A scarf is not only a necessary thing for autumn and winter, so as not to freeze, but also a stylish fashion accessory. With it, you can complement and emphasize the image or even make up if you choose a long model. The most popular and affordable material is rightly wool, but everyone still wants to have at least one cashmere scarf, because this is a first-class product in terms of quality and appearance.

Features

Cashmere, aka “wool gold”, is the undercoat, down of mountain Himalayan goats or kids, depending on the category of material. Raw materials are collected by hand, by combing the animals during spring molting, when there is no longer any fear that they will freeze. Goats, whose undercoat is used, are bred in several countries, but not all raw materials are equally good.

The best material is considered to be that assembled in China and Mongolia, and in Iran, India and Afghanistan it is a little tougher.

Due to the fact that raw materials are not so common, and because of the manual technology for collecting undercoat, cashmere products, including scarves, are expensive.

There are two types of this material: cashmere itself and more elite, rare and expensive - pashmina, which is subtle.

Cashmere is a little thicker than pashmina and at a price it is not as expensive, and yet, its cost is higher than that of ordinary woolen scarves. That is why large and famous fashion houses have collections with cashmere scarves.

Cashmere products, although quite thin, are actually very warm, and their weight is small. In addition, this material is very pleasant to the touch, soft, does not cause allergies and irritation, does not prick.

If silk is added to the cashmere, the scarf is smooth, with a special sheen, and cheaper. Silk is added in order to reduce the price of the product and increase the wear resistance. But even without impurities, cashmere can last for many years, while maintaining an excellent appearance, since it does not roll.

Fashion trends

A scarf is a fairly simple product, which is a strip of fabric tied around the neck. They can be of different lengths: from the shortest, when the scarf is carefully thrown around the neck, or long, the edges of which hang down to the knees.

The shape is square, rectangular, triangular. Scarf tips can end in fringe. Despite its simplicity, fashion trends for this product may vary from season to season.

Outside of time and trends, there remains a classic rectangular scarf of medium length from cashmere. Such a scarf will suit any look: not only classic and business, but also romantic. Fortunately, the cashmere scarf is warm enough to wear not only in autumn but also in winter. Those who are freezing can choose thicker scarf patterns rather than light thin ones.

Among the styles this season, wide stoles and long scarves that are worn over outerwear, such as coats, or jackets and sweaters draped over the shoulders, are in fashion. Often, such a model becomes the main focus of the image, and to look more stylish, its edges can be tucked under a thin strap.

Most often, cashmere scarves have a natural color - black, beige, sand, chic rarity is white. In such shades, the product looks most natural, but many designers prefer to paint their creations in bright colors. Red, pink, turquoise, green, violet colors are popular.

We should also talk about prints, because geometric checkered patterns, for example, from the Burberry brand, are very popular on scarves. Of course, other patterns are also found on cashmere scarves, but much less often, and one of the fashionable novelties was the application of their initials using embroidery.

Selection tips

Cashmere is considered an elite material, products from it are quite expensive, but still it is a welcome acquisition for many women and men. The presence of demand increases the chance of encountering a fake. A logical question is brewing: how to choose a good scarf? To avoid buying low-quality goods, you should know a few rules.

  • Oddly enough, but in the first place you should pay attention to the price. Natural material from goat fluff is collected manually, due to which the final cost of the finished product increases. It should be quite high, above average, compared with woolen. Therefore, a cheap "cashmere" scarf is most likely a fake or it contains too many impurities.
  • The appearance of real cashmere should not be smooth and uniform, flat. It is quite textured, matte. A scarf will be smooth and shiny only if silk is added or, as indicated less commonly, synthetics. Cashmere is soft and gentle, should not leave unpleasant sensations when it comes into contact with the skin, and begins to warm even after a short contact.
  • The peculiarity of natural cashmere is that colored, it can not be too bright. The material is painted by hand, and due to the real natural colors, the resulting shade is a little smoky. You should especially look at white scarves, as cashmere of this color is a rarity.
  • You should even listen to the sound that makes a scarf, if you squeeze it a little. Synthetics emits a characteristic creak, while natural cashmere is "quiet."
  • It is enough to be vigilant and check the composition on the scarf label to make sure that you have a 100% cashmere product in front of you, with natural admixtures (wool and silk), or a synthetic product in which there are more than ten percent artificial materials.

Care

In order not to harm an expensive beautiful scarf, you should know how to wash it correctly. To get started, you should check the label and find out what kind of washing the manufacturer allows. It is a question of both manual and machine methods.

When washing in a machine, the water temperature should not be higher than forty degrees. Modes of washing and drying should be gentle, delicate, like detergents. It is best to purchase special powders or gels for cashmere and wool.

However, most cashmere scarves are still washed manually. As in the case of machine wash, the water should not be very hot, only tepid. It is best to use mild detergents.

The process of squeezing is also important, since cashmere can not be rubbed or twisted. Gently squeeze the foam and rinse the product under water to get rid of the remnants of all cleaning products. You can not leave cashmere wet, it should be squeezed out carefully, but carefully, otherwise it can get an unpleasant smell and attract the attention of a moth.

Care must be taken when drying. Launched cashmere cannot be stretched, and, accordingly, it should not be dried by hanging on a coat hanger or underwear. It is best to spread it on a flat surface on top of a towel for natural, natural drying. In no case should you place the scarf near the battery or in a sunny area.

After the scarf has dried, the pellets should be removed if a small amount of them appears after washing. To smooth out small bruises, you should walk along the canvas with a cold iron, pressing unevenness.
