It would seem, in what conditions do geology and beauty industry intersect? Modern nail art represents a fresh trend in nail design - layered, thin, sparkling mica, varying in shades. This decor can be adapted to any casual and business attire, despite the fact that it looks festive and elegant.

What it is?

Mica is called a natural material that has a layered texture. It breaks the light in such a way that it creates funny holographic effects. It is impossible to tear your eyes from such brilliance and radiance. The price of “metamorphic rock” is relatively low, so it is very popular when creating:

  • semiprecious jewelry;
  • limited series of accessories (bags, straps, stand-up collars, etc.);
  • accessories for clothes;
  • nail design;
  • architectural objects;
  • some cosmetics.

    The main advantages of the "natural treasure" of the master of nail service include:

    • excellent layering, due to which it is possible to achieve voluminous nail art;
    • sophisticated shine, replacing the decor in the form of rhinestones, "cat's eye", shining shades of gel polishes and other things;
    • the ability to create an original and unique design, the effect of "broken glass";
    • the inability to harm a healthy nail plate;
    • ability to complement evening, business, casual casual look'i.

    Nail art does not use the mineral itself, but its qualitative "interpretation".

    Manufacturers of mica for nails create artificial material from superthin pliable plastic particles. Mica and designs with it are subject to even beginners and fashionistas who do manicures at home.

    Glitter mica can be seen in the collections of the brands TNL Professional, Atica, Oxxi, Kodi Professional and others. There is also a series of gel varnishes with mica, but what is noteworthy, the consumption of such materials is extremely minimal. In addition, on your nails you can experiment with flakes of Yukiya, whose structure is very similar to mica. They are more expensive, but it is also a pressed pigment with a very similar “broken glass” gloss effect.

    Many manufacturers skillfully imitate natural material, "cutting" the finest foil shining plates, repainting them in all kinds of colors.

    Varieties

    Many are bored with walking with an aristocratic jacket, flirty moon manicure, lurid rhinestones and pretty boring geometric prints. Mica will go beyond the classic nail art. Today, in the beauty industry, only two varieties of synthetic material are known:

    • liquid or wet mica;
    • dry mica.

    In addition, you can choose among the wide range of the following varieties: small-, large-caliber, round, diamond-shaped, mirror mica. The reasons why fashionistas no doubt choose holographic decor were:

    • numerous variations of combinations with any shade of varnish;
    • unique ability to reflect sunlight;
    • avoidance of vulgar and catchy manicure, which often happens with sculpting, rhinestones;
    • excellent durability with the correct application technology, "sealing" of the free edge.

      The only drawback of mica is the wrong choice of manufacturer. This will entail a series of troubles and disappointments. A mock-created mica can crumble, stain clothes. When applying a large number of "glitter" the design of the nail is easy to weight, make it clumsy.

      On the nail master’s table, a liquid version of mica is often found. In fact, this is ordinary shellac, gel polish. The consistency of the substance is thick and viscous. It can be spread evenly on the nail due to its excellent adhesiveness.

      Decorate your design with flickering particles, and you are guaranteed attention from the outside.

      To apply liquid glitter with a pearl shade, use a thin brush with a flat tip, as well as a “hair”, with the help of which fancy monograms and lines are obtained.

      A bottle with dry mica is a brilliant "fragments" presented in the form of powder. Small airy pieces of foil are obtained by processing the structure of the mineral itself. Get this decor at home with the help of manicure scissors. It is enough to carefully cut the foil into small flickering pieces.

      Due to dry mica, the effect of a voluminous nail and an aquarium design are achieved.

      Manicure Technique

      To create a creative manicure, just turn to the option “broken glass”. It is easiest to achieve if you use dry mica according to the instructions in the following sequence:

      • hygienic manicure, correction of the desired shape, cuticle cutting;
      • polishing and aligning the nail plate with a buff;
      • degreasing of nails with special napkins (it is allowed to use ordinary micellar water for make-up at home);
      • applying a primer that will extend the "life" of manicure;
      • applying the base under nail art, polymerization under a UF lamp;
      • gel polish;
      • application of twinkling particles with tweezers, a toothpick or dots, spreading them over the entire surface or creating a decorative pattern with their help;
      • fixing the result with a matte or glossy top;
      • sticky layer removal.

      Experienced masters share the secret of a neat manicure: to remove the electrification, the wand or dots are pre-wetted in a glass of water. Next, on the tip of the tweezers, you need to pick up a small amount of mica and transfer it to the nail.

      When applying liquid mica, all these steps are repeated until the base is polymerized.Once the primer is completely absorbed, do not remove the sticky “barrier”. It is necessary to dip the brush in glitter and apply the substance evenly on the surface of the marigold. Experts recommend applying two layers of wet mica at once to enhance the effect.

      Unlike the “dry competitor”, such a manicure will last much longer. The nails themselves are now less prone to chips, scratches and perfectly withstand any load.

      It is somewhat more difficult to create a flickering jacket, since you will have to test the eye when applying glitter.

      For design, it is recommended to use stencils or stickers in the form of even angles, an oval "smile" or a moon jacket.

      A combination of black gel polish and saturated blue glitter, lilac and lime mica, red shellac and golden sparkles is considered a win-win color combination of this decor. Silver shining splashes look fashionable on blue raspberry and turquoise varnish.

      With colored mica, you can embody the most incredible ideas of nail art. The decor looks exclusive both in manicure and in pedicure. The design of “broken glass” fits absolutely any style of clothing and any season of the year. All you have to do is competently combine the color palette.

      Glittery pedicure looks catchy and fashionable. It is often combined with high-heeled sandals. You can cover your nails with completely radiant particles or create interesting floral, animal prints.

      Young girls are better off experimenting with geometric shapes. For the foundation, you can use a pastel palette, beige or ivory, and on individual nails draw triangles, circles filled with flickering mica. Such a partial filling with foil elements (stripes or crumbs) looks extraordinary.

      The following options will look fantastic.

      • "Broken glass". The design perfectly complements the winter and spring look, ideal for the warm season. Increasingly, young girls use the rainbow effect, painting the nail plate with holographic shades that shimmer in the sun.
      • French will become neoclassical, in places an avant-garde interpretation of standard French manicure. Decorate the holes, as well as the smile line with glitter, and you will surely fall into the spotlight. Try to pick up dry or wet mica in a contrasting shade than the base of the varnish itself.
      • Honeycomb Decor - This year's fashionable theme. To realize such a masterpiece, the experience of the master and high-quality tools will be required. Select the desired shape and location of the honeycombs to defeat your rivals and the strong sex. A beautiful graphic pattern will be the perfect complement to an evening look.
      • Glitter in a wedding manicure, it certainly will not spoil the elegant image of the bride. Combine bright spangles with a neutral tonality of shellac, gel polish.

      Complete the design with floral prints, stamping or a flickering jacket.

      • New Year's manicure in 90% of cases it is not complete without mica. In this case, you can embody the most incredible ideas, correctly combining shades: fiery red and elven green, dark blue and silver, lilac and mustard, burgundy and golden.
      • Abstract design with the use of glitter will add nobility and aristocracy to any image. Masters create phantasmagoric images in the modernist style, impressionism. It is sometimes difficult to distinguish mineral mica from acrylic painting on nails. This difference is visible only in the total cost of the work.

      In any nail design a la “broken glass”, it is important to observe not only the technique of applying powder material on the nail plate, but also successfully combine the color palette. There are several "trump" ideas with which any fashionista will feel like a confident lady, a fatal lady or a carefree young mademoiselle.

      The coolest shades for using mica are considered such.

      • Grenadine - a real "antidepressant" for the autumn-winter period.
