Fake will not work: experts told how to distinguish original things from a fake
Financial analysts are in shock - last year, sales of branded items in Russia grew by only 5%, while the shadow segment of the market selling counterfeit brands grew twice as much. The turnover of fake things that are presented as real has reached 280 billion rubles.
It turned out that up to 40% of counterfeit goods in Russia are sold not just anywhere, but in the most official shopping centers with a good reputation. Another 30% of fake items are sold in clothing markets, but at lower prices.
Among all the fakes, Russians most often buy counterfeit sneakers, jeans, T-shirts and bags.
On the one hand, the desire to buy fake things is understandable - everyone wants to live beautifully, but not everyone has the means for real luxury things. And modern boutiques, although they position their range as luxury, have long been adapting to the requirements of the buyer, and are ready to provide him with counterfeit, fake for 5 hundred euros, because there is simply no one to buy a real thing for 5 thousand euros.
Boutiques and single-brand stores are forced to combine the range, mixing fakes and luxury items.
At the same time, almost nothing can be distinguished in appearance of a thing.
To distinguish fake from the present, experts recommend buy branded items in official stores. The luxury thing is indicated by the full compliance of the barcode in the country with the country of manufacture.
Huge discounts beloved by Russians in half or more from the original price of the goods are an indirect sign of counterfeiting. If in doubt, you must first find the thing of interest in the official store or on the manufacturer's website and check with the real price level. The discount cannot be more than the cost.
Be sure to evaluate not only the tag with the brand name, but also the quality of the item or pair of shoes.When a fake is made, it is saved on everything, including on time, and on working hands. As a result, the glue on the shoe looks spreading, the seams are fragile or uneven, labels can be sewn crookedly.
