Curtains make the design of any room complete and significantly decorate the space. The situation in the bedroom directly affects a healthy sleep and, accordingly, the well-being of a person. For this reason, the choice of curtains in the bedroom should be given special attention.

Features

The modern fashion trend in the design of windows are double curtains, which perform several functions:

  • decorate the room;
  • complement the decor;
  • emphasize the overall style;
  • make the desired emphasis;
  • add coziness;
  • give completeness to design;
  • allow you to adjust the lighting.

These curtains consist of two wide canvases that are placed one on top of the other. As an addition, lambrequins, bows, garters or brushes can be used.

The absence of large folds greatly simplifies the maintenance of the curtains. In the design of the bedroom with double curtains, you can give vent to imagination.

After all, here you can not only combine different shades, but also fabrics of different density and texture.

Materials and colors

But when choosing, it is worth taking into account the style of decoration of the room and decor elements, as well as the color scheme of the room. The merging of tones should be excluded, such a room will look blurry and faded. In the presence of the main beige color, curtains of brown tones are perfect. Very often, the bedroom is decorated in calm blue shades, in which case it is better to choose the curtains in indigo color.

The bedroom is more suitable for double curtains in soft, not too saturated tones.

A thick curtain with a light, transparent tulle is perfect for a bedroom window. Now, many designers for this purpose use curtains from a fabric such as blackout. It consists of three layers, each of which performs a specific function:

  • external - beats off the sun's rays;
  • central - protects from outside heat;
  • back - plays a decorative role.

Often, double curtains with lambrequins are used in bedrooms, where grommets are used as fasteners. The room looks harmonious if the texture of curtains in it is combined with other textile products: upholstery, bedspreads or tablecloth.

There is no need to choose the exact same fabric, but a similar shade or print will look elegant.

You can also play in contrast with the main range of the interior and create spectacular combinations:

  • golden and azure;
  • lilac and light green;
  • cornflower blue and light pink;
  • straw and purple.

For double curtains, a combination of lilac-violet or brownish-green shades is well suited. The classic black and white duet looks just as beautiful, and chocolate with light brown look no less spectacular.

Varieties

Double curtains can be of several types, differing both in design and texture. This variety allows you to choose curtains for various interior styles.

  • Japanese curtains different from the usual curtains for us. They consist of completely straight canvases, without folds and frills. Basically they come in pastel colors. But, in addition to plain, the fabric can also be with bright patterns. In the role of fastening such curtains, runners are used.
  • Roman consist of two panels, the lower one is translucent, and the upper one is quite dense. Height is regulated by special mechanisms. Such curtains well adjust the level of illumination of the room.
  • Curtains represented by roller blinds folded in two layers, and consist of fabrics of different textures. One of them is light and translucent, and the other is dense, not transmitting light. A special device helps to adjust the distance between the fabrics, thereby adjusting the degree of illumination of the bedroom in accordance with their needs. This type of curtains is very practical, because it is suitable for both day and night.
  • Portieres consist of the lower layer made of tulle, and the upper - of dense curtains. Such double curtains make it possible to adjust the penetration of sunlight into the room.
  • Pleated curtains made of pleated fabric, which is mounted on an aluminum profile in the form of horizontal blinds. On the window they are placed using strings stretched between the cornices. Due to the fact that the threads pass through all the folds of the curtain, it easily opens and closes, as well as simply fixed at the desired level. The main advantage of this type of curtains is the ability to fix on windows of any configuration. Environmentally friendly material is impregnated with a special solution that helps repel dirt and dust.
  • Double Layer Curtains from tulle and organza make the room very bright and give it tenderness and lightness. Translucent fabrics penetrate sunlight well and create a slight haze on the window. From such fabrics you can create different combinations, experiment with length or shape. Folds on curtains of this kind look very prominent.
  • "Hourglass" from pieces of two types of fabric pulled together in the middle by a ribbon, they look very impressive and are well suited for decorating windows and doors.
  • Combined created from curtains and roller blinds, they provide a very comfortable atmosphere in the bedroom. With their help, you can make the room both light and completely dark.

The appearance of curtains directly depends on the quality and type of fabric. Dense materials are suitable for curtains: blackout, matting and linen, as well as silk, satin or cotton fabrics. For light curtains, it is better to take fabrics such as organza or tulle, and a mesh, cobweb or veil is also good.

Brighter colors can be added to the interior with the help of double curtains, one of which will be with drawings.

    Beautifully fit into the design of the bedroom curtains with color or geometric prints. Asymmetric curtains can also be used; with their help, it is possible to visually adjust individual room parameters.

    How to choose?

    The type of curtains is selected depending on the general style of the room.
