With the advent of the autumn-winter period, the heat escaping us is increasingly appreciated. To feel comfortable dank in autumn or frosty winter, many people prefer to dress warmly, choosing woolly clothing.

The most popular options for autumn-winter fabric include angora. Things made from such a material not only retain heat very well, but are also soft. Let's dwell on this material in more detail, we will understand its composition, features and applications.

Description

Angora is a Turkish fabric that is made from the fluff of Angora goats, which is why it got its name. Now similar material is also produced from the fluff of Angora rabbits. Unfortunately, it does not have sufficient strength, therefore, in the composition of such a material in a large number of additional fibers are present. Cases of making fine-fleece wool are frequent, but such a fabric does not possess all the characteristic features that are inherent in true Angora material.

The natural color of the fabric is white, gray and black. Fortunately, such fibers lend themselves well to the dyeing process, so on the shelves you can find various dresses and suits from Angora that delight the eye with an abundance of colors and shades. A distinctive feature of Angora is its soft thermal insulation. In addition, natural products are so insignificant that they seem almost weightless.

Structure

The natural fluff of the Angora goat is difficult to process, the fibers are able to strongly electrify and glide.Therefore, textiles are often made from a mixture of fluff and the addition of other materials.

The most common combinations of composition in angora tissue include:

  • 70% fluff of Angora goat and 30% nylon;
  • 50% down, 25% merino fur and 25% synthetic fibers;
  • 40% of Angora fluff, 50% of any other version of woolen threads and 10% nylon;
  • 70% woolen fibers and 30% natural silk;
  • 15% Angora fluff, 10% wool, 50% viscose and 25% nylon.

If you process Angora fluff with a laser, then the production process of Angora fabric is greatly simplified and you can get a textile product, 100% consisting of wool.

If goat hair is present in the composition of such a material, then on the product’s label an abbreviation of two Latin letters “WN” can be found. If rabbit fluff is present in Angora, then the letters “WA” will be written on the product. Combinations of similar fibers are also frequent. Please note that the more the share of Angora goat fluff is present in the product, the higher its value is set.

In a relatively inexpensive material, no more than 20% natural wool is present. Exclusive fabric options with an Angora percentage of 80% can be very expensive and rarely appear on the mass market. From such material, dresses and costumes are made by famous fashion houses. In textile products, the composition of which consists of Angora by 25-30%, in terms of their heat-insulating properties and characteristics, they are practically inferior in no way to similar materials made from rabbit fluff.

Varieties

Depending on which animal’s hair is used (rabbit or goat), as well as the presence of additional fibers, there are several varieties of angora tissue.

  • Mohair. It is made exclusively from goat fluff, the length of the fibers of which can reach 30 centimeters. From an older animal, you can get wool with increased density. The softest material is made from lamb wool, whose age has not reached 6 months. Mohair is superior in strength to rabbit fluff.
  • Angora - pure rabbit fur. The length of the fibers can reach 20 centimeters. Such fibers are characterized by sufficient processing complexity, since the wool constantly tends to crawl out and it can be quite difficult to fix it. Therefore, only about 20% of such fibers are added to textiles.
  • Lana refers to high quality material, which is characterized by high cost. It is made on the basis of merino wool. There are two types of such fabric: obtained from thin or ordinary merino fur. The softer and finer down is used in the production of such material, the more tender this fabric will ultimately be obtained.
  • Angora metallic. The composition of this material also includes acrylic fibers, including silver-plated and polymer fibers. Thanks to such components, the fluff remains in place and does not knock out of the fabric.
  • Melange It is made of natural wool, in addition to which synthetic fibers made in contrasting shades are added. This technology of weaving threads allows you to create a visual effect of marble chips.
  • Suprem Belongs to the Angora jersey in which lycra is added. Such a jersey stretches perfectly. It looks great and is worn without deformation of the material.
  • Containing acrylic or viscose. Such material belongs to inexpensive, but at the same time warm and soft fabric options. Often in the composition is also added elastane or polyester to get a knitted fabric.
  • Software refers to synthetic knitted fabrics, being a good quality imitation of Angora fluff. Most often made with the addition of polyester and elastane. The composition does not contain natural wool. Angora software can be performed with or without nap.If you combine it with Lurex, then you get material that is perfect for a festive event.

Please note that in some people, lurex can cause an allergic reaction, so clothes that contain this component should be worn on top of thin cotton underwear.

Care

Things made from angora fabric require an attentive and careful attitude. It is not recommended to wash them very often. If financial means allow, then it is better to give the product dry cleaning.

If you prefer to wash things yourself, then do this with extreme caution. Since clothes from angora can not only deform from contact with water, but also significantly change in size, which is especially important when it comes to hot water. It is necessary to wash products from such a fabric in barely warm water without applying any effort. It is recommended to add a few tablespoons of baby shampoo to the water. The thing should be held for several minutes in a similar solution on one and the other side.

It must never be wrinkled. After this, the clothes should be thoroughly rinsed also in warm water. You can not twist or forcefully squeeze the product from the angora. You need to place it on a terry towel and get it wet well. After that, the thing is also spread on a dry towel, which must be periodically changed. Be prepared for what you need to wait until the fabric is completely dry, which can take a lot of time.

Only if you carefully wear and care for things made of angora fabric, they will warm you in the cold, while maintaining their aesthetic appearance.
