Manicure for a modern girl is almost a mandatory procedure, without it, most women feel insecure. Well-groomed nails are an integral part of the holistic image of the fair sex, they reveal her inner world and indicate an elementary desire to monitor her appearance. There are many approaches to the implementation of such a procedure, however, recently combined manicure has become increasingly popular.

What it is?

Many girls who have not previously encountered this concept mistakenly believe that it is assumed that a simple combination of colors is used (as opposed to the most classic one-color manicure), but in fact, “combi” is something else.

First you need to understand that nails can be treated with completely different methods. Someone got used to the fact that the same cuticles are manually cleaned with ordinary manicure scissors, while others in salons are more likely to encounter machine processing. At home, a manicure often does not involve any additional procedures, representing only putting in order with the nails, and for expensive masters, cosmetic treatment is combined with wellness and softening procedures. All this is called different types and techniques of manicure, but for some reason, some clients cannot make an unambiguous choice in favor of one particular technique.

Accordingly, a combined manicure, by definition, is a procedure that combines the various features of individual techniques, so that you can achieve the optimal result in any conditions. For obvious reasons, only a qualified craftsman with all the necessary equipment and trained to use it can perform such nail care.

Advantages and disadvantages

The advantages of combined manicure are not so numerous, but they are very significant - that is why the demand for such a procedure has only been growing in recent years. There are, of course, disadvantages, but first things first, but let's start with the good. First of all, the very fact of combining various techniques and methods allows us to take the best from each, and at the same time weed out the reasons why the choice of a particular technique is not obvious. Thereby combi manicure could be called the best technique, if only its description was not so blurry.

Another notable advantage of choosing a combined manicure is that, unlike all competing methods, it allows you to choose the optimal conditions for you. This option is suitable for everyone, since it does not consist of a specific set of tools and actions. - you simply turn to a good master, set out your wishes and possible fears to him, and he already decides how to achieve the result you need. Thanks to this, today even the representatives of the fair sex can do manicure who, not so long ago, even could not dream about it because of too hard cuticles and sensitive hands.

However, there are also drawbacks, and it is precisely these that are the reason that the combined manicure still has not supplanted the "classical" techniques. One of the important disadvantages is the tangible duration of the procedure. - although such a manicure is softer and more pleasant, it is possible that an active, constantly busy woman simply does not have enough time for him. If you want to give preference to just such a manicure, get ready for the fact that now this procedure can stretch for half a day, and not be limited to the usual hour.

While combined manicure is often praised for its ability to meet the ideal needs of each individual client, we must not forget that in practice this is not always so simple. Millions of girls today do not use the services of expensive salons, but self-taught craftswomen who provide such services directly at home.

The technical support of such a master can be quite limited; in the home salon, there are far from always all the possibilities to achieve the perfect combination of manicure methods. At the same time, even professional beauty salons will not always turn out to be a worthy alternative - their services are more expensive, and even the flow of visitors here may turn out to be such that it will not work soon to get to the master.

A completely separate topic is the qualification of the master who is engaged in manicureor rather, his ability to select the right combination of techniques. The fact is that the master is usually evaluated by his or her mastery of this or that technique, ideally by several techniques, but even the ability to do manicures in different ways does not mean that he clearly understands your special needs. An incorrectly selected sequence of individual operations or an error in choosing or refusing certain steps can lead to the fact that a person who is theoretically able to give you the perfect manicure will actually do more harm than good.

From all of the above, it turns out that you can and even need to try a combined manicure, but not in all cases it will immediately turn out to be a panacea. Sometimes you need to alternately resort to the services of different masters in order to find really good things and evaluate all the advantages of such a procedure.

Kinds

Although different types of combined manicure involve almost any combination of manipulations, in fact, this concept includes only three main types of this cosmetic procedure. Each of them deserves to be examined more closely.

  • The combination of hardware and trim techniques (the so-called dry manicure) is used in situations where the overgrown cuticle is quite dense and firm. Because of this, it can be quite difficult to remove with a milling cutter, but the latter is still needed, because it is convenient for processing the side rollers of nails. Accordingly, the sides of the nail are treated with a milling cutter, and already with the cuticle they work with the help of manicure scissors.
  • Hardware or trim technique can be combined with the so-called European. A feature of the latter is that the cuticle in this case is usually pre-softened (because the method is also called “wet”) using special cosmetics. Since these tools only soften, but do not completely dissolve the cuticle, you have to resort to the help of scissors or a cutter - this gives reason to call the combined method.
  • Edged or hardware manicure It can also be combined with various SPA-techniques. Perhaps this kind of procedure is more expensive than others and takes more time, but if you need special hand care, it is almost no alternative solution. There can be quite a lot of options for spa procedures, however, most often various hand masks are used, or paraffin therapy is carried out.

Execution techniques

Many women prefer to do manicure on their own at home - if your skin and nails are not too demanding in care, then this is quite real. Another thing is that it is unlikely that you can do the perfect manicure right away, so you will have to train for some time with not very successful results. However, it is worth it, so let's take a step-by-step look at how to properly make yourself a manicure for beginners.

The first example would be a combination of edged with hardware - It is this technique that is most often used by masters at home, and just by girls who want to take care of themselves on their own. First, hands and tools should be thoroughly sanitized to prevent possible infection. After that, with the help of special solvents, the old varnish coating, if any, is removed. Nails cleaned from varnish are filed with a nail file to give their tips an aesthetic shape.

After that, they move on to the most difficult part of the treatment - the removal of the cuticle itself. First, a special thin cutter removes its lower layer, as a result of which it rises as if. After that, the master carefully cleans the surface of the plate from the remaining dust and removes the main part of the shrunken cuticle with the help of nippers. The final removal of this part of the nail is carried out with the help of another cutter - spherical, it is thanks to it that a smooth edge is achieved.

In order not to infect the infection, it is still recommended to leave the tiny part of the cuticle, however, the master, with the help of a special metal pusher, pushes it as if to make it as thin and invisible as possible. Thanks to the last operation, the nail bed is lengthened as much as possible, and now it is possible to apply funds for strengthening it or a new varnish.

If we consider the combination of trimmed manicure with a European one, then in general the procedure seems very similar - in particular, first you also need to remove the old coating and file the tip of the nail plate. The fundamental difference is the method of removing the cuticle, which in this case is processed with softening cosmetics, and then removed with an orange manicure stick.

Due to the fact that the cuticle becomes much softer, the procedure is greatly simplified: firstly, there are no obviously uncomfortable sensations, and secondly, the removal process itself is much more carefully controlled, therefore, the chances of getting injured are minimized. However, if you are already interested in such a combined manicure, you should pay attention to a certain minus: for all its merits, the European method begins to give a lasting result only after three to five sessions, and before that, uneven and unpredictable growth is often observed.

Design options

The final chord of any manicure is the application of varnish to emphasize the unique image, and the combined one will not be an exception. This technique does not imply any restrictions on the choice of tone or pattern, therefore absolutely any ideas can be used. However, there are certain unwritten rules that help you choose a win-win design option or avoid common mistakes.

Small nails are usually not advised to overload with large drawings with an abundance of details - because of this, and so small nail plates seem even smaller. In this situation, a monophonic varnish (it is possible with sparkles) or simple patterns of a relatively small size will look much better. A good solution is to focus on one of the fingers (usually the nameless one is used for these purposes) - for all monophonic nails, one on each hand is made colorful or patterned with a certain pattern.

Traditionally, a manicure is much more often glossy than matte, but the latter is not only not tasteless, but also very elegant - despite the fact that it is always appropriate and never considered defiant. An additional advantage in favor of such a solution is that it is not worn out, this is one of the easiest ways to stand out without undue loudness. Another interesting option is the use of two varnishes of the same shade on each of the nailsone of which would be glossy and the other matte. Such work requires considerable subtlety, the master must have extensive experience and a confident hand, but the result in the best examples provides a bewitching effect of the texture of the nail plate.

As for the more complex patterns, they are usually applied only to long nails. The client herself will choose a specific image to her own taste, however, it is worth remembering that in this case the nails will become another mirror of the soul. For this reason, it makes sense to choose the image that is somehow connected with the life of the girl herself.

Care Tips

Numerous reviews from both clients and the masters themselves indicate that proper, timely and regular nail care simplifies each subsequent manicure procedure.

So that nail care does not cause harm instead of benefit, pay attention to the recommendations regarding their processing at home.

  • Do not throw your own cuticle - remember that it must be removed periodically on your own, even without going to a specialist. Ignoring this recommendation, you will be forced to resort to a manicure more often, and the procedure itself will be longer, more expensive and uncomfortable each time.
  • Remove the cuticle using special tools. It is advised to do this in one motion, so that it comes off with a whole strip - if everything is done correctly, it will maintain a decent appearance for a long time without burrs.
  • It is unacceptable to remove the cuticle with bare hands or with the help of sharp nails - there are special cosmetic tools for this task. In the absence of proper care for them (primarily regular cleaning and disinfection), you run the risk of infection when removing the cuticle, therefore, the disinfectant should always be at hand.
  • Removing the cuticle is much easier if you regularly moisturize it with special oil. Moreover, this same procedure somewhat contributes to improving the appearance of this part of the nail.Humidification must be carried out daily, even several times, and it is very undesirable to break the regularity - just skip just a couple of times, as the cuticle will return to a tough and unattractive appearance.
  • Although the cuticle can spoil the appearance of the nail, in fact, it plays an important role in the body, protecting the place where the growing nail is in contact with the skin from the penetration of bacteria. For this reason, it cannot be completely removed - you should always leave a small strip at the root itself in order to prevent the penetration of infections.
  • Modern methods involving unedged processing are considered to be the best in aesthetic terms - they are guaranteed to provide a smooth cuticle edge and assume a lower risk of injury. At home, everything, even masters, is usually limited to the cropping method, but if possible, you need to resort to it as little as possible.
  • The body gets used to a certain influence from the outside, and its change even for the better can lead to a short-term allegedly worsening of the condition. So with the cuticle - it seems to adapt to one of the removal methods (cropped or unedged), and when changing the technique, unforeseen consequences such as accelerated growth and rapid loss of neatness are possible. However, over time, the nails will get used to a new way of performing manicure, because the main thing is simply not to alternate them constantly.
  • Pre-soaking nails in many cases reduces the discomfort of performing a manicure - since the nail plate becomes softer, it no longer resists cutting so much, so the procedure is painless. However, in recent years, experts have more often persuaded customers to abandon this idea, since water often facilitates the penetration of microbes into the smallest wounds, and it can also become a convenient breeding ground for bacteria already on the skin.
