Recently, attributes that were popular in the post-war years are increasingly being introduced into the modern world of fashion. Women's fashion of that time was distinguished by courage, elegance and some surrealism that ladies often look for in modern wardrobe elements, wanting to stand out and emphasize their individuality. In the 20s, fashion was forced to move from a delicate romantic theme to modernism, due to which designers of that time had more space for creativity.

The post-war 20s were characterized by high industrial and economic growth. During this period, girls began to master men's professions, which required some victims from them. Many women had to abandon corsets or uncomfortable maxi length skirts, which was why the designers of that time had a difficult task - to come up with clothing silhouettes that would still emphasize the femininity of their owners, but at the same time be as comfortable as possible.

In the United States during the same period, women received suffrage, as a result of which many girls began to actively strive to be on a par with men, which influenced not only their manner of dressing, but also behaving in public.

They easily exchanged quiet social events for noisy parties in bars and pubs, as well as funny dances until the morning. During the day, women gave themselves up to responsible work, and at night went in search of adventure.

The ladies entered into fashion smoking, as well as alcohol abuse, which greatly influenced not only their general perception, but also on the figure. Due to addictions and an active lifestyle, the “girl-boy” has become a new ideal.A lean figure combined with carefully laid short hair, open shoulders and a short skirt, deliberate self-confidence along with the desire to delight the audience around him, made them even more sexy in the eyes of many men.

However, the designers did not simplify this task at all. At that time it was difficult to beautifully emphasize such a female figure. Clothing cut has become simpler, but more functional and comfortable. And for designers, the main focus of women's wardrobe was decor.

In America, such talented and famous couturiers as Jeanne Pakin, Jacques Patou and Jacques Doucet created a new ideal for a girl from the beginning of the 20th century. Its main and most striking feature was independence, which was emphasized by the fitted silhouettes of dresses with spectacular decoration elements and incredibly stylish models of suits and coats with a lowered waistline.

The cut of evening dresses was sure to expand slightly downwards, so that the girl who lived in the era of the revival of jazz, shimmy and foxtrot was comfortable moving on the dance floor. Dancing at that time really became a real passion for many women. That is why various elements of decor, for example, “pendants”, which actively shook the girl during the dance and gave her a certain charm, came into fashion.

In the USSR, at the same time, women's fashion was actively formed around the needs of the country after the war and emphasized convenience and its maximum practicality. Feminine light dresses were replaced by straight soldier midi skirts and cloth jackets.

Casual dresses were sewn from canvas and had a simple look. Increasingly, on the streets one could meet a woman dressed in a large commissar leather jacket, a cap and straight trousers tucked into boots. This style of woman became a symbol of the working people, whose primary task was the restoration of the country after a long war ruin.

Women's fashion in America during this period became more bold. Innovative fashion designers such as Coco Chanel and Madeleine Vionne extremely diversified the women's wardrobe, borrowing something from the men's wardrobe and looking at old things from a new angle. Straight trousers in combination with bright tops, whose straps were tied around the neck, became a favorite thing of young beauties.

And it was during this period that cosmetics became the "best friend" of every woman. Its active use in combination with spectacular outfits made the ladies very extravagant, but at the same time incredibly flirty personalities. Properly applied long arrows, blush, dark shadows, as well as red lipstick and the same shade of nail polish emphasized and enhanced the natural beauty of young girls.

In the same period, the height of the skirts jumped to the point of indecency, successfully breaking the knee line, which gave impetus to the development of the so-called gangster style of gun moll - fighting friends.

It is this title that fatal women received, whose beloved belonged to the world of banditry and robbery. For them, their own spectacular style has developed, which emphasized the special atmosphere of gangster lovers - an explosive mixture of danger and sexuality.

The gangster style of clothing for women most often included a dress made of silk or velvet, a light fur cape, high stockings and, of course, jewelry, which highlighted the beauty of its owner with their brilliance.

The style of women in the USSR by this time became more liberated and feminine. The production at the sewing enterprises was established, the first Soviet fashion magazines were issued, which encouraged the Komsomol women to dress more elegantly.The haircuts above the shoulders, in particular, the square, came into fashion. Dresses began to have a baggy look and were sewn slightly above the knees, and the cut in the European manner had a lowered waistline. From shoes, preference was given to closed shoes with a stable heel-wineglass.

For business women also began to actively produce stylish suits. As an evening option - satin dresses with a deep neckline, which very effectively emphasized female forms. Such popular hats as a bell-hat, talk and berets actively broke into the everyday life of women's fashion.

Designers are increasingly turning to the retro elements of the last century for inspiration. In 2007-2008, many famous Fashion houses made attempts to return spectacular dresses of the early 1920s to everyday life. However, for that time, such models, which so transparently copied the style of fatal ladies, were too bold.

This year, many fashion designers and designers again showed us echoes of the style of the 20th year in their new collections. Basically, it can be seen in the simple silhouettes of dresses sewn from spectacular velvet, as well as in some fitted models that look like an elongated shirt and are often characterized by the term “linen style”.
