Tonics are divided into several types depending on the strength of the effect on the hair and the resistance of the funds:
- Sparing. Such products do not contain ammonia and other potent chemical compounds. Tonic affects the upper part of the hair and does not penetrate into its structure. Such balms and shampoos are used to give a shade and are washed 1-2 weeks after use.
- Easy action. Tonic is used for more permanent staining. After the procedure, the color changes by 2-3 tones and lasts from two weeks to a month. In this case, the agent penetrates the hair.
- Deep action. Suitable for the most cardinal means in the line of tonics. The composition of the funds includes aggressive compounds, due to which it is possible to obtain a more lasting effect. The color remains for more than a month, the period can be increased to eight weeks with special hair care and the use of funds for colored strands.
It is characteristic that only after tonics can the natural color be returned.In the case of persistent dyes, you will have to wait until the hair has completely grown. After applying shampoos and balms, a natural shade will appear. The exception is the case when the composition is overexposed or used incorrectly.
You can apply the tonic regularly, as it is washed off from the hair. Thanks to tinted shampoos, it is possible to change the color of hair every month or to refresh the natural shade. However, it should be borne in mind that the remedy still affects the strands and drains them, so you should not abuse balms.
Time of action
The durability of tinting agents is influenced by a complex of factors. This is due not only to the type and brand of tonic, but also to the subsequent care of dyed hair. Following the recommendations of specialists, it will be possible to give color stability, to make it more saturated.
What affects the durability of tinting agents:
- Frequency of bath procedures. From this criterion directly depends on how much tonic lasts on the hair. The product is washed after 5-7 washings, because those who take a bath every day, the strands will fade faster.
- Water temperature. Hot washes color faster, therefore, to maintain a saturated color, it is recommended to take a shower in slightly cooler water. As an option - while washing the hair should be dampened to a minimum.
- The use of shampoos and balms for colored hair. Thanks to the use of special tools, it is possible to increase the resistance of tinting agents several times.
- The original color. Best of all, the tonic rests on fair hair, on such curls it lasts longer. The tinted shampoo applied to bleached curls is the most difficult to remove. In contrast, on dark hair, the tonic will last from seven days to a couple of weeks.
- Selected hue. Bright shades are washed out faster. To maintain the saturation of the pink or blue tonic, the color will have to be updated regularly: once every two weeks. However, if the product gave an unexpected effect (for example, if the product was overexposed on highlighted strands and received a green or purple color), the result will last long. It will have to be removed with the use of washes.
The use of masks also affects the shade. Before using the products, make sure that they do not wash out the color. Lemon, sour-milk drinks, nettle, chamomile have this property. And the use of gelatin-based formulations, on the contrary, will give tonic stability.
If the tonic is applied to previously colored strands, the color will last longer. This is due to the fact that funds based on ammonia and other aggressive compounds make the hair structure porous, exfoliate flakes, because of which the tinting agent penetrates deeper.
How to quickly display color?
Sometimes there is a need to prematurely get rid of tonic. Before painting, it is recommended to check the effect of the product on a separate strand in order to understand what the final color will be. Otherwise, the result may be unpredictable.
If the girl was not satisfied with the final version, you should immediately wash your hair several times and then take bath procedures as often as possible.
In addition, they use special washes and home remedies:
- Sour-milk drinks. They are mixed with honey, vegetable oil, gently rubbed into the hair and left for an hour. The mixture is used once a day until the color disappears completely.
- Cosmetic clay. Kefir, orange oil or lemon juice are added to it. The solution is kept on the hair for 20-30 minutes, if necessary, the procedure is repeated 2-3 times.
- Burr oil. It is used individually or in combination with other means. The advantage of this method is that it has a healing effect on the hair.
- Soda. One of the most aggressive ways to be taken in a pinch. After the procedure, the curls are moisturized with balsam or conditioner, as soda dries the hair.Soda is mixed with salt, applied to the hair for 10-15 minutes, then washed off with acetic solution.
- Cleaning products. The most extreme method, which should be resorted to with caution. The composition is applied to the strands for 5-10 minutes, then washed off. The downside is that the tool can spoil the hair. However, sometimes only it is able to get rid of a color that is not like it.
If it was not possible to bring out the color at home, you should contact the salon. The hairdresser will choose a professional acid wash, taking into account the characteristics of the hair, the resulting color and the durability of the tonic used. Means dries curls, so they are not recommended to be used on their own.
