Eyelash extensions - a procedure that has conquered millions of girls around the world. What could be better than waking up “fully armed” and not need decorative cosmetics? However, the period of use of artificial eyelashes is limited, therefore after some time, you have to resort to their correction.

Features of the procedure

Eyelash Correction - procedure designed to restore their original appearance. It consists in adding artificial hairs to the "bald spots" that appeared on the site of the fallen or damaged eyelashes. In time, the correction takes less time than the buildup itself - it lasts about 40-60 minutes.

The question about the need for correction can be answered as follows: even a natural cilia does not "live" longer than 3 months - it falls out, and a new one grows in its place. And since extended eyelashes are attached to natural ones, they fall out with them. Due to the additional load, the lifespan of your own eyelashes is reduced.

Change of eyelashes, change of their length is very noticeable: artificial hairs begin to get tangled, twist, empty spots appear, which looks ugly. That is why eyelash extensions need periodic correction.

Varieties

There are 2 types of cilia correction. The choice of one of them is determined by the originally used method of building.

  • Ciliary correction. The lashmaker attaches artificial hairs individually to natural eyelashes.
  • Puchkovaya. Often used for volume building. First, a bundle of several hairs of different lengths is formed, after which it is glued to the eyelash.

Periodicity

The life span of their own “living” cilia averages one and a half months. Based on this, the first the correction procedure is recommended to be carried out 15-20 days after building. Next, the master will evaluate the condition of the eyelashes and tell you when you will need to come to the next procedure. As a rule, the interval between corrections is 30 days.

The procedure is not carried out on weakened, broken off, thinned natural cilia. If the lashmaker sees such a picture, he will recommend taking off the artificial material and letting his eyes rest. By the way, taking hormones and antibiotics, as well as hormonal “bursts” in a woman’s body lead to a decrease in the period of wearing eyelash extensions. Then the correction will need to be done more often.

The frequency of the procedure depends on the following factors.

  • From how quickly grow their own eyelashes.
  • How a girl cares for the accumulated material, Does the wizard follow all recommendations?
  • Which extension method was chosen: ciliary or bundle. In the first case, the hairs last longer.
  • How often do artificial eyelashes come in contact with water: Does the mistress visit their sauna, pool, or maybe she is a lover of swimming in the sea? Chlorine, which is present in tap water, promotes the breakdown of the adhesive, and under the influence of high temperatures it softens. All this reduces the term of use of the expanded material.
  • Using fat-based daily care productscontaining various oils or alcohol also reduces the lifespan of artificial cilia.
  • If during the process of building up / correction low-quality materials were used, then do not wait for the eyelashes to last long.
  • Saving the professionalism and experience of the lashmaker also often comes sideways.
  • Sleep face in pillow promotes breaking off of artificial hairs and their loss. Try to sleep on your back or on your side.
  • Frequent touching the eyes with hands, with a handkerchief, glasses of glasses lead to deformation of eyelash extensions, their twisting and falling out. The same thing happens when the water stream is directed directly to the face during washing.

How is it done?

The correction procedure is carried out without complete removal of artificial hairs: only overgrown elements are removed, which significantly saves time and money. However, this method is suitable only if 50% or more of the extended cilia are preserved and no more than 2-3 weeks have passed since the extension / previous correction.

Stages of the procedure:

  • the eyelashes are combed, the lashmaker distinguishes among their mass those that will soon fall away;
  • each hair (or bundle) is treated with a special tool that dissolves glue;
  • eyelashes are degreased;
  • all hair extensions attached to strongly grown natural eyelashes are removed;
  • new elements are glued to the vacant places;
  • in the same way there is an extension on eyelashes that were not used last time (they were fluffy, weak).

Many girls prefer full eyelash overdoing in every correction. It includes removing old material and building up new ones. Overgrowing has several advantages over correction:

  • you can go to it less often - once every 1.5-2 months, while they go for correction every 3-4 weeks;
  • overgrowing is more hygienic, because together with artificial cilia, the remnants of the old glue are removed along with dust, particles of skin, sebum, and the remnants of decorative cosmetics.

However, there are pluses to the correction:

  • it is cheaper, takes much less time;
  • it is possible to choose eyelashes that are identical in appearance and structure to existing ones.

How to correctly adjust the cilia (by partial removal or complete over-growth) - everyone decides for himself, evaluating the advantages and disadvantages of each method.

Follow-up care

Everything that happens after eyelash extension, one way or another affects the period of their wearing. Therefore, there are certain rules of care that must be observed. So, in the first week after the procedure, you must adhere to such recommendations.

  • It is strictly forbidden to wet the hair extensions before they pass the day after the extension / correction. During this period, the coupling of artificial material with natural occurs, the glue dries. After this time, you can rinse your eyelashes with water, pat your face slightly with a lint-free (or short-haired) towel, and gently comb them with a special silicone brush, twisting from the back.
  • Do not touch eyelashes with your hands. Even on clean fingers, there is sebum, which adversely affects the adhesive, dissolving it. In addition, from the mechanical impact, the artificial hairs twist, lose the position set by the master, and eventually fall off.
  • The first week after the build-up / correction is a taboo on visiting the bathhouse, sauna, solarium. Do not also do steam baths for the face.
  • Unlearn sleep by burying your face in the pillow.
  • If you did eyelash extension / correction and left for the sea, remember: you can safely swim and sunbathe, but snorkeling, diving are not recommended.
  • If your water supply is too chlorinated, you have to wash your face with boiled water.
  • For skin care in the orbital zone Choose light fluids and serums that do not contain oils.
  • If you like makeup, refrain from applying it at least in the first 4 days after building / correction.

How to care next:

  • for washing, it is preferable to use soap for children or a special micellar foam;
  • when wiping your face with a towel, just pat your eyelashes slightly, do not rub your eyes;
  • daily comb hairs in the morning and evening, twisting them and giving them a pristine look;
  • remove makeup from your eyes with a sponge or cotton swab, moistened with micellar water;
  • apply care products to the skin no later than a couple of hours before going to bed.

Expert Advice

The increase in the interval between visits to the lashmaker depends on the quality of everyday care for eyelash extensions. Professionals made several recommendations, adhering to which, you can postpone the procedure of correction / overshoot:

  • be sure to remove all decorative cosmetics before bedtime, both from the eyes and from the face as a whole;
  • do not use waterproof mascara;
  • carefully read the composition of any cosmetics, make sure that there is no alcohol, oils;
  • to nourish the roots of natural eyelashes, periodically do lotions on your eyelids using a decoction of chamomile, black tea, calendula, nettle;
  • if you decide to remove artificial material and let the cilia rest, it’s time to strengthen them: apply therapeutic oils along the entire length - castor, burdock, olive, coconut, almond, grape seed.

Remember the following: hair extensions can not be worn continuously for several years in a row, you must pause and remove them. If your natural eyelashes are thin and weak by nature, do intervals every 3-6 months, if strong, at least once a year.
