  • white satin ribbon with a width of 5 cm (total 2 m);
  • white satin ribbon 4 cm wide (1.1 m);
  • a white satin ribbon 2.5 cm wide (0.4 m);
  • silver brocade with a width of 2 cm (only 2 m);
  • blue half beads;
  • golden thread;
  • glue gun;
  • tweezers;
  • scissors and a needle with thread.

Some workshops additionally require several pieces of oblique beading, beads, felt base and a small piece of silver tire. Certain moments of product adjustment may occur to the author during the execution of a snowflake. If you learn to do the basic version, any experiments are welcome.

The work itself is built in several stages, elements are prepared alternately.

Often, craftsmen prefer to take so many materials that they are immediately enough for a couple of snowflakes or even more.

It is very convenient if the future product is used to decorate elastic bands for hair or stylish packaging for New Year's gifts.

Manufacturing options

A master class in making snowflakes using the kanzashi technique is presented in several stages.

The first stage of the work is the creation of triple sharp petals.

  1. We need a tape 4 cm wide, one sharp petal is made up of it. With tweezers you need to align the edges of the tape, tighten all the layers, fasten the tip without cutting it.
  2. Now you need to add 2 triangles - from satin and brocade ribbons. The central lobe is wrapped with two ribbon triangles. It is necessary to trim all layers of the tape, trim the tip and burn it with a lighter. Now the bottom of the petal can be cut off, the place of the cut is also burned.
  3. The first six petals are ready - you need to fasten them with a thread. Pulling with a thread should be tight. The thread has to be fixed. To make the snowflake-flower dense, additionally the petals are fastened with glue.

The second stage of work is the manufacture of triple round petals.

  1. The segments of ribbons for round petals are taken the same as for sharp ones. The tape must be folded into triangles, the brocade tape should be in the middle. The element must be clamped with your fingers from the top in the middle.
  2. The lateral edges fold inward, the petal folds, the edges are trimmed. The tip and bottom of the petal are connected, fixed. Both bottom edges need to be put together.

The third stage of work is a twig with curls for the New Year's snowflake.

  1. You need to cut 6 pieces of white tape 5 by 5 cm.
  2. A sharp petal is being formed: all layers of the tape are aligned at the base, the tip is held together over the fire.
  3. The petal is clamped with tweezers, cut off along the entire length. The place of the cut is held above the fire.
  4. To make a curl, you need to warm up the place of the cut, holding it by the opposite side. Curls can be both dense and airy.
  5. If suddenly the curl twisted badly, it needs to be straightened, heated over a fire and twisted again.
  6. For one branch of a snowflake, 2 simple curls are needed that look in different directions. Brocade tape should be cut into squares 2, 5 by 2, 5 cm. Small sharp petals are made from small squares. The tips are burned over the fire. For each branch you need to make 7 petals.

The fourth stage of work is the formation of a branch.

  1. It is necessary to glue 2 petals, between which 1 brocade petal is inserted. Next, you need to take another 1 satin petal.
  2. 3 small brocade fabrics are glued to each satin petal - one from the side of the curl, the other from the opposite.
  3. Curls are connected using hot melt adhesive.
  4. Two satin curls need to be fastened with glue.
  5. They are glued to the branch below. The branch is ready, only 7 of them need to be made.

The fifth stage of work is collecting snowflakes.

  1. Between the petals of the flower you need to glue the round petals. They are glued inside round triple petals.
  2. Using a glue gun, twigs are glued to the petals.
  3. The snowflake flower needs to be decorated, beads fixed in the core are suitable for decoration.
  4. A golden thread should be threaded through one petal, fixing it with a bow from a transparent or thin ribbon.
  5. Now you need to glue the half beads. Under the blue beads, the junction of the curls will be hidden.

So with their own hands even beginner, completely inexperienced needlewomen can make an elegant snowflake. She can decorate a hairpin, brooch. Several of these products can make a full-fledged snowflake-crown.

In another embodiment, the manufacture of a decorative product inside a snowflake will be a large stone surrounded by beads in several rows.

To make this core large, it is fixed on felt.

The more people are kanzashi addicted, the more new ideas they have.

So, you can decorate a snowflake using the kanzashi technique:

  • glossy foamiran inserts;
  • classic New Year's tinsel (you just need to take high-quality, denser);
  • rhinestones;
  • red beads imitating scarlet winter berries;
  • knitted lace fragments;
  • silver threads that hold their shape well if sprayed with hairspray.

And these options are far from all the possibilities to improve a snowflake.
