Nowadays, you can buy sports shoes of any plan: leather, textile, with drawings, with laces and others, for every taste and budget. But no matter what shoes you choose, periodically they need serious cleaning. How to wash sneakers in a regular automatic washing machine will be discussed in this article.

Since this type of sports shoes, like sneakers, is the most popular among many, it is they who most often need to be thoroughly washed. We wear these comfortable shoes almost every day, and no matter where to go in it: to work or on a date. It is important that it is comfortable, practical and beautiful.

But any shoes from constant wear lose their appearance. If the shoes can be cleaned with a sponge, rubbed with a special cream, and they will again shine with a pristine shine, then with this type of sports shoes everything is a little more complicated. If daily cleaning no longer helps, and the sneakers do not look as neat as you would like, then serious measures need to be taken. For example, it is washing in a washing machine.

For washing you will need: a special bag in which it is recommended to wash shoes; A good detergent that can cope even with serious stains and dirt.

Firstly, it will help to remove them in the best way. Secondly, you will not ruin the washing machine:

• wash the sole thoroughly so that there is not a single hint that it was stained with street dirt. This can be done simply under the tap with a sponge or a stiff brush. By the way, the most ordinary toothbrush is also suitable, which will help to remove particles of dirt and sand from the corrugated sole;
• Be sure to remove the laces before washing. They can also be removed manually, using ordinary household soap;
• check the shoes for integrity. That is, make sure that there is no damage, that the seams do not diverge, small decorative details hold well and so on.

After you prepare the sneakers, you can safely proceed to the washing itself.

The one who first encounters washing shoes in a washing machine, of course, is afraid to do something wrong. The questions quite logically arise: how to wash correctly, which mode to choose, whether such washing will spoil the shoes, and so on.

Start with the fact that you need to wash shoes in a special bage, as mentioned above. But not always such a bag is in the house. It doesn’t matter. It will be enough that, along with the sneakers, you put one or two small towels in the drum of the washing machine. This is necessary in order to mitigate shocks during washing and thereby protect the washing machine from serious damage.

Try to wash only one pair at a time. Better yet, wash one shoe at a time. In addition, if your insole is removable, it is best to remove it during washing. Insoles, like laces, can be easily removed manually, and this is not so difficult.

By the way, if you decide to wash colored shoes, namely, bright-colored sneakers, then be prepared for the fact that they may lose their color. To avoid this, you need to place the shoes for ten minutes in a solution prepared in advance. Pour warm water into a basin, dissolve a few tablespoons of ordinary vinegar in it, and immerse the shoe pair completely there. Thus, you can fix the color, and after washing they will remain as bright.

If you wash pure white sneakers, then it does not hurt to add a little bleach during washing. Of course, the product should be intended exclusively for white linen.

Many washing machines that have been available in recent years have a special mode. for washing sports shoes. If the machine does not have such a regime, then it does not matter. Choose to wash your favorite shoes delicate mode or hand wash mode. Such a program provides for a more gentle temperature regime.

Leather sneakers, fabric or textile products are best washed at low temperatures. The temperature you choose should not exceed 40 degrees. Best if you choose 30-35 degrees. The lower the temperature, the greater the guarantee that the shoes will not stick out.

After you wash your sports shoes, they need to be thoroughly dried. Doing this using automatic drying in a washing machine or using a hairdryer is not recommended. After such a process, the shoes can be seriously deformed, and you will only have to send it to the trash.

Try to dry your sneakers outdoors. After you remove them from the drum of the washing machine, leave them in a basin or on a special board. Place them in such a way that all excess fluid can drain safely. It is best to dry the shoes in the street, where they will dry out using the natural wind.

In order to speed up the drying process a little, you can stuff your shoes with old newspapers or just paper. Just remember that white sneakers are best stuffed with pure white paper so that the product does not lose its color. Change the paper to dry periodically.

Only after complete drying can you fill insoles and laces.

Shoes from such well-known brands as Nike or, for example, Adidas, are of special quality. As a rule, such products are initially saturated with a special substance that has a water-repellent and dirt-repellent effect. Due to this, they do not get dirty so often, and if they need cleaning, then this can be done easily and quickly.

Unfortunately, over time, this impregnation is gradually washed off. This is due to regular wet cleaning, rains, weather conditions and, of course, machine wash.

In order for shoes from world brands that are famous for their high-quality products to last as long as possible, need proper care:

• Be sure to purchase a special shoe care product. Consider the material from which the product is made: leather, suede, nubuck, textiles and so on;
• Before starting to clean shoes with one or another product, be sure to carefully read the instructions;
• After a walk in bad weather, be sure to thoroughly clean the product from dirt, and then fill it with clean and dry paper. The same should be done for those who suffer from excessive sweating of the legs;
• Suede or nubuck sneakers are best cleaned with special brushes that will help not damage the delicate surface and keep the perfect look for as long as possible;
• When cleaning leather products, try to do this with a sponge that is not too wet. Such shoes are afraid of excess water and from this lose their original appearance.

Unfortunately, not all sneakers can be washed in an automatic machine. There are such products that categorically cannot be machine washed. For example, these are genuine leather or suede products. In addition, sports shoes with reflectors are also not suitable for washing of this type. It is not recommended to wash shoes decorated with rhinestones, metal spikes and so on. During washing, such products can seriously damage the appliance, and the washing machine may even fail.

Athletic shoes that are made of leather can be washed without using powders and a washing machine. Try daily to clean such products with a sponge from dust and dirt. Be sure to rub it with a special cream several times a month. You can buy the cream in the same store as the sports shoes themselves.

If you decide to wash the sneakers by hand, then these recommendations will definitely come in handy:

• First, prepare your sneakers for washing, as recommended above. That is, clean the sole from dirt, wipe the surface thoroughly, remove the laces;
• if on sneakers, especially fabric ones, there are strong spots that have been ingrained into matter from time to time, then you will have to work on them initially. Such spots can be removed with bleaches. Choose a liquid remedy.The tool can be for white or colored linen, it all depends on the color of your shoes;
• When cleaning a stubborn stain, you can use a simple toothbrush, which is very convenient to distribute the product and rub the stain directly. Rub the stain thoroughly and leave it like this for ten to fifteen minutes, after which you can proceed to the main wash;
• in order to wash the sneakers by hand, in the basin you need to mix detergent, if necessary, bleach. Do everything in moderately warm water. Remember that too hot water can harm and the sole of the shoe or decorative elements can come off;
• Having immersed the shoes in a basin, rub it thoroughly with a soft brush on all sides. The insole is best washed and dried separately;
• After you finish washing in powder water, your shoes should be washed in cool water. This must be done carefully so that there are no particles of detergent, otherwise after complete drying, dark, yellow spots will appear on the surface of the product;
• You need to dry in the same manner as described above, avoiding drying with a hairdryer and next to batteries, radiators.

Unfortunately, many are faced with such a problem that even after the washing machine there are spots on the sneakers. This is especially true for white soles. It seems that the shoes are perfectly clean, but the sole disappoints with its not perfect whiteness. But such shortcomings are easily eliminated after washing. True, this time will have to work manually.

A regular eraser that every student uses daily will help whiten the sole of your favorite shoe. It will be enough if you rub all the problem areas with an eraser. The dirt will go away, and the sole will again be snow-white.

If once the white sole became slightly yellowish or gray, then bleach will help return its whiteness. Take a liquid detergent for white laundry, dilute it in warm water. Pour exactly enough water into a comfortable, wide basin so that only the sole of the shoe can be soaked in it. Leave the product in this solution for about half an hour. This will help whiten the sole.

The usual toothpaste, which we use in the morning and in the evening, also copes with stains on a white sole. Give preference to white, peppermint paste. Since in some pastes with particles and crystals there is a small fraction of the dye, which will adversely affect the whiteness of the sole.

So, apply the paste on the toothbrush, and then rub it on the sole, paying particular attention to problem areas. This method will help to quickly and efficiently return the whiteness of the sole.

Some stains after machine wash still remain on the surface of the shoe. Often this happens with textile sneakers. While the shoes are still wet, you can remove the stains yourself, manually. To do this, you need bleach, preferably liquid.

If after washing some details, such as rhinestones or other jewelry, fly off, then this does not matter. After drying completely, you can stick them back yourself. This can be done using special glue. Note that glue must be transparent. Apply glue to the place itself, not the product. In addition, do not apply too much glue, otherwise then you will have to remove its residues from the shoes.
