Aquariums of 500 liters: their size and launch

Opening large aquariums with fish seems very easy and simple. But in fact, everything can be done as it should be only by special technology. It is necessary to thoroughly study it, and not just pour water and launch fish.

High-quality aquariums of 500 liters have a recommended glass wall thickness of 0.01 or 0.012 m. In most promising designs, a particularly transparent material is used. Each of its ends is processed on a special machine. This solution greatly improves the performance of the finished product. For the assembly of structures, specialized aquarium sealants are used. Between the glasses are special seams. The inner seams should be evenly drawn along the entire perimeter.

Large aquariums transfer their weight not to the bottom, but to the supporting countertops. It is mandatory to equip the vessels with special filtering systems. The usual dimensions of the vessel are 500 l - 1.5 x 0.5 x 0.7 l. This is enough to provide the necessary strength. The bottom thickness can reach 0.016 m. As for the mass, in its pure form it will be 150 kg. Ribs and screeds will give another 1-5 kg.

An aquarium with a capacity of 500 l at normal sizes weighs about 500 kg (along with water). We are talking about traditional rectangular models. To do everything right, you need:

• competently select fish and suitable plants;

• prepare water;

• mount equipment.

The aquarium is systematically served by:

• clean the filters;

• change the details;

• clean the walls, lid and bottom;

• clean the scenery;

• change water;

• Check the parameters and maintain their compliance with the standards.

From the very beginning, they select a suitable place for installing the aquarium. It must be placed on a stand or stand of a special sample. Classic household furniture can not stand the load. Still need to take care of equipping the vessel:

It is strictly unacceptable to place the aquarium where it will be lit by direct sunlight. In the process of "launching" the aquarium, special preparations are actively used. As for the scenery, they depend both on the requirements for the maintenance of specific types of fish, and simply on your imagination.

You must immediately make a choice between natural and artificial plants. The former need ordinary aquarium soil. The latter allows you to choose a soil of a more diverse form, however, they are usually oriented on its external beauty. When it comes to the settlement of fish, it should be borne in mind that for 1 square. m. the external area of ​​the fish should be at least 1 liter of water. When selecting species of organisms, their compatibility should be considered.

Initially, all new copies are quarantined. As for filters, only external options are suitable for an aquarium of 600 liters in volume. They are advised to choose as carefully as possible, because it is this element that most often brutally fails beginner aquarists.

Having completed the aquarium with all the necessary equipment, you can immediately proceed to the selection of scenery. They should be checked for chemical safety and hygiene. It is worth remembering that the scenery is acquired not so much for the owners as for the fish. Therefore, the best guideline when choosing is the naturalness of the decor, its familiar appearance for a particular look.

When the aquarium is put in place, it should immediately be washed. To do this, use baking soda. Then you will have to wipe it for a long time and carefully so that the alkali does not fall into the water. Filling the capacity by 50%, keep it in this mode for 24 hours. Then they look at all the places where smudges can be found. Before filling the main soil for plants, it is washed; if the soil mixture is of natural origin, it is also worth disinfecting it with boiling water.

The soil mixture after washing is covered with a uniform layer. Large pieces need to be removed. Plants immediately feed and only then begin to lay aeration tubes and mount filters.
