Hands - this is the part of the body that others pay attention to most often, so most women want them to look well-groomed and neat. Salon procedures are able to turn even the most neglected nails into small works of art - they are given the right shape, built up to the required length and, of course, covered with various varnishes and gels.

Professional masters are able to create a unique design with the help of professional equipment and materials, however, such a procedure is quite time-consuming and not every girl can afford. In order to easily repeat the manicure of the model from the catwalk, large manufacturers of cosmetic companies offer low-cost and user-friendly products. One such product is special crystal dust.

Features

Crystal dust or rubbing is a special tool in the form of a dry powder, which appeared on sale several years ago. It got its name because they use such a powder, rubbing it into the decorative coating of the nail plate, although dust can be used in other ways. A manicure created using such a powder shines brightly and shimmers in the light, resembling the surface of a mirror or polished metal.

Unlike ordinary sequins, it looks more restrained and very expensive. With such nails, you can go not only to any celebration, but simply to work in the office.

Of course, in this case, you should choose a more calm and natural shades, but even the simplest and most concise option ensures that others will pay attention to the originality of the idea.

In addition to the usual rubbing, such dust can be applied pointwise and even draw patterns with a special brush. To make such a manicure at home is much more difficult, because the procedure requires experience and considerable skill, especially when it is performed with the left hand. At the same time, both expensive rubbing and cheaper options quickly dry and shimmer with each movement of the hand.

This soft shine is achieved due to the size of the pigment from which the dust is made. Particles are so small that the human eye is not able to separate them into separate particles, so it sees a coating such as radiance and overflow. In addition, many rubbing has the additional effect of strengthening and moisturizing the nail plate due to the ceramides that make up their composition.

Types of grinding

Initially, only two shades of rubbing resembling the luster of silver and gold went on sale. Over time, the quantity and quality of these coatings has grown significantly. Today, there are several varieties of such material, each of which creates its own special effect.

Mirror

Such dust appeared the very first, but still remains one of the popular varieties. With its help, a perfectly smooth coating resembling chromed metal is achieved.

The color of the finished manicure depends on the shade of the dust itself, and on the color of the varnish or gel on which it is applied.

Pearl

A softer overflow allows to achieve a “pearl” rub, which is often applied to a light and even transparent varnish or gel, but sometimes added to a dark design.

It is convenient to use for French manicure and wedding design of nails.

Chameleon

Such a powder, when applied to a plate, changes color when the hands move from darker to lighter, and vice versa. One of the most popular secretions is considered to be an option called the “May bug”. Nails with such a coating shimmer like a shell of this bright insect.

Unicorn

The rubbing “unicorn” is considered equally popular, which allows you to create a transition not of two, but of three or more colors.

Nails shimmer like polished shells collected on the beach and have a rainbow shine.

Aurora

Such a rub resembles a product called “unicorn”, but has a clearer overflow in blue and pink shades. It got its name from one of the most beautiful phenomena on the planet - the northern lights.

Prism

Like the decomposition of white light when passing through a glass prism, this dust coating has a linear spectral overflow.

Such a holographic manicure is perfectly combined with a monochrome image, contrasting with its background, and with bright clothes of various colors.

Flakes

This tool allows you to create the effect of shiny scales or wet sand on the nails. To do this, it is applied pointwise to the entire nail or part of it. If you rub such a powder, you can get a softer shine that retains its unusual overflow.

Application Rules

Using crystal dust is quite simple, because it does not require a special tool, and the whole procedure can be carried out independently. The step-by-step instructions are as described below.

  • First of all, you should prepare your nails for coating. To do this, cut the cuticle, give the desired shape with the nail, walk the nail plate with a soft buff and apply the base coat.
  • One or more layers of colored varnish or gel of the selected color are applied to the base. The less dense the texture of the product, the more layers you need to make to get a flat and smooth surface.
  • A topcoat is applied to the varnish, which does not have a sticky layer. This is very important, since it simply does not work to grind the dust along the sticky layer.Spot application of rubbing flakes can also be done on the sticky layer.
  • Then you need to dip your brush or finger into the mirror powder, press it to your fingernail and rub the dust in a circular motion until the desired effect is obtained.
  • Ready manicure should be covered with two layers of the finish with a sticky layer and removed after drying.

Examples of manicure for long and short nails

Of course, there are simply no strict rules for the use of rubbing, depending on the length of the nail plate. However, the same effects look different on short and long nails.

A large area allows you to better reveal the rainbow effect and the effect of the northern lights, so applying these rubs is preferable to long nails.

Short nails prefer a softer shine or the sharpest color transition. A great option would be to use a “pearl” rub or holographic dust “prism”.

At the same time, it is better to stay at calmer shades and not choose bright flashy colors.

Such rubbing as “mirror” and “May bug” look great on any length of the nail, while the darker the color of the varnish or gel is selected, the brighter the nails will shine and shimmer after the manicure.
