Sonia Rykiel fashion house closes and ceases to exist
Paris Commercial Court Decides eliminate the world famous french fashion house Sonia Rykiel. Three years ago, the founder of the fashion house, fashion designer Sonia Rickel passed away. And now the company has formed huge financial debts.
Representatives of the fashion house themselves appealed to the court with a request to declare them bankrupt and to protect them from the requirements of creditors in the legal field.
The last three years after the founder’s death, all financial transactions of the fashionable French house were led by Chinese investors First heritage brands - financiers William and Victor Fun. And despite the huge infusion of funds into the fashion house of Sonya Riquel, it was not possible to reanimate him.
The court was looking for new owners, hoping that someone would take responsibility for the company and its financial debts, but it was not possible to find anyone who could accept the fashion house. And not because entrepreneurs do not want this, dozens of businessmen from around the world filed petitions, but the court rejected them all, considering the candidates financially unreliable.
The fashion house owns a network of six stores in Monaco and France. All of them will be closed, and 131 employees will be dismissed without a new job.
All remnants of clothing will be sold at bargain prices, and the brand itself is planned to be auctioned off.
Sonia Rickel herself was born into a family of Jewish immigrants from Russia and Romania. The girl was born in Paris. She painted well and, even before she came of age, began working as a window dresser in textile stores.
As husband, Sonya chose the director of a textile store, and it was in this store that she was in 1962 presented the first own collection of legendary wide sweaters. This thing quickly became trendy, especially the inhabitants of the USA fell in love with it.
And six years later, Sony already had its own boutiques on the most fashionable Parisian streets.
