There is a teacher-organizer in almost every school, but not even every colleague of this specialist will accurately formulate his professional responsibilities. Meanwhile, this position gave an excellent start to a huge number of people who have glorified themselves in the field of pedagogy and not only. This is a really interesting field of activity; it is ideally suited to initiative, creative, searching, not ready for routine people.

Profession Description

Organizer - A specialist who must have a secondary special or higher pedagogical education. Appoints or dismisses from this position, as from any other, the director of the educational institution.

The list of his professional duties is long: from preparing major in-school events, competitions, festivals to organizing the participation of schoolchildren in competitions and projects (city, regional, federal and even international scales).

Everything that many people still call the "school social life" in the old way rests on the shoulders of the organizing teacher. Of course, in most cases he works in tandem with the deputy director for educational work. But since he is an official, he devotes a lot of time to reporting documentation, working with families, all extra-curricular activities are coordinated mainly by the organizing teacher.

There is a strong opinion that only young people can work in this position. Of course, this is nothing more than a stereotype, although not without a logical justification. Growing up, teachers strive for professional growth, many resign from the position of the organizing teacher in the "subject" or become the same deputy director. But there are people who for many years remain faithful to the position of teacher-organizer, because love this creative and inspiring work.

At school, the organizing teacher is not a deputy director, but he can be part of the administration, participate in weekly planning meetings, etc. Often, this specialist is the director’s right hand, because the way the educational process is built in the educational institution also affects the rating of the school, and the atmosphere created in it, and the very atmosphere in it.

Job responsibilities

The standard contract defines the job responsibilities of the specialist in question. A person applying for this position is carefully acquainted with this list.

The organizing teacher has the right to involve colleagues in solving common significant problems. Finally, the organizing teacher has the right to demand from the head of the MA to assist in the performance of his duties.

It is registered in the job description and the responsibility of a specialist. The organizing teacher is responsible for insufficient compliance with official duties, for offenses and causing material damage.

It is worth noting that what is written in the employee’s contract is very important: the specialist himself should be well aware of these transfers from the list. It is no secret that many teachers sign the contract without literally looking.

But in addition to the official document, it is important to speak confidentially with the authorities: ask how the educational work in this school differs, what the emphasis is on.

Requirements

A good organizing teacher - this is a specialist who skillfully uses his professional experience, monitors current pedagogical trends and has such personal qualities that help him in his work.

Knowledge and skills

First of all, a person with a pedagogical education should clearly know pedagogy and child psychology. This is a professional basis. Without this, it is difficult to work with a children's team so that it is productive, creative, interesting.

Certain skills can help the organizing teacher.

  • Pedagogical abilities. In addition to theory, a specialist must have practical experience in pedagogy. And if it is not (or not enough), pedagogical abilities come to the rescue. Many have them, but they need to be developed. A person with these abilities can work with a large children's team, while not forgetting about the individualization of the educational process. This is a person with good organizational skills, developed creative thinking, professional observation. He is able to analyze and summarize information, design and create methodological developments.
  • Public speaking skills. The organizing teacher often has to conduct concerts and school contests, hold celebratory events, rallies, evenings, and alumni meetings. He sometimes has occasion to speak at parental meetings (including school-wide ones), at teacher councils, seminars, meetings with colleagues from other schools. All this requires the specialist to be able to present himself correctly (self-presentation skills), to build the course of the presentation, to present the text and message in an interesting and meaningful way. Anyone can speak shy, shy, quietly or slurred, but not the organizing teacher.

Otherwise, they simply will not listen to him. But in a sense, the organizer is a leader, a leader who must lead the team along. Fortunately, public speaking skills are being trained. Even online courses can "talk" to those who are very afraid of this.

  • Creative thinking. Competitions, promotions, projects, holidays - they are streaming into the organizing teacher in an endless stream. And if "creative springs creak", a person simply can not stand this avalanche. For a professional, such an environment is the norm, a form of life. He feels confident, even if you need to keep several scenarios, applications, ideas in mind at once. Living at this pace is easier for creative people who do not need to sit over a two-page script for several nights. Easy to create ideas, quick to respond to the next creative challenge, the organizing teachers have time for everything.
  • Ability to work in multitasking. The work of the organizing teacher is not routine - it contains elements that will not be repeated day after day. Of course, much is cyclical, planned activities often repeat each other. But it depends on the look at the profession of the specialist himself. The one who is initiative, is not devoid of perfectionism and takes up new events with enthusiasm, he is excellent at not even the most interesting, at first glance, projects.

And at the same time, several things have to be done simultaneously: to plan a Teacher’s Day, for example, to shoot school news, to prepare for a competition of environmental media products, to organize an intellectual tournament for elementary schools ... Of course, not everyone can work like that.

  • Pedagogical beat. The profession of a teacher, and this is known to everyone, is associated with high professional stress, with "burnout". Children can manipulate adults, behave not always predictably and often rudely, in a boorish way. The teacher does not have the right to break down at them, go on screaming and insulting. He cannot drive the child out of the class (he is responsible for his life and health), he cannot slam the door himself.

Here professionalism, emotional stability and pedagogical tact work. Where an ordinary adult will lose his temper, the teacher includes the necessary techniques and methods for resolving a conflict situation.

  • Knowledge of child psychology, application in practice. To be able to see and hear the child, and most importantly, to understand him, is not a given. They are learning this. Using the available knowledge, the teacher-organizer will see the problem in time, will be an assistant to the child in a difficult situation, will be able to establish confidential contact with parents, etc.

The main danger for a practicing teacher-organizer is professional “burnout”. Especially it concerns those specialists who strive to take leading places in contests that affect the ranking of the school. And personal qualities often help to cope with such pressure.

Personal qualities

Attentive, responsible, energetic, reflective - all this can be said about a good teacher-organizer. However, other qualities can help him in his work.

  • Sociability. The organizer is not a desk job. We have to communicate a lot, connect people to our ideas, work in partnership. To do this, you need to be able to communicate: find common topics, correctly convey your thoughts, be able to inspire and be inspired.
  • Openness. Children feel sincere and open people whom they can trust and whom they can follow. Therefore, isolation and detachment are the most undesirable qualities of one who works with children.
  • Responsiveness. Children bring to the collective not only their joys, but also problems. They can hide them, but at the same time demonstrate a desire to share what excites them. And a good teacher will definitely see this request. Not to ignore him, not to remain indifferent - this is an important quality for the teacher.
  • Self-confidence. Without it, it is difficult to realize pedagogical ambitions. Without it, it is impossible to lead people, a large children's team. And sometimes you have to defend your decisions.

A sense of humor, balance, and curiosity will not remain on the list too much.

Training

The main requirement for a specialist is a completed pedagogical education. Specifically, the organizing teacher at universities is practically not taught (sometimes this specialty appears among others during retraining). But in teacher training colleges it can go as a specialization (for example, “Primary school teacher. Organizing teacher”). Even if a person graduated from a pedagogical university and received a diploma in psychology or a teacher of psychology, he can work as an organizing teacher.

And if a great interest in the profession is attached to education, the desire to be maximally revealed in this position, then everything should work out.
