"Little Men" need to look neat and tidy. To do this, you have to cut or trim the hair at least a couple of times a month. But such regular visits to the hairdresser are not always convenient, and this significantly affects the family budget. You can cut your child’s hair at home. The article will discuss how to do this correctly and accurately.
What is needed
Of course, there is no need to equip a real hairdressing salon at home. It is only desirable to prepare some tools and fixtures that will greatly facilitate your work.
- It is best for a child to cut while sitting. In this case, he will not tire and can be as motionless as possible. And so that it is convenient for you to carry out movements with scissors, the seat should not be too low and not too high. The best option is when the baby’s head is approximately at the level of your chest.
- The back of the chair should not be high, so as not to block the back of the head. If the furniture in your home is too low, place 1-2 cushions on the seat. Thus, you will adjust the height of the child’s seat to the one that is most convenient.
- In order not to waste time after sweeping the hair from the child’s clothes, take care of the cloak. Its role may be a thin film or an old plastic tablecloth of the right size. You can fix it with office clips or household clothespins.
- Water spray. An ordinary spray bottle and a plastic bottle will do.
- Hair clipper. It may be needed to cut individual sections, depending on the hairstyle you have chosen.
- Comb or comb with frequent small cloves.
- Well, the main tool without which a haircut is unthinkable is scissors. Here they are best purchased in specialized departments.
The fact is that household or office scissors do not have sufficient strength and sharpness of the cutting surfaces. Therefore, they do not cut the hairs, but for the most part break them. This complicates the work of the shearing, and the child will deliver a lot of discomfort. And the result, most likely, will not be very accurate.
It is also better to stock up with so-called thinning scissors. They will give the haircut a certain style.
Preparation for work
Sometimes children, especially preschool children, do not tolerate the haircut process. Because of this, during each visit to the hairdresser, one has to pacify their tears and moods. Perhaps the home environment will alleviate the situation a little, and your child will behave calmly.
Tell the boy in advance that you will cut him. Let him hold the scissors and other tools. If the child is very protesting against the upcoming haircut, try to present it to him as a game. Mom or dad will be a hairdresser, and he will be a well-educated and intelligent boy who comes to have a haircut. You can also promise the child a reward for good behavior, for example, a favorite sweet.
Perhaps, during the haircut you will face another problem. Children are often very difficult to get to sit still. To distract the baby during the process, turn on the cartoon. You can also ask your older sister or grandmother to read him a fairy tale.
If the boy is not at all inclined to a haircut, it is better to postpone it. In a bad mood, he still will not listen to your requests and will not let you cut him well.
As for the hair, they do not require special preparation before cutting. It is desirable that they are just clean.
Simple haircut technique
- Set the child on a chair and cover it with a cloak from the shoulders, securing its upper edge around the neck.
- Spray hair from a spray bottle so that it is moderately wet over its entire length.
- Ask the boy to tilt his head slightly and hold it in that position.
- Start with hair that grows on the back of the head above the neck. Comb them and separate a small strand. Grab it with your fingers and cut the ends to the required length.
- Take your time at work. Learning to cut with scissors correctly is not difficult at all, the main thing is to act carefully. Visually remember how much you shortened the hair in the lock.
- When choosing the cut length, remember that after drying, the hairs will be slightly shortened. So cut with a "margin."
- In the same way, separating the strands, make a border. That is, cut the hair from the back of the head to the auricles to the same length.
- Next, focusing on the already trimmed strands, remove the length on the upper and side sections of the head. All hair should be visually the same.
- We cut the bangs at our discretion. It will be too short to puff, so it makes sense to leave the forehead a strand a little longer.
This way you get the simplest neatest haircut. It is well suited for preschool boys.
Having mastered the methods of trimming and cutting strands, you can make your child more interesting and model hairstyles.
Volumetric haircut scheme
For older boys, the following option may be suitable - shortened hair on the back of the head, while a longer and more voluminous crown.
- Spray some water on your hair to moisturize it enough.
- Tilt the child's head slightly so that you can clearly see the back of the head.
- Comb all the hair, then divide it into two halves. The separation line should extend from ear to ear through the back of the head. To do this, draw a comb along the designated trajectory, making a horizontal parting.
- So that the hair from the front and top of the head does not interfere with you, stab them with clips or invisible.
- Separate a small strand at the very bottom, cut it to the desired length. Next, shorten all the hair to the line of the parting you made, focusing on the strand cut by the very first. As a result, the hair on the occipital, lower lateral and temporal parts should be the same.
- Remove the clips and clips from the top of the hair. Here you need to leave the length about 2-2.5 times longer than on the back of the head and on the sides of the head. We also cut the hairs in small strands, tracking the length.
- To give a more stylish look, use thinning scissors at the end. Treat them with hair on the top and top of the head, that is, those sections that are longer. Just run them along the strands from the base to the tips. These scissors selectively thin out the hairs, making a beautiful "ladder".
You can use an electric clipper to create this type of haircut. This will greatly simplify and shorten the entire process. The clipper processes the occipital, temporal, and also sections above the ears. The remaining strands are cut with scissors to the desired length.
Haircuts for boys
When you master the work with ordinary and thinning scissors, you will be able to not only clean the length of the hair, but also experiment with the style. Below are descriptions of popular haircuts for boys of senior preschool and primary school ages (6-12 years).
- "Under the pot" - A fairly common hairstyle model. It suits boys with straight, not too thick hair. The haircut is distinguished by a rather long fringe and an even cut of hair along the line around the circumference of the head. The length of the "heap" should reach the ears or a couple of centimeters below. The hair on the bottom of the head is cut almost under the hedgehog using a hair clipper.
- Extension of the occipital strand is a very stylish welcome. The strand can be braided with a thin pigtail or left loose. At the same time, the rest of the hair is cut under a “hedgehog” or a little longer.
- Haircuts with a pattern very popular among adolescents and boys of transitional age. With the help of a clipped pattern on the temporal part or on the back of the head, the “little man” can declare his personality. Creating a pattern, of course, will require some skill. But with due diligence to master this technique will work at home.
- Classic bean can beautify a boy with the right features. The length of the hair varies and can reach the chin. But when wearing this hairstyle, you will have to take care of the timely washing of your hair. Otherwise, they turn into drooping sebaceous curls.
- Beaver haircut is a more athletic version of the "pot". The difference is that with this model of hairstyle, elongated hair remains only on the crown. The contours of the “mop” are rounded as much as possible.
Tips
- For young children, a very fashionable haircut is not so important. Trim the boy so that he and your hair do not cause inconvenience.
- Be extremely careful when working with scissors. Make it clear to your child that you don’t need to move your head, turn or get up during a haircut.
- Do not try to cut the baby when he is in a bad mood or, on the contrary, is excited with something. Carefully cutting the hair in this case still does not work, in addition, you risk injuring him or yourself.
- To ensure that the child does not have a negative mood for cutting in the future, be sure to praise him for his good behavior. Give positive feedback on his new haircut. Say that he looks so much more mature and prettier.
- Consider the type of face and, at least partially, the desire of the "little man" about his hairstyle. Agree, it’s very unpleasant to have that appearance that you do not like at all.
- Do not strive to make a trendy haircut for a little boy. It looks out of place and pretentious.
- Also, boys should not do hairstyles that require styling. The child himself will definitely not do this.In addition, during active games, gels and varnishes still will not save, and their use significantly weakens immature thin hair.
