The perception of the whole room depends on how the tulle looks on the windows. At the same time, airy fabric tends to turn gray and yellow over time. In order for the window decoration to last for a long time, while maintaining an elegant look, you can wash it in an automatic machine. The right approach in this matter will make cleaning things as efficient as possible.

Washing features

Various translucent fabrics are used to create beautiful window curtains. It could be:

  • organza;
  • veil;
  • grid;
  • Kisei.

Different types of fabrics are made from natural or artificial raw materials:

  • cotton
  • viscose;
  • silks;
  • synthetics.

It is necessary to wash the tulle in the washing machine, taking into account the characteristics of the fabrics.

    So, when processing cotton, the temperature should be at the level of 40-60 degrees.

      Previously, “clothes for the window” is soaked, choosing the appropriate mode. Rinse these curtains at least 2 times.

      Other curtains are washed at a temperature of 30-40 degrees. Many of them do not wring. It all depends on the characteristics of the fabrics, if they, for example, are synthetic.

      Selection of funds

      The choice of laundry detergent depends on what material is used to sew the tulle.

      For all types of fabrics, gels and powders that process children's items are suitable. Organza, Kisei and the veil can be washed with special shampoos and gels.

      Although organza, like cotton and nylon, can be processed with ordinary powder. For silk items, you can use a special balm.

      But ordinary powder for such a delicate structure is harmful.

      Alkalis that are present in products of this kind spoil the weaving of silk threads. After washing, the curtains will lose their beauty, and soon they will want to be noticed by others.

      Given all these features, you should choose household chemicals in the store.

      General rules

      There are general principles for washing tulle in an automatic machine. Whatever the basis of a particular curtain, it should be treated as carefully as possible so that the window decoration remains elegant.

      To refresh such things is necessary at least 3 times a year. Although if the house is not in a particularly favorable (from an environmental point of view) place - near the road or in an area where there is some kind of production nearby, then you will have to wash more often.

      Before putting the veil in the automatic machine, the hooks are removed from it and shaken on the balcony - this will allow part of the dust accumulated on the surface of the material to move away. Thanks to this, you don’t have to start washing again when it turns out that the curtains are not completely clean.

      Pour a lot of gel into the machine before washing or generously sprinkle the powder should not be. Excess detergent will remain in the curtain and it will become washed out. It will be correct to halve the usual amount of detergent. For a mesh or very thin fabric, this is enough, given that over time, while the thing is spinning in a typewriter, it creates a large amount of foam around itself.

      When washing, it is advisable to use a special bag that will not allow the tulle placed in it to be damaged. A thing needs to be rolled up when placed in a drum, and not poked into it in a pile so that then there are no bands left on it.

      Also, do not try to wash several curtains at the same time or combine their washing with things of the same color. When enough space is left in the machine, washing and rinsing is more effective.

      Even if it is not known thoroughly what type of fabric was used for sewing, tulle scroll in the drum in a delicate mode. In this case, the quantity speed does not exceed 600, and water when washing Heats up no higher than 40 degrees. It must be borne in mind that if the liquid is hot, the curtains will become shorter or warp.

      After the washer has worked, it is not necessary to immediately remove a clean thing from it. Sometimes it is more profitable to give time until the water drains, since some fabrics do not have to be wrung out at all along the way, and you also do not want to plant dampness in the house. But this applies only to matters that are not too crumpled.

      How to bleach?

      To make the tulle lighter and remove the yellowish tint, the so-called optical or oxygen bleaches will help. Special products can be found on shelves in household chemical stores.

      Optical brighteners act on the principle of reflection of particles deposited on the surface of the material. But taking into account their features, it is better to use such tools only on a pure white tulle. Colored translucent fabrics can lose their appeal if they are affected by such chemistry.

      As for oxygen bleaches, you must immediately consider that they are not cheap, although by purchasing such a tool, it can be used without fear on any fabric, since it does not violate the structure of the material and also works effectively even at low water temperatures.

      If there is no extra money for special bleaches, you can use blue and even green. 4-5 drops of such a product are diluted in a glass of water so that they are completely dissolved, and pour liquid into the machine through the air conditioning compartment. (If the chemistry is not completely dissolved in water, color stains will remain on things in the machine).

      Tulle is also refreshing with common salt, which acts as bleach. It is added to the powder - a couple of tablespoons. Then they wash their “clothes for windows” in accordance with the rules for processing things of this kind.

      It is also advised to add a tablespoon of soda or a bag of baking powder for the test to the machine. Hydrogen peroxide, as well as ammonia, also acts as a brightener for the fabric.

      It is possible before sending to the machine soak the window cloth for a couple of hours in a solution, where 5 tablespoons of ammonia and peroxide are needed per 5 liters of liquid, and you can add a little H2O2 directly to the washer.

      In addition, experienced housewives are advised to add 2 tablespoons of vinegar to the machine, when it comes to the last rinse of the tulle. After washing, the processed item will become brighter and whiter.

      How to dry?

      The advantage of tulle is that it dries very quickly. But it should be borne in mind that if it is left folded after washing, the creases on the fabric will be visible from afar, and it is not so easy to smooth them, especially considering that some fabrics cannot be “introduced to the iron” at all. The curtains removed from the machine are easiest to hang over the bathtub, allowing moisture to drain.

      If the liquid no longer drips, you can hang the tulle to its rightful place in the wet form, since such things still need to be dried in an upright position.
