On the eve of International Women's Day, all men are in search of a gift that will please their beloved women. A beautiful addition to any present will be beautiful cards made using scrapbooking technique, made independently.
Features
On March 8, men often give cards, but usually they buy ready-made versions with a written poem or words of wishes. However, girls are much more pleased to receive a do-it-yourself surprise. Cards made using the scrapbooking technique are ideal for this case - such a present just does not want to redo anyone.
The scrapbooking technique appeared in 1830, and literally translates as “a book of pieces”.
More specifically, this is a book, postcard or album, glued from photographs, newspaper clippings, letters, magazines, figures, flowers, colored paper, bows and many other available materials. There is no classification of cards made using the scrapbooking technique, but you can divide them into two main types.
- Flat. Without voluminous figures, flowers and bows. Most often they are not disclosing, but simply bilateral.
- Voluminous. Most often with flowers, numbers, some kind of pattern or bow. There may be such cards open or double-sided: front - the main part, and back - with the words of congratulations.
Also cards can be of a certain form: triangular, round, oval or in the form of number. The last option is often applied to the holiday on March 8, accompanied by spring colors: green and pink, gluing flowers. And as a photo, images of nature or the most vivid photographs of a lady are used.
Cards made using the scrapbooking technique are ideal for preserving important memories and do not limit the imagination of donors.
A common option is a surprise card, when, for example, the master makes a flower of sweets on the front side. Sweets are eaten as a result, and candy wrappers make up a flower on a postcard.
A characteristic feature of scrapbooking is that there are no restrictions in this technique, and any materials at hand can be used. The number of ideas and surprises when creating this gift is also not limited. One should only remember that on a card made using the scrapbooking technique, one should not stop, and it is advisable to present a substantial gift.
Necessary materials and tools
It is best to use the materials available at home, but sometimes you have to buy something.
To create a classic postcard, we need:
- cardboard, scrapbooking paper, craft or other heavy paper;
- color thin paper;
- stationery knife and scissors;
- PVA glue, pencil or “Moment”;
- ruler;
- double-sided or at least ordinary adhesive tape;
- gel pens;
- fabric or paper with a beautiful written inscription;
- pictures with your favorite flowers being presented, butterflies and plush toys;
- figures in the form of hearts, beads and a decorative bow (if not, it can be made of colored paper).
When selecting materials for creating postcards, special attention should be paid to the color scheme.
It is necessary that the colors are combined, the same applies to glued figures, animals and selected photos.
The contrast will knock out various elements from the composition and the girl will not be able to enjoy the integrity of the creation created by your hands.
How to make?
Let's look at a few simple postcard creation workshops.
Double sided
This is the easiest gift option.
Step-by-step instruction.
- Based on the color scheme, choose paper that creates the background of the card. On the line of two scrap papers, fasten a double-sided tape, and stick on it a pre-prepared ribbon with a fold;
- Glue the resulting front part onto the cut-out base: cardboard, craft or thick scrap paper of the desired size. Glue a flower or other figure to the ribbon with chopped leaves;
- Attach the prepared inscription: "Happy March 8!" in the form of a rectangle in the lower right corner.
Folding
This option is good because there will be enough space inside the surprise to express all your wishes.
Creating a postcard is as follows.
- Having decided on the size, cut the blank from the selected paper.
- Attach the ruler to the workpiece and draw along it with the back of the clerical knife, without pressing hard. So you can get the fold line. Glue strips of pre-cut scrap paper on the prepared basis in the appropriate color scheme. Glue a strip of lace on the right side.
- Cut the inscription: "March 8", for this you can pre-purchase stamps.
- Glue the inscription to the workpiece by threading a rope through it.
- Butterflies can fly away from the inscription to the side, flowers can grow, or ladybugs can sit on it. The choice of figures and applications always remains with the master.
In the lower corner you can stick a photo of your favorite animal girl, a button or other three-dimensional figure.
Thematic
The thematic postcard is more difficult to manufacture, since care and accuracy are required here.
Stages of creation.
- Fold the cardboard, or thick scrap paper twice, and cut the number 8 so that the figure eight is connected in its lower part. In the upper part of the front side, make a hole in the form of a circle;
- Stick on the back of the photo of the lady, her favorite animals or memorable places so that they are visible in this circle. Stick a nice picture on the front part below.
- Add to the bottom of the postcard a pre-prepared inscription.
- Stick on top of the numbers bows, butterflies, gifts, flowers - everything that is available.
In the process of creating a greeting card with your own hands, you can add volume figures, rhinestones, and beads to it. But remember that measure is important in everything. It is also worth considering several recommendations from professionals:
- it is best to build a composition in advance;
- do not overfill the card with many different details;
- try to give the present volume;
- Use a hair dryer to quickly dry glue, watercolors and other liquid materials.
A postcard made using scrapbooking technique can not only become a wonderful and memorable souvenir, but also contribute to the development of creative hobbies in the future. A variety of ideas and an individual approach to creating postcards, photo albums, books and diaries on this technique makes each product unique.
Having mastered scrapbooking, you can give crafts to your loved ones and friends for any event and holiday.
