French braid is one of the most popular hairstyles among women. This type of hairstyle is suitable for a romantic date, business meetings or just for every day. Especially popular among schoolgirls in senior and lower grades. Such braiding can also be seen on foreign stars, models and even political figures.
A huge selection of types of braided braids will allow you to diversify the image and add to it a “highlight”. The length of the hair in no case does not matter, because braids can be braided on both long and short hair. You can learn to braid a French braid yourself, without using the services of a hairdresser. It is necessary to strictly follow the patterns and rules of weaving.
Rules for weaving
Follow a few simple rules to achieve the desired result.
- Any braid should be braided on freshly washed and well-dried hair; if they curl, when drying, you need to use a round comb or level them with an iron.
- Use additional hair care products during washing, for example, balms, masks, serums and other products, thus preventing tangling during weaving. To fix the hair, use varnish, and so that the hair does not stick out and is not disheveled, apply foam or mousse to the hair before weaving.
- Thoroughly comb your hair - as an assistant we will need a thin plastic comb with a sharp handle in order to pick up auxiliary strands from the total volume of hair.
- Follow the instructions and patterns of weaving, so as not to get confused and achieve the desired result. For fastening do not forget to get hairpins, hairpins, "invisible" or small silicone elastic bands.
- Different types of accessories will help you to emphasize the image and highlight the hairstyle. Even if you choose the usual weaving on two sides, it can be used both for a date, a gym or a regular walk - the difference will only be in the presence or absence of an accessory.
Classic french braid
There are plenty of options for weaving a French braid. The simplest one, it’s also the main one, is a classic French braid.
Before you start, comb your hair well and comb it back. Take a small lock of hair from your forehead and divide it into three equal locks. Cross the three strands that are separated, then add a bundle of hair taken from the same side of the head to one of the side strands and cross it with the central strand. Continuing the same sequence, reaching the occipital part, you can continue to weave the braid to the end, securing with an elastic band, or fasten immediately to the back of the head, leaving the tail.
Following the same pattern, you can braid two identical braids. To do this, it is necessary to make a parting from the forehead to the back of the head, so that two equal parts are obtained. Fasten one side with an elastic band or “crab” and start weaving the fluffy part of the hair in the same way as above. Having finished weaving, fasten with an elastic band and go to the remaining half. You can fix two braids in different ways.
- Having reached the occipital part, continue to weave and fasten with elastic bands at the end.
- Having reached the back of the head, immediately fasten with elastic bands, while leaving the tails - then they can be curled with the help of a curling iron or hair straightener.
- On the back of the head, connect two braids together: out of six, get three strands and weave a common ordinary braid, or you can weave a more complex braid of six strands.
- Before reaching the back of the head, fasten the two tails with elastic bands or combine into one. Loose loose fluffy hair or leave it like that.
Tighten the strands well so that the braid holds well. If you have thin hair, you can gently pull the lower part of the braid with your fingers, thus creating a small volume, or comb the hair at the roots a little before braiding.
Inverse or braid overturn
Step by step, consider the second type of French braid: reverse or braid overturn. Many consider it more difficult, but do not be so mistaken. The weaving principle remains the same as the classical one, the only difference is that the strands need to be crossed not on top of each other, but from below.
First, comb the hair back and at the forehead line, separate the strand of hair, which then needs to be divided into three strands. Following the diagram below, put the left strand under the middle one, then you need to put the right strand of hair under it. At the next stage, to the left and right strands, do not forget to pick up identical tufts of hair with the tip of a comb or with your finger and cross them under the middle strand. At the end, fasten with an elastic band.
Such weaving is characterized by stretching along the entire length of the braid, which will give the hairstyle an unreal volume and lightness. This weaving will look good on corrugated hair, your image will become more unusual and fabulous.
The back braid can be woven on two sides or on one side, starting from the right or left side of the temple, and ending on the opposite occipital side.
In addition to these options, there is a variant in the form of a zigzag. For this case, divide the hair into three parts (upper, middle and lower). When weaving the upper part and moving to the middle, do not forget to reverse the direction of braiding the braid in the opposite direction and continue in the same way. When you reach the bottom, change direction again. When you have finished braiding your hair, fasten it with an elastic band and pull the locks a little.
Such a hairstyle can be decorated with hairpins with pebbles, placing them 2 or 3 on each of the divided parts.
Spit "Waterfall"
A great hairstyle for every day or even for special occasions. She got such a name due to her resemblance to a waterfall.
So, after combing your hair, divide it into a side part, you can braid both from left to right, and vice versa. Take a strand from the temporal part of the head, divide it into three strands and start weaving like a normal braid, only release the top strand after using it, release it down. Continuing the weaving pattern, do not forget to add the same tufts of hair only to the upper strand, when finished - fasten it with an elastic band or some beautiful hairpin, “crab”.
"Aerial spit"
She was also nicknamed the “braid chain”, it is suitable only for long or medium length hair.
Comb your hair back and take a small tuft of hair on the top of your head, divide it into three strands and cross each other, lay the left strand on the center, then the right one - similarly. Then, to the left strand, add a separated bundle of hair at the temples and put on the central, right weave without additions. In the next step, twist the left strand without adding, then to the right strand, adding a bundle at the right temporal part, put it on the central strand. Repeat this sequence until the end of weaving, secure with an elastic band.
Such a hairstyle can be braided not only by the classical method, but also according to the braid scheme inverted - then the pigtail in the middle will be convex and more voluminous, such weaving can also be applied on the tail.
Do not forget to use accessories as jewelry: a small brooch or hairpins with rhinestones will not be superfluous, most importantly, remember that you are not forty.
Scythe "bezel"
In turn, this type of braid is also gaining momentum in popularity. Using this method, you can remove bored or overgrown bangs without much effort.
The weave is very similar to the usual classic, only the difference is that we will add strands of hair only from the bottom. To do this, take a lock of hair from a bang, divide it into three locks and begin to bind them in a known manner; then, to the bottom strand from the bottom, grab an extra tuft of hair from the bangs and put on top of the middle one, then without the addition, braid the top strand. You can finish the weaving in the ear area and fix with an elastic band or invisible.
You can continue weaving without adding strands - just in the usual way to weave a pigtail, and make a tail out of the remaining hair. Wrap the tail with a pigtail, securing it with invisibility, so you can hide the elastic.
Such weaving can be used on one or both sides, both over the entire length of the hair, and only on the bangs.
According to the same scheme, you can weave a slightly different bezel with a slight difference: you should now add strands of hair not from below, but from above. In turn, such weaving can be woven along the entire length, only on the bangs or to the middle of the head.
Rubber weaving
Recently, braiding with rubber bands has become a common weaving. This is the fastest and easiest option for weaving both on thick and thin hair. For weaving, we need elastic bands: silicone is usually used to match the hair color, so that it is easier to hide them.
Consider the step-by-step instructions of the French braid overturn with rubber bands.
- Comb all the hair back.
- Take a small part of the hair on top and tie the tail with an elastic band.
- Separate a small tuft of hair from the tail and wrap around it, hiding the end and securing it with invisibility.
- Separate part of the hair just below the already tied tail and also tie it to the tail.
- Divide the upper tail into two equal parts and skip them under the second tail.
- For convenience, raise the second tail so as not to interfere.
- Then again separate part of the hair from the head and tie a third tail.
- Release the second tail, dividing it in half, skip under the third tail.
- Repeat with the third tail the same as with the second, removing it up.
- Repeat this until the end of the hair. When finished, fasten with elastic, and then gently begin to stretch the strands of hair to hide the elastic.
Weaving in this way is also possible around the head on one side or on an oblique - it all depends on your imagination.
Scythe "hearts" with elastic bands
There is a similar version of the French braid overturn - weaving with elastic bands in the form of hearts. Both species are similar in scheme, but with a slight difference.
- Comb your hair back, then separate a small strand and tie your tail.
- Tie the tail above the elastic band in half and rotate inward.
- Then separate the next part of the hair from one and the other side, grabbing the hair from the first tail, tie it with an elastic band.
- Again, halving part of the upper tail (a hole is formed), turn the entire tail inward.
- Continue this way to the end. After turning the last tail, stretch your fingers inside the locks of hair, giving a heart shape.
