Patches for the skin around the eyes do an excellent job of traces of fatigue and lack of sleep, remove swelling, and enhance metabolic processes. Unlike eye cream, this wonderful cosmetic is quickly absorbed and gives a tangible effect. You should know how to store them correctly.

Proper storage

Patches are available both in individual packaging, and 60 pieces or more. A special liquid inside prevents them from drying out. Plastic containers should be kept tightly closed at room temperature. It is important to keep the packaging away from heaters and batteries, as well as direct sunlight. Otherwise, the serum in the jar will deteriorate, as will the patches themselves. It is important to remember that after opening the shelf life is limited to 2 months.

And it is also not recommended to store them in rooms with high humidity, for example, in the bathroom. The best option is a dark, dry place. Patches should be removed from the packaging with a special spatula or tweezers that come with the kit.

If you take the material by hand, then you can bring bacteria and germs, and the entire cosmetic product may deteriorate.

Patches can be used both on a regular basis and as needed. It is allowed to use 2 times a day, for example, in the morning to wake up and give the person a rested look, and in the evening to relieve fatigue. In no case should you leave the plates at night. Instead of the expected effect, you can get an unpleasant result: overnight, the patches dry out and tighten the skin. A stiff border is formed around the edges, which leaves an imprint. With age, the elasticity of the skin decreases, and the circles may not go down for a long time.

Some manufacturers release reusable patches. After use, they are put back into the case with a special cleaning fluid. But in this case, there is a restriction on use: usually no more than 5-6 times. The cost of production is often much higher than disposable counterparts, so it is less in demand.

If in an individual package there are only 2 patches, then they are disposable. It is convenient to take them with you, for example, on a trip or carry in your purse as an emergency tool. If the packaging is opened, it is best to use immediately. Otherwise, the liquid will dry quickly, and the patches themselves will become worthless.

In the fridge

Patches do not need to be stored in the refrigerator, unless the manufacturer requires it in the instructions for use. But if the products were purchased to combat swelling and bags under the eyes, then the cold enhances the effect. However, for sensitive skin or prone to rosacea, a chilled product is contraindicated.

Reusable hydrogel and silicone patches must be stored in the refrigerator. Products are washed with water after use and can be placed in a separate container.

Disposable hydrogel and tissue patches are stored at room temperature, but they can also be cleaned in a cool place. This does not affect the shelf life.

What to do with used ones?

Each pair of patches is one-time. Some people prefer to store them in a separate container and reuse them. That's just the expected cosmetic effect, they will not give, because they completely transferred all the nutrients last time. In no case should you put them back in a common jar: you can spoil the entire product. Therefore, do not store used material.

It happens that the liquid partially evaporated, and the upper patches dried out. It makes no sense to use them, since they do not contain the necessary amount of active substances. Products are thrown away, like used ones.

Serum contains volatile substances, as a result, quickly evaporates. That is why it is important to tightly close the case cover.

Second Life Products

Unlike other patches, hydrogel can be reused, but in a different quality.

  • If you dissolve them in hot water, you get an excellent fortified toner for the face. It is a pity that the shelf life is only a day. In no case do not use boiling water: the gel will boil elementary.
  • Another option is to pour the tonic into ice molds and freeze. Wipe the face with the resulting cubes in the morning. They perfectly tone and refresh the skin. An interesting substitute for herbal decoctions and green tea with a more tangible cosmetic effect. Shelf life is longer: about a month.
  • You can make a mask. Dissolve the used plates with hot water to the state of gruel. Apply to skin for 15–20 minutes and rinse.

Patches perfectly refresh your face in just 20-30 minutes, but only subject to the expiration dates and storage conditions. Therefore, it is important to read the instructions on the package. If the skin is not prone to rosacea, you can remove the packaging in the refrigerator.
