If the sealant got on the surrounding objects in the process, then it is quite difficult to correct the situation. Many people wonder about how you can remove the mounting foam. There are various effective ways. The choice of method should be based on the coating material.

• Special solvents mentioned earlier. You can buy them in various construction stores. They should be used in a situation where mechanical rubbing did not give results.

It is important to note that no matter which cleaning method you stop at, this process is quite tedious and does not always give the desired result.

It is important to remember that far from every type of surface it is possible to safely remove unhardened sealant with a solvent. For example, the use of a cleaner is strictly prohibited when it comes to varnished or painted surfaces. In the first case, the solvent will necessarily erase the existing layer of varnish, and in the second, light spots will be formed.

Based on this, before you begin to erase the mounting foam, you should consider the moment that the reaction to the solvent at the surface to be treated may be different.

To perform such a check, a small amount of the product should be applied to an inconspicuous area and left for some time.

If you have a choice, wipe off fresh mounting foam or wait until it dries, then you must definitely choose the first option, since it will cause minimal damage to the surface or not harm it at all. If the moment is missed and now it is necessary to literally “tear off” the mounting foam, you should use the methods below to help get rid of the cured sealant:

• you can use the previously presented method involving vegetable oil;
• use the unique Dimexidum product - it is able to cope with solid mounting foam;
• in the case when the surface is not smooth, you can use a blade or sandpaper.

By purchasing sealant, you can immediately buy cleaners designed for hardened and still non-hardened foam, and you should choose a solution of the same brand. This is due to the fact that each polyurethane foam has its own characteristics that are taken into account by the manufacturer when developing a cleaner, because the “native” product in any situation will be more effective than the rest.
