However, it is difficult for a simple layman to understand by what criteria masters choose the appropriate type of material for their work.

Isolon for making flowers differs from its building or ordinary analogue, which, in addition to porosity and pattern, can have a foil coating. Today it is widely used for interior decoration, photo zones, and festive halls. This is a synthetic material with a roll form of release, available in widths of 1 and 1.5 m. It is produced in our country at the Izhevsk Plastic Plant. The average weight per square meter is 0.12 kg in dense varieties and 0.07 kg in thinner ones.

Isolon itself is produced not only for large artificial flowers, but also for the manufacture of slippers, a variety of rugs and even puzzles. Isolon of the PPE type is nothing but crosslinked polyethylene foam, which is obtained by foaming a porophore reagent. For this reason, PES does not contain harmful gases (in particular, freon).Its strength is higher in comparison with NPE, it can serve about a hundred years. However, it is more expensive than other analogues.

Material for the manufacture of growth flowers is different. It can be conditionally divided into the following types: PPE HP, PPE-F, PPE-R and Isolon 500. Externally, this material is characterized by a smooth surface, it is pleasant to the touch and may have a noble satin sheen.

This raw material does not get wet, it is used by professional craftsmen engaged in the production of large flowers to order. It is frost-resistant, allows you to form curved convex-concave shapes of any degree of complexity. It can be used even when creating flower arrangements in kindergartens. Isolon is soft and warm to the touch, it is distinguished by pleasant tactile sensations, and the finished flowers from it look beautiful and realistic.

Isolon is the name of the brand, the very material for creativity, which is called Isolon, is correctly called PES. This abbreviation stands for polyethylene foam. Its specifications may vary depending on the number of foaming cycles. That is why the properties of the finished material are different.

Isolon has many advantages, for example, this material:

• characterized by high density and tensile strength, which makes it difficult to tear;
• it is convenient in cutting not only with scissors, but also with a cutter, which allows you to create straight and clear cutting lines;
• It is considered an environmentally friendly raw material for the manufacture of something, moreover, it is anti-allergenic and does not provoke the appearance of allergic reactions;
• it is inert to burning, it melts and is light in weight, and therefore does not burden large floral arrangements;
• does not grow moldy, resistant to water and moisture, the formation of pathogenic microbes;
• glues well between itself and other ornamental materials;
• may include tinting with pastel, due to which it is possible to give growth flowers a greater resemblance to real ones;
• differs in low vapor permeability, high indicators of flexibility and elasticity;
• It does not have a persistent chemical smell, does not emit toxic substances into the air, and therefore does not harm either humans or the environment;
• allows staining with various dyes (including rubber based, as well as acrylic enamel).

The uniqueness of finished products from Isolon is the fact that they can be wiped with a damp cloth (with the exception of tinted fragments). At the same time, the service life of the flowers will be long, because the isolon form can hold more than one year in a row. This material has a certificate of quality and compliance with the required standards. However, in addition to the advantages, ornamental raw materials for growth flowers have several disadvantages, for example:

• despite the assurances of the manufacturers, sometimes it suffers from transportation;
• not every type of material is suitable for creating large flowers, and therefore the choice should take into account the thickness of the raw material;
• the isolon attracts dust and is electrified, which is why it must be stored in plastic bags, and the crafts themselves must be treated with a special compound;
• It is not a universal raw material for flowers of different sizes (the larger the flowers, the greater the thickness of the isolon should be).

As for the shortcomings of working with the material, in order to achieve the best result in the process, you have to use a construction hairdryer. It is more powerful and allows you to give the blanks cut according to the patterns, the necessary shape. Another disadvantage of working with Isolon is the need to strengthen the base in complex structures.

Unlike the construction analogue, the isolon for needlework has several basic shades. For example, you can purchase roll products in the following colors from suppliers:

• white and black;
• turquoise and sky blue;
• emerald and mint;
• orange and yellow;
• coral and red;
• warm pink;
• peach and powdery;
• muted blue and deep blue;
• cold turquoise and silver gray;

For example, a white isolon is considered a bestseller: the cost per square meter of such material is 89 rubles for a thickness of 2 mm and 99 rubles for a thickness of 3 mm. Options with an adhesive layer are more expensive: say, a meter of a white rolled material with a thickness of 2 mm costs today 143 rubles, with a thickness of 3 mm the cost is 175 rubles.

As for the price for the material of 8 mm thickness, today it is 255 rubles per 1 m2. An isolon meter for making flowers 10 mm thick in white costs 349 rubles. The price of non-ferrous material averages from 115 to 147 rubles per 1 m2. Moreover, as a rule, the thicker the raw material, the greater it is.

Choosing a material for the manufacture of growth flowers, experts recommend paying attention to several criteria for a good purchase. For example, not every layman knows that the Isolon today has many analogues and even surrogates.

For example, the scope also matters. Isolon, successfully replacing foamiran, can be used to create large floral arrangements, individual elements of wedding dresses, decorating holiday tables, receptions, decorating children's parties, store stands and even landscape design. Choose a material option based on this. At the same time, not only color, but also white isolon is suitable for decoration.

The first thing you need to know: the name "Isolon" is a brand of the manufacturer. The products of other companies are noticeably inferior to it in quality, properties and characteristics. A high-quality and genuine product for needlework, manufactured by the brand, is nothing but foamed polyethylene, which is shaped into a roll with an average thickness of 2 to 10 mm.

Regardless of the production method and type of raw material, craftsmen use mainly cross-linked polyethylene for work. It differs from other analogs in a smoother type of texture, greater elasticity and durability.

Do not chase for cheap material. PES of a physically crosslinked type is more expensive than its analogues. In practice, other materials are cheaper, but their surface is rough, which will not allow the use of such an isolon for work. In other words, a purchased cheap product may remain idle.

Today, Izhevsk Plastics Plant products can be purchased from the manufacturer and his official suppliers. If you are offered, for example, analogues such as Axalyut or Penolon, then they are noticeably inferior in quality to the isolon itself. You need to take products from trusted suppliers, asking them to make light copies of the certificate, which is the accompanying documentation for each type of isolon.

Given the different possibilities of the material depending on the size, colors, it is worth noting when choosing: the best material for creativity is considered to be an isolon meter wide. From such products, you can make growth flowers up to 1 meter in diameter. A rolled analogue of one and a half meter wide allows you to create flowers with a diameter of up to 2 m. However, the shape of such a flower will be better kept if it is made of a denser raw material.

The color scheme when buying is based on the preferences of the buyer. Traditional colors are white and green. Often, for a greater resemblance to natural flowers, masters prefer to take material in related shades of the same color. Otherwise, the choice of color will depend on which particular varieties of colors you plan to make. The outer surface of the material can be different (for example, it can be embossed with a pattern).

As for the density, its indicators, depending on the type of material produced by the brand, can be 26, 33, 50, 100 and 200 kg / m3. The standard values ​​of typical raw materials for creativity are 33 kg / m3.

Technical characteristics and properties of these materials will be different, as well as the scope. It will not work with material that is not suitable for this.
