How to sew a hole on jeans between legs, on knees or on buttocks?

Jeans are present in the wardrobe of many. They are convenient, comfortable, but the holes that have appeared over time force us to say goodbye to our favorite thing. So that jeans still please us for a while, holes can be darned, hidden with applique or patch.

The technique that is used to mask a hole with a sewing machine is called splicing. It is indispensable for the repair of men's jeans.

The sewing machine must have the function of sewing the stitch in the forward and reverse direction.

You will need threads of the same color with the fabric, a patch, a piece of non-woven fabric that is larger than the patch.

On the wrong side, a patch is applied, and non-woven on it. We iron everything.

On the front side we “hammer” the hole with stitches. The first stitch goes forward, then put the machine in reverse mode and lay the next stitch. The width between the stitches is equal to the width of the thread. It turns out a dense surface of threads that seem to paint a hole.

The final point - we get rid of excess patch fabric and non-woven fabric, that is, we simply cut off the unnecessary. From the hole there will be no trace, plus, it will be completely invisible.

It will be very interesting to look at the thing made by threads of a contrasting color. The work done will accentuate and look unusual.

Manually, you can sew up a hole that looks like a right angle or a cut in the form of a straight line. The threads used must match the tone of the jeans, that is, be invisible.

Stitches are often overlapped so that there is no distance between them. Their size is the same.

In the event that the repair of the hole does not make it invisible, perform the application. It will hide the visible flaw and become a stylish element of the decor, thereby reviving your favorite thing.

The application can be done on your own or you can buy a ready-made one. As a rule, factory applications have an adhesive base and are easily attached to the fabric with a hot iron. As a result of several washes, they can come off. It is better to fix them with threads.

If you decide to perform the application yourself, then you can use different materials. Effectively combines jeans and leather. You can apply beads, braid, decorative buttons or just fabric of different textures. The scope of your imagination is not limited.

1. For restoration you need a piece of denim. Very often, manufacturers attach a piece of cloth of the same color to a new thing just in case you need to repair the product. If you don’t have such a piece of fabric, then any other dense texture will do. A patch is cut from it.
2. We twist the jeans on the wrong side and put our patch on the hole. Next, glue cloth is applied from above. She is a little more than a patch. Do not confuse. The rough glue surface should be in contact with a piece of our denim patch. Cover with one more piece of cloth. It will prevent glue from getting on the iron.
3. It remains only to iron the entire resulting “whatnot” with an iron, but first be sure to sprinkle it with water.
4. The front side of the hole is sewn with a zigzag seam with frequent stitches with a maximum stitch width. The lines should go at each other by 0.1 cm.
5. We stretch the threads to the wrong side and knit so that the stitches do not open. The remaining adhesive fabric is cut with scissors.

A hole on the knee is very noticeable. It can be darned using the plucking method described above.

At the same time, there is one important point: it is inconvenient to lay the seam, so you will have to stretch the jeans along the outer side seam from the wrong side by about 20 cm. The hole will thus be exactly in the middle of the open part.

We remove the factory and overlaid lines with manicure scissors. At the same time, we leave the ends of the threads so that they serve as a guide for the final assembly.

Next, glue the hole with adhesive fabric and iron and apply tightly machine stitches.

If the color of the jeans on the knee is not monophonic, resembling a gradient, then you will have to use several colors that are suitable in tone.

A maximum of accuracy is required to suture the holes formed between the legs. You can’t do without a patch. It is applied from the wrong side and is fixed with pins for convenience.

We put a seam around the perimeter of the patch. On the front side, the disheveled edge of the hole also clings to the patch.

If the size of the hole is pretty impressive, then a patch would be the best option.

On children's jeans it is better to make an applique.
