Stroking laundry with an electric iron is a pleasure, but we must remember that this appliance must be working. Even with the most acute shortage of time, you need to check:

• whether the wire is twisted;
• Is the isolation OK?
• if the outlet sparks;
• if the plug is loose.

If there is at least one of these problems, it is necessary to eliminate it, only then get to work. Even when everything is in order with the electrical wiring, you still need to look at the sole of the iron. If it is dirty, remove all stains, crusts and deposits before ironing begins. It is undesirable to touch the heated base once again.

This is not the end of the preparations. Responsible people always put their feet on a rubber mat during ironing. This is exactly what they do in professional ateliers and at garment factories - and there they know what they are doing.

Safety precautions when working with the iron imply that the hot sole should not touch the cord. The fabric to be ironed should be moistened moderately. It is impossible:

• use stronger heat than required;
• touch the heated sole (even through matter);
• to leave, leaving without control the included iron;
• litter and clutter up the workplace;
• leave the iron in a horizontal position during short working breaks;
• put it on a shaky and unstable foundation.

Speaking about the rules for using the iron, one can not help but say that to moisten the fabric during operation it is only necessary to spray. It is forbidden to pour water from cups, cups, bottles, and splashing it from the mouth. If there are sparks, if there is smoke, you must immediately disconnect the iron from the network. It is advisable that someone else be present during work. Then the probability of an accident decreases markedly.

For safe ironing of things, it is necessary to observe a strict rule - the iron cannot be cooled with a spray gun. You should wait until it cools down. It is unacceptable to evaluate the heating of the sole by touching a finger. It is forbidden to direct steam at yourself. Do not use the electric iron outdoors in high humidity.

Turn off the appliance only with dry hands, holding the plug, not the wire. In this case, do not pull too much. Put the iron in an upright position. It should be removed where it does not fall on his head. You should check if the wire is sticking out, if it will cause inconvenience.

If possible, use irons with a temperature adjustment function. It is only necessary to hold them during operation by the handle. Synthetic fabrics are ironed at minimum temperature or not ironed at all. When leaving the room, you need to make sure that the device is disconnected from the network. Before starting work, it is necessary to put the iron on a “dry” or on a “wet” program (the second is selected only when the tank is filled with water).

You can use the new iron only after reading the instructions. You can not turn it on if the mains voltage and other operating parameters of the mains deviate from the norm. It is imperative to remember the maximum power of the connected devices (both in one outlet, and in the whole house or apartment). It is recommended to iron any things on a solid wooden board, which is covered with a clean cloth.

Carefully watch that the iron during breaks does not come into contact with easily ignited objects. Do not remove the appliance to its usual place until it cools completely. According to safety regulations, it must be plugged into the outlet only with the help of a standard cord. Additionally connect wires or use adapters, extension cords are prohibited! You can not trust the iron:

• small children;
• drunk;
• the elderly;
• people with mental disabilities;
• people in stress.

Even with strict safety precautions, the iron or fabric may catch fire. In this case, you must first disconnect the device, and only then extinguish the fire. When dealing with it, of course, you can’t pour water - you need to bring down the flame, cover it with sand (soil) or cover it with a dense cloth. If you can’t cope with the fire right away, you need to immediately call for help.
