The Czech Terrier can be attributed to one of the youngest dog breeds - the 20th century is considered the beginning of its history. The Czech Terrier is an author breed of dog that was bred by Frantisek Gorak, an amateur breeder from Klanowitz near Prague. Gorak set himself the goal of creating a small, lightweight dog that could take part in a burrow hunt. In a different way, it was planned to create a silihem terrier, which would be characterized by a light physique and a dark coat color, so that such an animal could easily crawl through narrow burrows, while not getting dirty.

In 1948, the scientist crossed a male Sealyham Terrier and a female Scotch Terrier. After the puppies appeared, he already worked with the kids. The first show of the Czech Terrier took place at the exhibition in 1959, and after 4 years the breed was officially recognized by the International Cynological Federation. To date, representatives of the breed are considered rare dogs.

The Czech Terrier is a small breed of dog with a strong rectangular-shaped body. The animal has short limbs, well muscled muscles and elongated hair. The expression of sexual demorphism is moderate. The pet is characterized by growth at the withers of 0.25-0.32 meters and a body weight of 6-10 kilograms.
