A trash can is an obligatory attribute in any household. It is used to dispose of medium-sized waste. The design and characteristics of the garbage cans are constantly being improved, and with each model it becomes more difficult to make a rational choice. And sometimes the beauty of a product pushes its functionality to the background. There are a huge number of options on the market: with and without covers, metal or plastic, with vents and completely closed.

The choice will depend on your needs, wallet capabilities and, finally, aesthetic preferences.

Materials

There are quite a few different materials that are used by manufacturers to make a bin:

  • metal models;
  • plastic;
  • from sheet metal strips;
  • chrome steel;
  • steel with powder enamel;
  • brushed stainless steel trash can.

The last two are the most expensive materials, but also the most durable.

The forms and volumes of ballot boxes are also different, here, when buying, take into account the planned location for determining the trash and the approximate regular amounts of garbage that are "in use" in your family.

But absolutely all of them are light in weight and do not require special care. Almost all models have a cover so that the smell of debris does not spread throughout the room.

Where to put?

Before choosing the perfect waste bin for your kitchen, you need to think about where it will stand. This is not the last question, since the model of the bucket and its volume will depend on the place. In many modern apartments, the trash is located in a cupboard under the sink. Some hang the bucket on the headset door again under the sink.In homes, you can meet another “tradition” - a bucket is placed in the far corner of the kitchen.

How to choose?

When everything is clear with the deployment, you need to figure out the type of urn you need to purchase.

So, according to the characteristics of the tank have:

  • covers with and without levers;
  • removable containers or several internal departments;
  • retractable system or without it.

You can choose a suitable waste bin from a huge number of options offered by manufacturers, but we recommend that you always opt for buckets with lids for reasons of practicality, despite the model that you liked. And there are a great many of them.

  • Baskets. Typically purchased for the disposal of paper products or dry waste. They are very cheap and effectively complement any interior.
    • Plastic buckets with a lid. The lids are completely different: the lid is a turntable or the lid is a pendulum, and maybe you will like a simple bucket with an opening lid, rather than rotating or swinging, as in the samples above. But it is worth warning that if the kitchen bucket needs to be touched to open, then this is not the most suitable option for the kitchen. After all, garbage will be thrown out mainly from the cooking process or when dishes are washed, and this is unacceptable in working with food products - you will constantly have to wash your hands after each contact with the bucket, interrupting cooking or washing dishes.

    Plastic is a very cheap material, and the volume of such buckets can reach 40 liters, so picking up a bucket for any purpose will not be any difficulty. Plastic does not scratch the floor and surfaces, and despite its not very “rich” appearance, it remains a favorite in the choice of buckets.

    • Ballot boxes with a floating or hinged lid. Made of stainless steel, have a variety of volumes. You can purchase both a 6-liter bucket and a large 60-liter tank!
    • Trash bins with a lever. Such models have a special pedal that you need to step on with your foot to open the bucket, so this is a floor-mounted option. This bucket will not work if there are elderly people or family members in your family who have problems with their backs - in order to throw out the garbage, one constantly has to bend to such an urn. In fairness, it’s also worth saying that when such a trash “wraps around” a plastic bag, it makes it difficult to open the lid, and the lever cannot help lift it, forcing you to touch the bucket with your hands.
    • If you need the trash to stand on the table, then take a look at table buckets which are most often equipped with a turret lid for ease of use.
    • Retractable bucket with a sealed lid. These buckets are a godsend for housewives. Most often they have a low cost, and they are very durable, do not take up much space in the kitchen, do not catch the eye. The container is placed in the module on wheels, which extends from under the place where you will put your trash, and vice versa.

    Care

      Regardless of what type of bucket you get, you can be sure that with proper care it will serve for many years without losing its original appearance. Just follow a few simple guidelines.

      1. Empty the ballot box regularly - this will save the room not only from an unpleasant odor, but also protect it from the invasion of possible insects or pests.
      2. Wash and dry the bucket periodically.
      3. Buy trash bags by the volume of your container. They greatly simplify the disposal of waste.

      Consider these simple moments, and you will have a useful purchase in the kitchen that will help get rid of garbage and make homebuilding easier.
