The opportunity to combine your own hair in a hairstyle with false curls gave endless possibilities for imagination to hairdressers. In just a quarter of an hour, the hair acquires the desired length and volume. One of the options for building is the use of tresses.

You can make tresses yourself at home.
Out of hair
In order to make tresses from natural hair with your own hands, you will need:
- strong threads;
- liquid containers;
- natural hair;
- a chair with a back or something similar to it;
- a hammer;
- nails.
It will be ideal if you do not need a chair for making tresses in the future, since in the process you will have to spoil it pretty much. From the right side of the back, you need to hammer in three carnations so that the distances between them are the same. From the other side only one carnation is clogged. Wrap the threads on the nail on the left, tie a strong knot. Pull the threads to the opposite side of the back so that they are stretched. Repeat this operation with all the nails on the right side. Please note that the length of the thread should be 7-10 cm longer than the distance from the left side of the back of the chair to the right.
Pull the threads from right to left with tension and fasten. When winding on a nail, it is necessary to provide a nuance: if the threads weaken, they can be pulled up again and fixed.
Pour water into the dishes and put the hair. Put the container on the right and left of the back (based on your individual preferences). Put another chair so that sitting on it, you will be facing the back of a chair with stretched threads. Separate 10-13 hairs from the prepared hair, spread them in water along the entire length with your fingers, so that they are easy to work with.Before you start to weave your hair along the threads, you need to draw an approximate diagram.
Extend the smoothed hair half the length in the middle of two strands, and then between the second and third. Bend the hair through the third thread towards yourself, and then again stretch over the first two and pull it a little. Round the third thread with a lock of hair and pull on yourself. Stretch the hairs over the second thread, then over the first towards you.
Tighten, tighten and slide well onto the left side.
A similar procedure is repeated with other hair prepared for hand weaving tressa.
The strength of the product will depend on the quality of the threads and the density of the weave itself. For strength, tresses can be sewn on a sewing machine along the seam formed.
Where the screed passes, double-sided sizing with Moment Crystal gel is recommended. Thanks to this procedure, the hairs will come out less when combing.
To fix the finished product on the head, hair clips need to be sewn to the tresses.
Goat hair
Making tresses from goat curls is a simple task, even novice craftswomen will cope with it. Production takes about an hour.
The following materials are needed for work:
- goat hair;
- threads
- ruler;
- tracing paper;
- scissors;
- accessories for sewing;
- sewing machine.
Goat hair can be ordered at online needlework stores. If you have the skill to work with this material and know how to process goat hair, it is recommended to order raw, not ready-made strands, since it is much cheaper.
Rinse the raw well with a powder and conditioner to discourage the characteristic goat odor. Dry and divide into strands.
Cut a piece of 20 cm long from the tracing paper. Divide the width of the paper in half and draw a noticeable line with a pencil. Take thin locks and lay them out so that the base is slightly higher than the drawn line.
On the other hand, we also lay out the strands so that they go with the previous ones slightly overlapping. Repeat the same steps until the middle of the sheet of tracing paper is filled. Having reached the desired mark, the sheet must be folded in half.
On the sewing machine, set the smallest step and flash the product along the center line. Bend the tress in half at the seam. Flash again at a distance of half a centimeter from the first seam. Remove the finished tresses from tracing paper.
You can make tresses of any length, based on your wishes. The easiest way is to calculate the length based on the width of the sheet of tracing paper.
If tracing paper is not available, it can be replaced with tissue paper. The use of these materials is extremely important in order to achieve a good result. The fact is that flashing goat hair directly “live” from above leads to its stalling under the needle or foot of the sewing machine. Tracing paper is very thin and easy to use, thanks to it the tresses remain beautiful, smoothed, and it itself is easily removed at the end.
You can dye your hair before making tresses. To do this, hair dye needs to be diluted in a bowl. You can use one or more colors. It is necessary to apply the paint manually, since the brush intended for this procedure will rip off goat hair. First, the roots are colored, then the ends of the hairs. For 100 grams of tress, approximately 2 packs of paint will be required. When all the hair is well oiled, they need to be folded into a bag and left for 1.5 hours.
Then rinse each strand with the addition of balm and leave for a quarter of an hour. Rinse and spread again to dry. Comb the curls.
