Captivating men with their beauty is not at all difficult. This is clearly shown by Berenice Marlo in the movie "Agent 007: Skyfall Coordinates." And here you can not do without the same seductive evening dress. An outfit with a deep neckline, a game with transparency, black silk and delicate lace will favorably represent the figure and turn the head around to any man.

Let's take a step-by-step look at creating your own charming floor-length dress with lace accents for a gala evening.

Pattern

Parts from the layout below, transfer to paper, increasing them according to your size. To build a pattern, you can use the RedCafee program or simulate it using a base pattern.

Do not forget to add 1.5 cm to the allowances for cuts and seams, and to the hem of the bottom - 4 cm.

Essentials for a Floor-Length Evening Dress

Sewing

  • Assemble and evenly distribute the edges on the central parts of the back, the connecting and central parts of the front between the marks in the form of stars.
  • Cut out 2 cups from the volumeumen, central (10) and connecting (11) front elements. Sweep them with allowances for similar parts of the front and cups of the main fabric (black crepe).

Stitching front and back parts

  • Grind the central details of the front. In the assembled part for fixing the seam, fasten the strip of lining fabric. Start sewing a line from the marked line of the seam of the sewing cups. Further grind the connecting parts of the front to the central ones, also fixing the seam in the selected places with the help of lining strips.
  • Sweep the lace elements onto similar skin-colored fabric elements and treat them as single-layer. Stitch the front side parts to the connecting parts. Connect the side and middle parts of the back.
  • Sew the shoulder seams on the yokes. Cut off the seam allowances, overcast them together and iron back.
  • Make a fringing with slanting edges of the neck sections on the coquette.

Cup grinding

  • Attach the humeral coquette to the cups.
  • Fold the crepe and lining cups face to face. Stitch the top edges, securing the shoulder coquette. Cut off the seam allowances. Turn the lining material onto your face and stitch on it sewing allowances for seams. Sweep the cups on the sides and bottom. Stitch them to the front, aligning the front edges of the mid-front line. Leave them in front.
  • On the front of the lining fabric, make middle and embossed seams. Mark the bottom of the front. Fold in front and lining face to face, grind the top edge, securing the cups. Unscrew the lining and sew on the seam allowances of the seam. Then sweep the front cuts and front linings.

Sewing Lightning

  • Sew a hidden zipper to the center sections of the back.
  • Sew the center halves from the lower end of the fastener.

Lining stitching

  • Attach the humeral coquette of the back to the upper section of the back from the transverse marks.
  • Emboss the seams on the backrest details. Mark the bottom of the parts.
  • Sew a lining to the bands of hidden zippers. Side sections of the back of the crepe fabric and lining sweep.
  • Sew side seams.
  • Iron on the hem of the hem of the dress to the wrong side and sew it by hand.

Sewing sleeves

  • Notch sleeve allowances at cut marks.
  • Follow the seams on the sleeves with a French seam. To do this, stitch the folded part and turn both allowances inwards inward, and then sweep. Make sure they have the same width. Fold both allowances together, stitch and sew at a distance of 1-2 mm.
  • At the edges of the cuts of the sleeves, make a narrow hem. Sew on the buttons and make thread air loops.
  • Stitch the sleeves.
DIY evening dress

We examined all the stages of tailoring a dress to the floor. And the most important thing that was not mentioned is the fitting. It should be done as often as possible in order to adjust the width, length of the dress and the depth of the armhole as you work.

Good luck in sewing with your own hands. Be irresistible!

An evening gown on the floor should be sewn only with the appropriate skills. Two years ago I tried to sew such a dress as a first experience. It turned out not what I wanted. Got practice, now I’ll try again.
