You can buy such material in any store for repair at a reasonable price, and for some products you can even use trimmings left after finishing work. The material is easy and simple to cut and keeps its shape perfectly, which attracts needlewomen.

From a technical point of view, Isolon is a polyethylene foam. Initially, its purpose was to use it as a substrate during thermal insulation work. The color palette is usually yellow, red, green or white. Very soon, needlewomen noted that the material can become the basis for creating stylish decor items.

Usually, craftswomen use several basic working techniques.

• Cutting and cutting. Elements of absolutely any shape and degree of complexity can be cut out of this material, while it can be easily cut with the most ordinary tailor's scissors or an office knife.

• Shaping. Upon contact with hot surfaces and heating to 75-85 degrees, the material does not ignite and does not melt, but at the same time becomes malleable and susceptible to deformation. • Staining. It is possible to color the craft from Isolon exclusively with acrylic-based enamels, other paints on this material do not hold.

Starting to make crafts for home and garden, it should be borne in mind that the isolon is not afraid of high humidity. However, under prolonged exposure to ultraviolet rays, it turns yellow - this is especially noticeable on white and creamy material. Colored isolon is more resistant to sunlight, so it is from it that crafts are made for a personal plot and garden.

The range of products that can be made from Isolon is limited only by the flight of imagination and the level of skill.

Features of the material is that it can be used to make flowers of all sizes - from miniature buds to large growth flower arrangements. Flowers can be voluminous panels, placed on stems, as well as assemble in groups.

Each flower is made up of many separate elements:

• small petals are usually created from 10x10 or 12x12 blanks;
• large ones are collected from petals, the length of which varies from 25x25 to 60x60 cm.

Depending on the selected dimensions, the diameter of the flower can be 1 m or more. For compact crafts, an isolon is used with a thickness of up to 2 mm, for larger ones, durable plates with a thickness of 3 mm or more are needed, since a thin canvas simply will not hold its shape.

Isolon is a lightweight material, but a large flower arrangement with many petals can have a lot of weight and therefore be unstable.

The work of creating flowers includes a composition that has not fallen. 3 main stages. The first is the direct formation of a flower.

We draw attention to the fact that any craft should be as similar as possible to its natural prototype. Therefore, the work should take into account the characteristic features of the structure of the flowers (shape, proportionality, as well as the shade range of the flower).

After determining all the necessary parameters create patterns for sepals. The required shape is given to the isolon by heating, and the final molding is done manually. All elements are combined into one composition with hot glue. If necessary, additional tinting with a brush or from a spray can be performed.

When creating any colors from Isolon, the following points should be considered:

• The flower is formed from one central bud, near which half-opened petals are glued. In this case, the outer layer is entirely composed of the disclosed elements.
• The very first petals are glued around the tube, and a flower pot or basin is used for subsequent ones.
• To create a bud, foam blanks are usually used.
• The technique of making peony resembles the technique of creating a rose. However, a half-open bud is placed in the center here, the petals along the edges have almost no signs of deformation. Without exception, all peony petals have a wavy edge.
• A tulip is formed from four petals connected in pairs, they are attached around the stem.
• Chrysanthemum is collected from a large number of thin petals.

At the second stage, they begin to create a rod. To do this, you need tubes, rods or rods. The diameter of the stem directly depends on the dimensions of the flower, they must be proportionate.

• Concrete. This stand resembles the first option, but the base in this case is poured from concrete mortar, and the rods are inserted into it.
• Stand pot. As a base, you can use various containers - these can be basins, barrels, flowerpots and even buckets. A cement mortar is poured into them and the lower part of the stems is inserted until solidification.

When creating an artificial flowering bush, the branches look pretty pretty. They are fixed on a woody basis, and then leaves and flowers from the isolon are placed.

The work sequence includes several basic steps.

• To begin with, two 1.5 liter plastic bottles are carefully cut and inserted one into the other so as to give a shape resembling a bird’s skeleton. Inside you can put the remains of Isolon.
• The paws are made of wire and welded by welding.

Petals in the form of drops in the form of drops of three different sizes are carefully cut out of the existing isolon scraps. Using a hot dryer, the leaves are heated and given the desired shape:

Also, using hot air from a hair dryer, they are glued into small inflorescences, each of which includes 3-4 flowers. If desired, each can be supplemented with artificial stamens - they are glued to the center with a hot gun.

After that, small petals are glued together and connected to large ones. The diameter of flowers and inflorescences you can leave at your own discretion, but in any case, their height should be the same.

Using hot glue, the flowers are attached to the ceiling so that they completely cover the entire external surface. After that, it remains only to screw in the light bulb and turn on the light.

One of the most popular areas in the manufacture of crafts from Isolon is the creation of lamps. They use an unusual effect that occurs when light passes through a thin material - it scatters very beautifully and transforms the appearance of the room.

Usually luminaires are created from isolon in the form of large growth flowers. A large rose can become a stylish sconce, and the flower on the leg turns into a creative floor lamp.

The product involves 5-7 rows of petals, it is made according to the standard scheme. However, the central bud in this case is quite large, so it is twisted around the cylinder - this forms a cavity for placing a cartridge with a lamp inside it.
