower" or "rise" to the level of the subconscious.

Execution technique

There are only three prerequisites:

  • you need to take a comfortable pose (the only condition is that your back should be straight);
  • close eyes;
  • start repeating the mantra - first quietly out loud, then in a whisper, then to myself.

As a result of repeated repetition of the mantra, you abstract from the outside world. Concentrating on only a few specific sounds will make certain brain cells work. Thus, overall attention becomes weak. It helps to relax and the whole body. Your brain is cleansed of unnecessary thoughts, freeing up space for new, more rational ideas.

You look only inward and go to the subconscious level. A condition that you can immerse yourself in through transcendental meditation, some call "calm wakefulness." Despite all the seeming simplicity, before embarking on transcendental meditation, experts still advise you not to do independent training, but to attend several special classes, during which you will learn more about how such exercises affect your body, learn how to do them as efficiently as possible. Such lessons can be learned. both individually and in group classes. After passing them, you will be able to continue to act independently.

But first, the teacher should help you choose not only the pose that is most suitable for you to perform transcendental meditation, but also choose the “magic word” for you - the mantra.

How to choose a mantra?

She is selected individually. It should be a combination of letters that your soul will hear. Before you find yours, you may have to try several mantras. Some may not suit you in timbre, others in sound. The founder of this technique, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, asserted that for each age there is a mantra.

He even developed a table in which the combinations of sounds recommended for use at one or another age are indicated. By the way, the master deduced the formula of magical sounds both for his very young followers aged 4 to 10 years (he recommends using the word “ing” as a mantra), and for whitened gray hairs - the great teacher left the word “Shiama” for him, such the mantra should suit those over 60.

However, we all differ not only in the date of birth, but also in many other factors. Taste preferences, the ability to pronounce a particular sound, the desire or unwillingness to hear any combination of letters, temperament, nationality, type of activity. The mantra should “caress the hearing” of your soul, act soothingly on you, go in unison with your inner state. In no case should it irritate a single cell in your body. Therefore, it is still recommended to go through such an important process of selecting a mantra under the guidance of a mentor. After some time, your mantra may seem “obsolete” - all because you will not pronounce it as a spell, but as a matter of course, and then your soul will stop responding to it.

But do not urgently seek a replacement for a code word, because your inner self will also get used to certain sounds to which it responds - just call for it more focused.

Beginner Tips

During your first attempts to apply the transcendental meditation method, you may feel that you are lacking in concentration. Let this not upset you, this also happens with experienced "users" of transcendental meditation. Just try to be a little more focused. Breathe smoothly and do not get distracted by unnecessary and extraneous. Your main goal is within you. But the main thing - do not forget that transcendental meditation, like any other, is just one way to maintain mental and physical health, and not a panacea for all ills.

Therefore, in addition to spiritual practices, for complete peace of mind go through the examinations of a doctor. Do not give out wishful thinking. By the way, especially susceptible sessions of such meditation can lead to very undesirable consequences. Therefore, before using this “medicine”, consult with a specialist.
