• thick black cardboard;
• a small piece of black fleece;
• transparent tape;
• Super glue;
• a simple pencil or pen;
• scissors;
• a pair of brushes for painting and glue;
• varnish;
• decorations to your preference (optional).

Action algorithm:

• Cut a rectangle from cardboard that is equal in length to the diameter of the head, and a couple of centimeters is added to the folds and seams. You can select any width. Using transparent tape, you need to connect the edges of the rectangle and make the hollow cylindrical figure happy.

• On a sheet of cardboard draw an even circle equal in diameter to the circumference of the cylinder - this will be the so-called bottom of the headgear. Then around the first circle you need to draw exactly the second, a couple of centimeters different from the first.

• Cut the last drawn circle and make small serifs to the level of the first circle - create the so-called fringe. Bend this fringe into a small circle.

• Glue gently on the fringe and place a circle on the bottom of the cylinder. For greater efficiency, glue the bottom with tape.

• Then you need to think about creating hat fields. To do this, draw a circle on the cardboard equal to the upper circumference of the garment. After around it, you need to draw another circle, already larger in diameter, and cut both circles so that a ringlet is obtained.

• On the ring, you also need to create a kind of fringe and glue it with glue and adhesive tape to the other side of the cylinder in the same way as the bottom was glued.

• Glue a strip of fleece onto the inside of the cylinder — the one that will come in direct contact with the head. Then coat the hat with varnish and add jewelry (if necessary).

This is only one of the options for creating a do-it-yourself headgear. In addition, the cylinder hat is also made of felt, genuine leather or suede according to a similar principle - simply all cardboard parts are sewn or glued to the fabric material, and then glued to each other in the above manner.

It should be noted that the headdress made of felt is very warm and can warm your head in cold weather, and the leather version looks luxurious, but at cost it is quite expensive. Therefore, the choice of material for the hat should depend on the purpose of this accessory and the frequency of its use.

It’s not at all necessary to create a headdress of this type with your own hands - it can be easily purchased both in a specialized store and on the Internet. Such a purchase, depending on the type, color, presence or absence of jewelry, the material from which it is made, can cost from 200 to 1500 rubles. On average, a female black cylinder hat costs 450 rubles. The red hat will come out more expensive - about 780 rubles.

In the modern age, cylinders are mostly used by women than men. And if you do not take into account costume parties, masquerades and acting details, then this headdress has long been a fashionable trend in women's fashion.
