Despite the fact that the kanzashi technique is not considered too complicated, experienced craftswomen nevertheless advise beginners not to tackle the most difficult tasks immediately. Failure in a long-term business can discourage any attempt to try again, and the simplicity of the first projects will most likely help to be proud of yourself from the very beginning of mastering art.

The main material without which kanzashi art is unthinkable is satin ribbonswhich should be quite wide. To process them, you need only three tools:

• scissors to cut the desired shapes;
• a lighter or candle to cauterize the edges to prevent the thread from shedding;
• tweezers needed to handle the smallest details.

Sliced ​​pieces of satin or finished parts from them need subsequent fasteningto get a holistic composition. Depending on the situation, it is advised to use either good glue or good old thread.

In many cases, the finished craft needs some framewhich will allow her to keep the form set by the author. The role of the frame can play cardboard, felt or other blanks, which are covered with relatively flat kanzashi flowers on the outside.

In Japan, kanzashi arose as the art of creating hair ornaments from flowers and beautiful ribbons, but today's craftswomen decorate literally everything around in this way. In the end, crafts do not have to do for yourself - you can decorate even the simplest postcard with your own hands to give it to mom, sister, girlfriend, grandmother.

In this case, a postcard can be bought, but then it’s more logical then to do it yourself. For this purpose, you need to take a piece of thick paper, which you fill out and paint at your discretion. Kanzashi will act as a decoration, namely, flowers and bows from ribbons that encircle the card.

For production, you need a plain ribbon from satin of any color you like. The length of the segment depends on the width, we need 6 squares. Too narrow a tape should not be chosen - it is inconvenient to work with it.

The resulting squares are folded diagonally in half, and then pull together the opposing sharp corners. Having folded the blank, we get a rounded petal. In the kanzashi technique, it is often advised to use glue to fix the elements, but here it is more reasonable to hem the tape - there is not much work, but it will turn out more accurately and more durable.

Having sewed a round petal, the excess (what is left behind the seam) is cut off. After that, sharp petals are made separately. This task is even simpler - you need to fold the square twice in half diagonally, then stitch together the free edges, and then trim the excess as shown in the illustration. Please note that the slices must be cauterized, otherwise the threads will begin to roll from the tape.

From the finished petals compose a flower placing sharp and rounded petals alternately. Again, you can connect them with glue, but the seam will be more reliable and accurate. The core will look empty, because it needs to be decorated with some bead or button on a long leg.

After that, the flower is attached to the same satin ribbon, and already a card is tied around it. Thanks to this novelty, a postcard with a satin tulip is sometimes perceived no less joyfully than the most expensive gift.

• First you’ll have to make some kanzashi flowers as described in the section on postcards, as well as cut leaves from ribbons of the shape that seems appropriate to you. Usually the leaves in this technique are made thin and very elongated.

• The basis for the crown will be Styrofoam, therefore, you must first find a large piece of this material, and then carefully treat it with a sharp tool, giving a shape close to the ball. The trunk is usually made of wire - it can be tinted in green or carefully wrapped in a green ribbon by gluing the wrapper.

Remember that a curved rather than a perfectly straight trunk will look more decorative. After gluing the trunk to the foam blank, install the wood blank in an empty flower pot, fill with alabaster mixture and wait until it hardens.

• At the junction of the trunk and the ball, twine is glued on the wire in circles, and on it, in turn, form a rosette of leaves. After this, the foam ball is pasted over with whole flowers, individual petals or all this in combination with leaves. A tree can consist of only flowers - this is your creative decision.

• If you originally chose beautiful pot, then on this craft can be considered finished - it will already be a magnet for all eyes. If the dish is not very attractive, you can decorate it separately by the same method - by wrapping a satin ribbon or even pasting it with separate petals.
