We will talk about what kind of specialist this is, what he does, and what requirements are presented to the applicant for this position, in our review.

Profession Description

As a rule, fitters-assemblers are employed at instrument-making, machine-building, and ship-building enterprises, as well as at many other plants and factories with technological and production lines. The main functionality of this employee is reduced to the manufacture of metal assemblies according to the proposed drawings, he makes blanks, performs measurement, cleaning and washing of parts. The duties of the fitter include the preparation of assemblies for further welding or some other work processes, he is engaged in the bending and fitting of steel plates, the assembly of metal structures and repair. In addition, a specialist in this area can realize his professional skills as a master in the assembly of trailers for passenger vehicles, equipment and automation.

Related specialties include the work of machine tools, electricians, adjusters and toolmakers of various types of equipment and varieties of mechanisms, as well as repair technicians of various profiles.

Directions

In accordance with the current ETKS, assemblers are divided into categories depending on the scope of labor.

Aeronautical engineering

Aircraft technician performs:

  • assembly and mechanical operations aimed at fine-tuning and fitting of the main elements included in the basic assembly;
  • he is engaged in pressing pins, fasteners of all types and screws;
  • performs sizing of parts, washing of working units, as well as assembly units in a gasoline-alcohol mixture;
  • the functionality also includes the assembly of transformers and filling the coil window with plates, the subsequent alignment of the core plates along the end;
  • conducts tinning of the cables of the frame by dipping into the molten solder, lubricating the cracks between the magnetic circuit and the frame of the structure with adhesive compounds;
  • solders electronic microcircuits of various degrees of complexity;
  • checks the accuracy of fitting and assembly work through special instruments and instrumentation.

Aircrafts

Assembly fitter working with aircraft performs the following manipulations:

  • disassembling the main components according to the drawings, as well as disassembling the aircraft installations of medium complexity;
  • fine-tuning, as well as installation of aircraft engines using a precast tool;
  • mounting bolts on pre-prepared holes;
  • fixing the elements of aircraft systems with screws;
  • collapsible assembly of simple swivel mounts;
  • carrying out basic manipulations for metal processing;
  • cutting with a hacksaw, sanding, filing, and also removing faces;
  • unpacking and de-preservation of various units and elements of aircraft devices;
  • the movement of elements and aircraft installations through any lifting installations.

Metal structures

The functionality of the collector of aluminum metal structures includes:

  • assembly of MK assemblies as part of their preparation for further welding and cutting according to pre-drawn drawings using universal mechanisms;
  • assembly of especially complex MK assemblies using specialized assembly templates;
  • surface seals fitting;
  • marking up areas for installation of simple metal structures and basic elements;
  • assembly of complicated metal structures;
  • repair of individual elements and components of MK performed in contact with the electric welder;
  • experimental testing of pneumatic and hydraulic components of the MK, operating under high pressure.

Also distinguish the direction associated with the assembly of motors. In this area, the competence of the assembly fitter includes:

  • locksmithing of the simplest and most sophisticated engine elements;
  • removal of traces of rust from the surface of elements;
  • analysis of simple components of engines, as well as communications of fuel and oil systems;
  • assembly of primitive structural units of engines that do not require ultra-precise fit;
  • cotter pinion, locking and branding of non-essential elements of motors;
  • pumping of oil channels, engine boxes;
  • fixing between themselves pipelines using nipple mounts;
  • flushing motor elements under pressure;
  • visual inspection of the technical condition of the surface of the main components of the motors;
  • taking measurements of the main elements of engines with the help of special tools, for example, vernier calipers.

Job description

Generally speaking, each assembly fitter is engaged in the assembly of any machines - these may be automobiles, production machines and other equipment. With a single disassembly, the machine assembly adjusts the parts. If the employee performs actions in the framework of mass production, then all the parts and elements of machines and devices are usually made so precisely that they can be assembled even without adjustment. This type of assembly was called in-line, it many times reduces the fatigue of workers, facilitates their work and makes the functioning of the assembly shop safe.

If a few years ago, the assembly process included a wide variety of works related to the manual processing of metals, today the leading trend in the development of instrumentation and mechanical engineering has become the widespread automation of production processes for processing materials and assembling elementary assemblies. Therefore, the direction and content of the locksmith's work has fundamentally changed. So, in automated production, a complex technological system by itself carries out the entire production process. All the equipment necessary for this is mounted by highly qualified fitters and assemblers and adjusted for work by the master.

In production workshops, operators are sitting near control panels - they control the arrival of light signals that show whether the production equipment is working correctly. If breakdowns occur, fitters must carry out the necessary repairs.

That is why people are obliged to well know all the complex automatic equipment installed in the workshop, quickly and clearly carry out assembly and disassembly, as well as the preparation of the nodes of its main elements.
