The flip side of fashion: in Paris showed the back face
An unusual exhibition has opened in the French capital, which shows for the first time what fashion viewers don’t see - backs.
Fashion designers seldom pay due attention to women’s backs, and yet this is a borderland between the spiritual and the mundane. Everything above the back belongs to the spiritual world, and everything below the earthly. The female back is one of the most vulnerable places, it is not without reason that they say that secret affairs are carried out behind the back, while behind it they speak of a woman.
The shoulders, arms and neckline in women's fashion were open for a long time, but the ladies preferred to keep the back closed until the very end.
The exhibition collected incredible historical artifacts - mantles of queens, whose length is more than ten meters. For women with a rank below, only three-meter mantles were laid.
The richly decorated dresses on the front from the back were unpretentious, it was not customary to decorate them. But on the back could be located some secret signs, for example, red diamonds from prisoners of war.
Modern fashion designers and clothing designers also prefer to use the back as a message board - there are inscriptions on T-shirts, jackets, brand badges on it.
Particularly noteworthy are dresses under the neck with a long sleeve, in which there was only one bare place - the back. In such secular ladies decided to appear only in the last century.
The idea was picked up. Christian Dior has created a whole collection of women flowers.
Designers created dresses with a large number of buttons on the back, as if trying to close what had been hidden from human eyes for centuries. So at the end of the last century a legendary dress appeared on 51 buttons of John Galliano.
The desire of designers is understandable - a woman in such outfits is forced to be helpless, to ask a man to fasten and unfasten his dress, and these moments are moments of closeness and trust.
The female back is presented at the exhibition not only as a symbol of beauty and stature, but also as a place to carry goods. Therefore, Prada backpacks are presented. But wings can also grow on the back, and therefore they have gathered a whole collection of “winged” dresses.
Fashion experts are confident that in the very near future, traditional views on women's backs will change, and fashion designers will help discover what is hidden due to tradition.
