Initially, the Vibram sole was made from a specific type of pressed, foamed rubber. Later, it began to add crushed metal dust, to increase wear resistance.

The sole Vibram almost does not slip due to the special arrangement of the tread elements. For good depreciation of the foot, the protectors should be high enough. They should not be very close to each other and should be tilted in different directions. There are practically no protectors in the center of the foot, all of them located on the toe and on the heel. This arrangement system also prevents dirt and small stones from getting stuck in the sole.
