A neat and original hairstyle is an adornment of any fashionista. It is worth noting that not all women were awarded with thick and voluminous hair by nature. In the modern world, to create a stylish look, tails (hairpieces) are made of artificial hair. With the right choice and proper care, this accessory will last you a long time.

Features

False tails are made of both artificial and natural hair. The first are light in weight, varied color palette and affordable price. Their length, as a rule, is from 40 to 80 cm. The texture of artificial hair is different: from blond straight to black wavy.

In most cases, the types of chignon mounts are as follows:

  • on the consignment tape;
  • on a crab - a hairpin (small size).

How to choose a tail?

When buying this accessory, remember that your little female "trick" should be inconspicuous and in appearance should be no different from natural hair. When purchasing an artificial “tail”, you should pay attention to certain subtleties of the purchase:

  • the color of the chignon and "native" hair should match;
  • patch hairpieces should be of good quality (shiny, silky and easy to comb);
  • the advantage of fastening with a tape is in creating a beautiful hairstyle in a matter of minutes;
  • the crab is harder to disguise, but the chignon will be more firmly fixed, unlike the fabric.
  • Do not overdo it with the volume of the artificial tail. Otherwise, in combination with "native" hair, he will look ridiculous.

Chignon Care

In order for artificial hair not to lose a beautiful appearance for a long time, it is necessary to properly care for them. By analogy with natural ones, they can be painted, wound and even washed. The better the care for this accessory will be made, the more beautiful and elegant your hair will look.

Unnatural tails are contaminated no less than natural ones. Of course, artificial hair is often undesirable to undergo water procedures. Ideally, you can wash them after the 10th “socks”.

Classic shampoos should not be used (they harm artificial strands). A choice should be made in favor of special means to care for "unnatural" strands.

To “soften” the water, add soda to it (2 teaspoons per 1 liter of liquid). It’s easy to wash the hairpiece, the procedure consists of several steps.

  1. We fill the basin with warm water and add a special shampoo.
  2. Dips a tail of artificial hair into it for 10 minutes (no more).
  3. Gently rinse. Places of severe pollution can be slightly rubbed with a small brush.
  4. Next, wash the hairpiece under cool water.
  5. Wrap artificial strands in a towel for a few seconds, and then straighten them.
  6. Leave to dry for 10-12 hours. Using a hairdryer and drying in direct sunlight is not recommended.
  7. If necessary, the procedure can be repeated.

After the "unnatural" hair dries, it must be combed. We take a volume comb with soft natural bristles and, dividing the tail into several strands, we begin to comb each one from the bottom up. For convenience, we use hairpins and "invisible". When “knots” appear, patiently untangle them with your hands (do not pull!). In extreme cases, a “naughty” lock, literally a few hairs, is carefully cut with manicure scissors.

It is best to store a tail made of natural hair on a hanger in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight. It can also be covered with a light cotton cloth (do not use cellophane). Remove and wear overhead hairpieces with extreme caution. Improper operation will significantly reduce product life.

How to fix hairpiece on hair?

Attach a hairpiece at home is not difficult. So, we proceed:

  • comb clean hair and apply mousse or styling gel;
  • carefully collect the tail on the crown and secure it with an elastic band;
  • make a "bunch" and fix it with hairpins;
  • spray hair with varnish;
  • we take a tail from artificial hair and fasten it to a "bun";
  • immerse the hairpieces of the chignon under the bundle and tighten with a thin ribbon around the base of the hairstyle;
  • "Fluff" false hair, hiding the place of attachment, and again spray with varnish;
  • if desired, the place of "connection" can be decorated with a bright satin ribbon, an original elastic band.

Such a hairstyle is suitable for a noisy party or for a business meeting.

A ponytail made of artificial hair can be made wavy. Turn on unnatural strands will work at home. There are several ways to curl.

  1. Using a curling iron. Preheat the instrument to 190 degrees. We divide the tail into several strands and wrap each of them into a curling iron, by analogy with natural hair. We curl for 1-2 minutes. Carefully remove each curled lock from the curling iron and allow it to cool.
  2. In the oven. We heat the oven to 100 degrees. We take a chignon and curl each strand on metal or wooden curlers. Put on a baking sheet and send to the oven for 50 minutes. We give the false hair to cool and proceed directly to the creation of hairstyles.

Note that it is often not recommended to heat-treat artificial hair.
