Such a piece of furniture, like a bedspread, initially performed a more practical function - it served for heat. Artificial tissue analogs do not have these shortcomings, but can accumulate static electricity, sometimes they are not so pleasant to the touch.However, we immediately make a reservation that such a division is arbitrary. Most products are combined bedspreads. That is, natural and vice versa are added to artificial threads. This allows you to improve the operational properties of the bedspreads, as well as significantly reduce the cost of the product.

The most common varieties of bedspreads are:

• cotton fabrics, as well as their mixture with artificial fabrics, resulting in a dense weaving fabric with a smooth surface (poplin, viscose, calico, percale);
• cotton, wool and mixed materials with a rough surface (jacquard, tapestry, pique);
• natural or synthetic (as well as mixed versions) fabrics with a fleecy surface (velor, faux fur with short and long nap, plush, velvet);
• synthetic fabrics made of polyester fibers (velsoft, fleece, microfiber);

Cotton and silk products are distinguished by external attractiveness, practicality, environmental friendliness. Fleecy and velvet bedspreads look no less attractive, but attract dust and are not recommended for use by allergy sufferers. For their cleaning, as a rule, you have to use dry cleaning services.

In Soviet society, one of the most important criteria for choosing a bedspread was its maximum compliance with curtains and curtains. Whenever possible curtains and bedspreads were sewn from the same fabrics, however, today designers recognize this with a bad manners.

To determine the dimensions of the bedspreads, you need to know the dimensions of the bed. Before buying, you should measure the length, width and height. The obtained parameters are the minimum size of the bedspread.. Ideally, this figure should be added another 10-15 cm on each side.
