A bicycle is an integral part of the lives of many people - both adults and children. For some, this transport is just entertainment and the ability to keep yourself in good physical shape, while for others it is sports and the meaning of life. Today, there are many models from various manufacturers. There are bikes specially made for walking, and there are those designed for professional riding.

But few people know that there are also such bikes that can easily compete in speed capabilities with modern racing cars. It is about such bikes that will be discussed in this article.

Record bike

Over the entire history of the existence and manufacture of two-wheeled vehicles, many different pieces have been created, each of which at one time surprised with its capabilities and design. But to date, none of the previously developed and created models can be compared with the current record holder. - Exotic Thermo Engineering. This bike is today considered the fastest among the "brothers" in the world. Before discussing its features, let's talk a little about the history of creation.

Who invented?

The idea of creating the fastest bike in the world that runs without a motor belongs to French extreme cyclist François Jissy. It was this man who broke the craziest and most incredible records on the planet that are associated with this vehicle. He independently was engaged in the development and design of a super-bike and its components.

It is also worth noting that Francois personally assembled the frame of the structure, but with the creation of the “highlight” of the bike, thanks to which it became the fastest on the planet, a special company was engaged.A rocket launcher for a bicycle was developed and constructed by the Swiss company Exotic Thermo Engineering, of course, according to the idea of Jissy. So, in 2002, a new record holder was born thanks to the fruitful work of Swiss engineers and a crazy racer.

Record

In the year of the birth of the speed bike, his “father” decides to take risks, which, in the end, turned out to be very justified. In France, at the Paul Ricard racetrack, it would seem that in an unequal battle, two “iron horses” came together: one of them was an Exotic Thermo Engineering bike, the other a racing car, which is considered one of the fastest - the Ferrari F430 Scuderia. No matter how amazing it sounds, but just for some 4.8 seconds, François Jissy accelerated to 242.6 km / h and left a racing car far behind him.

Then a record was fixed, and the bike was recognized as the fastest in the world. But its creator does not at all strive to get into the Guinness Book of Records, so the record is not officially recorded. Despite this, to this day there is no bike faster than Exotic Thermo Engineering. After that, Jissy, on his “iron horse” record holder, participated in the race, competing with the no less high-speed Tesla car. During the race, it was recorded that the bike accelerates faster than the car.

Features Exotic Thermo Engineering

Of course, this is not an ordinary bike, it has its own distinctive qualities, thanks to which it is unique. It is characterized by the presence of:

  • elongated frame;
  • gentle angle of the steering axis;
  • jet engine, which is welded to the frame frame.

The elongated design and gentle angle are responsible for the safety of the rider.

The features of these structural elements prevent the possibility that the cyclist, when braking at high speed, can fly out through the steering wheel. But the presence of a jet engine provides the highest possible speed.

Principle of operation

The bike is equipped with the same pedals as a regular bike, but you do not need to twist them. Of course, if riding on such a transport means just a walk, then the pedals will come in handy, but for a fast ride they are not needed at all. Even the maker of the champion sometimes resorts to pedaling. Most likely, the pedals would be installed so that this “rocket” could be attributed to the “bicycle” class of transport.

So, the principle of operation of a superfast bike is as follows:

  • the rocket launcher is “refueled” with 90% hydrogen peroxide (this substance is the fuel for the bike);
  • then a silver catalyst begins to act on the peroxide;
  • after there is a process of decomposition of hydrogen peroxide into 2 components - water and oxygen;
  • the decay process is accompanied by the appearance of high pressure inside the rocket launcher;
  • at the last stage, high pressure pushes out the decomposition products of hydrogen peroxide, so that the bike comes into action and travels very quickly, gaining speed every second.

From this we can conclude that Francois Jissy is not only an incredible inventor and cyclist, but also an excellent physicist and chemist, if he could think of creating such a design. I also want to say that the inventor does not seek to make money on his brainchild. It is not possible to buy or order this type of vehicle.

Exotic Thermo Engineering is the only one in its copy. Who knows, maybe soon we will hear about what was nevertheless recorded and entered into the Guinness Book of Records a new magnificent achievement, which belongs to Francois Jissy and his “iron horse”.

Other speed bikes

In addition to the Exotic Thermo Engineering bike, there are other bikes that have also become famous all over the world due to the fact that they can reach pretty high speed.

Among these bikes:

  • FFR Trikes 422 Alpha - the bike has a speed of 50 km / h;
  • Optibike 1100R - the maximum possible speed of 65 km / h;
  • Trefecta DRT - 75 km / h;
  • Audi ebike - 80 km / h;
  • Black Trail by PG - 100 km / h;
  • Eta bike - 140 km / h.

Each of the above models is original in its design, technical parameters and capabilities. Some of them can even be purchased, of course, exclusively from the manufacturer and at a very high price. In the store, none of these bicycles can be seen. The most original and unique have long been the property of private collections.
