There are several types of outerwear that will never go out of fashion, and these include trench coats. The production of these things began during the First World War, and initially they were sewn for foot soldiers, but over time, civilians began to wear raincoats, not only men but also women. Today, trench coats produce world famous brands, including Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana and Chanel.

Features

Every fashionable woman has a trench coat in her wardrobe, because it is universal and fits any outfit. In addition, despite the restrained cut, he is able to emphasize femininity and give the silhouette the right shape, so he is worn with pleasure not only by slender girls, but also by the owners of magnificent forms.

Trench coat has several features that make it recognizable among other types of raincoats:

  • cuffs;
  • yoke on a shelf and back;
  • imitation shoulder straps;
  • a belt with a buckle made of the same material as the cloak itself;
  • straight cut, but slightly fitted models are sometimes found;
  • a turn-down collar, consisting of 2 parts, with the lower one having a fastener;
  • pockets with flaps that fasten with a button.

In the classic version, the trench coat reaches the knees, but modern models can be a little shorter. For sewing products, they mainly use cotton gabardine fabric soaked with water-repellent compounds, which allows you to safely wear them in the rain, not being afraid to get wet. Buttons that are arranged in 2 rows act as fasteners, but single-breasted models are also found.

Cloak and trench coat - what's the difference?

Trench can be called a certain variation of the cloak, only it has a number of features that must be observed when sewing: fabric, cut, length, collar and more.While the cloak can be absolutely anything - long or short, with a zipper or buttons, with a turn-down collar or stand, with and without a belt.

Another important distinguishing feature is the fabric - a special waterproof material is used for the trench coat, and other fabrics, such as denim, velvet or leather, are acceptable for raincoats.

The main difference is that the trench coat is suitable for almost every woman, it is not difficult to choose, even despite the huge range. As for the cloak, you will have to re-measure more than a dozen models in order to choose the best option.

Color schemes

Beige and brown. In a classic look, such a trench coat will work well with white, brown, and black. But so that the image does not look boring, it should be diluted with pink or yellow shades.

Grey. All shades of gray go well with black, white, purple and pale pink things.

White. It is not recommended to combine a white trench coat with two or more colors, you should choose only one. The most striking combination will be white with coral or scarlet, especially for blondes.

Red. Choosing bright outerwear, all other elements of the image should be more restrained shades. The best complement to the red color will be sky blue, white, gray and dark blue tones.

Blue. To create a harmonious bow, it is recommended to combine a blue cloak with turquoise or blue elements. Fans of extravagance should choose things orange or yellow.

Green and khaki. Light shades should be selected for these shades so that the image does not look gloomy. The most winning will be silver-gray, white, olive and mint shades.

Yellow. The owners of the yellow trench coat will always be in the spotlight. This vibrant color looks good in tandem with black, white and blue.

Pink. Depending on the saturation of the shade, a pink trench coat can be worn with things of yellow, raspberry, coral and white. Black and dark gray tones can add some severity.

When choosing a trench color, it is recommended to take into account its purpose, for example, restrained colors - black, brown, beige, gray are suitable for everyday wear, and for special cases you can purchase brighter products. The issue of the color of the cloak is also important from the practical side, because muted tones are easy to combine with everyday clothes and shoes at low speed, and bright items look good in combination with more elegant bow - heels, a blouse and a skirt.
