How to tie a scarf on a coat?

The initial task of the scarf is to provide the person with warmth, however, a properly selected scarf can and should be used not only to create comfort, but also as a beautiful accessory that complements your image.

According to the types of material from which scarves are made, they can be divided into three groups:

• rectangular (narrow and wide);

Choosing a scarf, you should decide not only on the style and color of the coat, but also on the general style, as well as the place and event that you plan to go to.

If you are a supporter of the classical style and, moreover, go to an official business meeting, then the same classic scarf made of wool or cashmere is perfect for you. You can also use a thin fabric scarf that you tie under a coat.

With a short jacket-coat, a knitted scarf, long or short, will be appropriate, and with a fitted coat with a full skirt and accentuated waist, chiffon scarves of suitable colors look spectacular. To the military-style coat, as they say, the theme will be a scarf-snood (a scarf-pipe, a scarf-collar, a transformer scarf).

The versatility and beauty of the stole or pashmina will allow you to wear them with almost any style of coat. Moreover, tied to a denim or leather cropped coat, the stole will soften the harsh look and add femininity.

Choosing the color of a scarf for a coat, be guided, first of all, by the color of the coat itself and the color of other accessories to it. Contrast accessories, including a scarf of the same color, can dilute the monotony of a classic plain coat and make it not so boring.

A non-standard, but interesting option will also be when shoes, gloves, a scarf, a hat and a bag are selected in contrasting or the same color as the coat, but in shades of the same color that differ from each other.

There are a lot of ways to beautifully use a scarf. When choosing it, the model and style of the coat should be taken into account: with a collar, without a collar, a coat with a hood.

If your coat has an English collar, an Apache collar or just a large turn-down collar, it makes no sense to tie a scarf over the coat. It should be placed on the neck, under the coat:

• Tie a scarf to the neck in any way, and pull the ends tucked under the coat into the gap between the first and second loop of the shelf.

If the coat has a stand-up collar, a small turn-down collar, or if it does not have a collar at all, then a voluminous snood collar will look appropriate and effective over the coat. Also organically in this case beautifully laid pashmina folds will look.

For a coat with a hood, tie a sloppy half-loose single knot of a long scarf with tassels.

The classic way to tie a long fabric or knitted scarf is to wrap it around the neck, thus making a loop, and hang the ends on the chest.

An interesting option will turn out if you wrap the scarf around the neck, and tuck the straightened ends under the belt or belt of the coat.

If you do the opposite, that is, you will form a loop on the chest, and the ends of a long scarf are casually thrown back, then your appearance will acquire some bohemian notes.

You can imitate the look of a snood-scarf by wrapping a long knitted or fabric scarf around the neck several times, and turning its ends inward.

You can even casually throw a scarf over your shoulders without tying it, especially to your open coat.

It is allowed to wrap a long thin scarf of not very large width around the neck and tighten it quite tightly. In this case, the space between the scarf strip on the neck and the neckline of the coat will remain open. It should be borne in mind, however, that this option will add spectacularity, but it will not become warmer.

A very original solution can offer a scarf, used as a scarf. Given that the scarf, as a rule, has a square shape, fold it in half, getting a triangle, then roll it into a roll (simple or twisted) and tie it around the neck with a simple knot, leaving, at your discretion, the ends on the chest, on the back or even on one shoulder on both sides.

If the fabric of the scarf is light, then such a slightly twisted voluminous roll can be laid around the neck several times, and tied the tips inwards.

“Cowboy” option - a scarf folded in half is tied with a loose double knot, rotates a triangle forward, and the ends remain on the back. Thus, in a coat with an open collar, you will see a beautiful scarf, which also reliably protects you from the cold.
